I'm all for civil liberties and due process of law. But it's true, even here in Canada, I'm always hearing about sex offenders back on the streets, and they're usually repeat offenders. Something stricter has to be done. I think it's better than spending our tax dollars putting them in and out of jail and through the courts all the time. In a free society, you should be able to make your own choices, but you should be able to deal with the consequences. i.e. if you molest kids, you will suffer.

When they are arrested and sent to jail that sets them straight and most do not re-offend again and just want a job, a place to live and to become working citizens again. The records show that most do not re-offend again. Of course there are a few that do and they should get a fair trial and sentenced again then be allowed to get on with their lives after sentence completed.

But I do have grave concerns with giving the government the power to tamper with people's bodies in such a fundamental way. For example, It's probably in society's interest to sterilize welfare moms - or men who father too many fatherless children. Brain surgery can correct certain negative behaviors - do we want to go there? Viscerally satisfying "feel good" solutions have consequences.

My only reason for questioning castration is in wondering if they find the real criminals guilty, and how many they might find not guilty to spare them the punishment (many judges are corrupt.) So, although with a different justice system I'd agree with the idea, with what we have today I have to say no.

I think it is a FANTASTIC idea and should be put into legislature for any type of sexual predator, so long as they have been proven guilty beyond a shadow of doubt. Not sure if castration goes far enough. Honestly feel that if we want to protect our children, either life sentence, or actual banishment to a penal colony (somewhere north of Baffin Island be good start) where they never have the chance to re offend

I doubt this will become law, heck most of the politicians, banker elites, Bilderberg group types would all be the first to get castrated. Even if this becomes law it still won't catch the most dangerous animals because they are protected by the law, Police, judges are put in place to make sure the ''elite'' wont get charged. They even have people in place at those child welfare places to snag potential victims with no family, these animals are very well organized.

revolutionofthemind I know this because I study and read unlike you that listens to TV lies and calls it fact. Most new sex offenses are by someone NOT on the register. Matter-a-fact they are by a parent, guardian or relative or close family friend. People who have problems need to have professional help, but if they go to psychologist the law requires the person to turn them in. So they can not go for help. Why? Because these laws are not about protecting children. It politics stupid!

@mamabearroars2 Good stuff! Don't forget those who do not need therapy. They committed a crime while drunk or high and their primary problem is drugs or alcohol but the system refuses to address those central problems. So such people continue on with their addiction, most likely committing other nonsexual crimes. Sex offenders should first be assessed for drug/alcohol and mental illness before we assume their primary issue is a sexual one.
