this is the first show that i have seen where multiple characters speak in english, and they do it well. especially momoko--thats the best english in the japanese version of an anime i have ever heard!! while most animes have characters still speak in japanese with the implication of them speaking in english, i really like how they actually speak english in ojamajo doremi~

I always thought Ojamajo Doremi is more "realistic" in terms of culture compared to Pita Ten because they do discuss cultural differences (i.e. Momoko wanting to understand Japanese culture some more, Aiko informing Momoko that being straightforward isn't the usual behavior in Japanese people). It just might be an artistic thing.

I should probably point out that Seki-sensei, the teacher, does NOT usually make such an enormous error. Usually, she's the one who understands students (in an early episode, she stood up for Yada when everyone else thought he was a bad boy, and in another early episode, she helps mend things between Tamaki and her father). The reason she screwed up so badly in this one case is because nobody told her that Momoko's earring belonged to a dead loved one (she thought Momoko was showing off).
