i like that you added your own spices. we take the easy route and just use chai masala that we get at the indian grocery store rather then gathering together the ingredients. i'll have to try it out the way you made it.

my family lives off of chai. ive been drinking it since i was 6 :) we have a similar variation, but we keep the tea boiling for a half an hour to get it super strong on a low temperature. also we boil the milk in a separate stove at the same time to get it to be really sweet so you would have to add less sugar. its amazing !

There aren't enough spices for the quantity of water and milk. It'll be weak like starbucks, and Nobody wants that! You need to about double the amounts. Be careful buying cardamom, get green not black. Black is used in curry. Also, it matters what kind of tea you use. Ceylon is good. For the milk, use whole to get the creamy full bodied texture. You don't need much. If you're counting calories, you get fewer using a small amount of whole over a large amount of skim. Plus, it tastes better!

Yum! I actually just got some of the powder form of oregon chai tea from walmart.. Love it! I usually get vanilla chai when i go to dunkin donuts too..

hi Benji, just wanted to say your rendition of chai is not bad at all! I'm indian and the way I was taught to make it was with crushed ginger, less milk, and only cardamon. I changed it up a bit since I love clove and cinnamon so I just added a bit of that, but you want to remember not to add too much as it will take away from the true chai flavor. Just thought I'd suggest but great job. Different versions are always welcome!

Hey Benji ! Great video.. Just a suggestion. When you make chai, try to put some mint leaves in as well when you add the tea in the water. I'm Indian & I love chai esp with mint ! It adds a bit more flavor & also kind of naturally sweetens it. =) If you try it, hope it works out !
