What a GP! I remember watching it 4am at my country. An Epic comeback by Schumacher. Since Suzuka 2000, I have never celebrated a Michael's victory with such intensity. Too bad, his engine blew in the following race and Alonso won the Title later at Interlagos. But Schumacher was not defeated by Alonso, but by the tyres regulations, that disallowed tyre changes during the races and this hurt Bridgestone, depriving Schumacher from the 2005 and the 2006 Championships. FIA finnaly got him! Sad...
Yeah! You're right on. But I believe in him! He's the best of modern F1 if not of all time and Mercedes promises to have a stronger car next year. Let's wait!
@MikeSV1989 well they have got geof willis and aldo costa and they are people that know how to design an f1 car well so hopefully mercedes will be making a competitive car for next year
the question is whether he wants one. i think next year will be pretty awesome for him, and he might even snatch a win or two this year, if it rains at the right time. ;)
O did Alonso use tires of different condition for front and rear, it's this race right? On the podium, Fisichella and Schumacher were both happy, but look at Alonso's face LOL.....
Greatest driver of all times. With the disadvantage of Bridgestones and changing conditions he still managed to beat those Michellins runners. Amazing amazing!
I dont know exactly, but i think Alonso chose wrong tires with wrong pressure just got such ones or just changed front or rear tires at the first pit stop which at the end was the wrong decision (so something with the tires, if i remember exactly), and schumacher drove very well, so he used the opportunity and also overtook Fisichella.
@06MilesA Schumacher had a perfect race, perfect timing for dry tyres and the pit stop itself, his driving was perfect. He passed a lot of people on track I don't even remember how many, including Alonso as shown at 5:47, although Alonso had cold tyres because he just came out of the pit. One of my favorite race from Schumacher :).
How many times has that idiot Massa made contact with Coulthard? lol....I was delighted to see Schumi win, although i did'nt think it would be his last....That should have been the Japanese GP, or Brazil, judging by his sheer pace there.
Well considering that the contact broke Massa's rear suspension and hit Coulthards front, it was Coulthards fault for not seeing the Ferrari which was already 9/10 of the way past him. The key point is, every time they made contact, Massa was on the inside of the corner and level or ahead of Coulthard. Therefore Massa had the racing line and racing position in all cases. Since Massa had the racing line and the racing position in all cases, its Coulthards fault.
Schumi, the rain master! You cannot say, that he had the better rain-tyres. That was schumi only, he never gives up, even when the situation is so worse like in that race. Can somebody imagin, that rubens was able to do that like schumi? I dont think so!
Well.Rubens got a great race in Germany 2000,winning wet race on slicks...and also his commeback at Brazilian GP 2003 was good...but Schumacher is Schumacher
@AlejjSi Rubens was at least 10 seconds behind Schumacher at Brazil 2003 when Schumacher crashed, having surged past Rubens. Rubens was far enough back to get the call that about 5 or 6 cars had crashed at turn 3. He then surged into the lead as the track dried out (Michelin brought wets, Bridgestone inters, in a bizarre cost saving fuck up), before blowing up.
Alonso chose to keep the same rears, but change the fronts. A bizarre decision which is on the same par with the decision to pit in Abu Dhabi. The only difference, Schumacher's engine blew up Japan and handed the title to Alonso.
If I recall it was a stunning period in which Schumacher launched from OK to possible race win. Poor strategy.
May I add, what a cunt, Pat Symonds is. He commented before this race that Schumacher couldn't take pressure. Of course, in 2000, after Spa, when Hakkinen led by 6 points in the championship, there was no pressure on Schumacher. Forget that Hakkinen would have led 3-2 on championships had he won that title. That's not pressure. Of course, Schumacher being the shrinking violet that he is, responded with this race.
Should the car no broke in Suzuka and in Interlagos and the championship had been for michael. (He still remains the best, but the pity is that Alonso won)
@errorR25 Only a retard could say hamilton is a joke compared to schumacher.... the fact is , when schumacher was on top , he had BY FAR the best car of all, and , they had traction control back then.... today, they drive without any electronic help...much harder to do.
@derbigpr500 Did you see Hamilton's last wet race in Canada this year? DNF after nearly taking out Webber and Button with silly moves. By F1 standards, Hamilton was born with a silver spoon up his butt by always having the best car (3 of 5 seasons with Mclaren). Unlike Schumi, who drove a Jordan, an underpowered Benetton, and a crappy Ferrari in the 90's. Spa '95, Spain '96, Monaco '97, China "06. All Schumi wins with an inferior car in the wet.
Thanks for this video, as a pretty nice chance to remain once more - who is a real F1 champion before Alonso, Raikkonen and after them and many others to join the championship!
Alonso has such a loser personality he blamed the mechanics for this race even though they didnt have the fault hes just a loser that crew one him 2 titles .bastard
uh, it was their fault, though. they replaced the fronts but not the rears in the first round of stops, totally destroying the balance of his car and then they screwed up his 2nd stop, no doubt, costing him victory.
Fantastic win by Michael. His last win was also one of his best. Superb drive. Especially when you think of the gap to the next car with Bridgestone tyres.
