Unfortunately, government cannot provide for our needs. It simply doesn't work. It's been tried so many times and all that results is millions of corpses (Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao) and economic collapse.

The question I think is not "which system (free vs communal) is better?" but rather "which is worse?"

I think free markets produce fewer corpses - and the cause of death is more often simply being unfit for survival (a la Darwin) rather than killed by government, as is more often the case in communal economies:

Stalin: 30 million dead

Mao: 50 million dead

Pol Pot: 25% of the population dead

Interesting point. However, one could argue that the pursuit of capital and the pitfalls of a capitalist system has resulted in more deaths (consider working conditions both PRE & POST regulation--factory conditions, child labor,coal mines, employer-mandated hours, lack of health insurance & job-related deaths). Also, maybe its the MIS-application/corruption of communal theories that have caused those deaths, just like what occurs under a Free Market--without the immediate deaths.

As a single man without children, MY taxes (state sales taxes) go to pay for schools and public education. We all pay for something which other people benefit from...unjust wars, pet projects in another Congressman's district, etc. Just suck it up and stop crying.
