Dressing is my favorite Thanksgiving dish but I never get it right--until this year. thanks to this wonderful recipe. I was worried the 2 sticks of butter would be too much, but it kept everything moist, even for leftovers. We bought a whole bird this year so didn't get a chance to do the turkey breast, but next year we'll do that one, too. Thanks for the great video!
@prayingcolonel Wow, thank you so very much. I'm glad you enjoyed the dressing and were able to get it right. Now you got it! Congrats on a successful meal :)
@MrsChangingFaces I'm glad you're loving it, that's the best gift ever...you enjoying it. I worked on another version last night with spicy Italian sausage, OMG. Thanks Sweetie :)
God bless you. You're a sweetheart. Thanks for replying. I'm getting ready to watch your banana pudding recipe right at this moment. Is there an email that I can send you some recipes?
I'm so sorry! I literally feel guilty sending a note like that. My parents always taught me to obey my elders. And I must say that banana pudding was the bomb. It had my jaws a jumping and everything. I like the crust you did at the bottom. Kind of like a cheesecake, right?
@demiere1998 I'm glad you liked the banana pudding. But I didn't take offense to your first comment. I went to your channel and noticed you were young that's why I explained things the way I did. I have nieces and nephews your age and that's pretty much how I talk to them. I'd much rather explain something to a young person than deal with a mean adult. So, no harm done...this time :) lol Take care ok
When will you do more southern dishes? You do so many gourmet dishes. I would like you not to change or substitute recipes. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I'm sorry this note ain't to be taken harsh.
@demiere1998 Oh no offense taken. This is my spin on some of the dishes that I grew up with, my own sort of food art if you will. Believe it or not I'm not from the South. My parents and grand parents are, but I grew up in SOUTH Central Los Angeles and my recipes are my own expression of how Soul Food has, and sometimes, evolves into something different depending on the cook. But I understand you too.
@JaszyJasz21 Wow what an honor. Thanks so much I appreciate it. I'm constantly thinking about my beginning cooks, students & people on the go. What can I do to help them? So it's nice to hear that you like my recipes. Happy Cooking!
Love and Blessings Ms. Carolyn. Im gonna watch this 5 times tonight before I cook My homemade macncheese and collard greens are really good but I always failed epically at dressing. U R A LIFE SAVER THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Girl when I tell you this dressing is bomb oh my God.. I love it,, I'm making my second pan right now and hubby about to eat his hand lol.. Thanks you just gain a new subbie..
@kardodee Add the egg right into the mixture, after you add the broth is fine :) Yeah this was a year ago when I first started doing YT and I was horribly nervous. And I'll never forget this day, it was late and I was so sick that I just wanted to get it over with and my boyfriend (who was behind the camera) had to help me push thru. LOL
Thank you for your post. I made this recipe last year and absolutely loved it. The only thing I did wrong was to add store bought cornbread stuffing and the finished product was somewhat "cornbreaddy." Which is your suggestion for the flavor stuffing I should add? I notice that there are quite a variety in the stores. Thanks again.
@kardodee Any "seasoned cornbread mix" will do. Like Mrs. Cubbison's (I think that's how it's spelled) They come 2 bags in a box. I got mine on sale 1.99 per box.
This looks so good! I planned to make Turkey Breast and cornbread dressing already! I can't wait to try it. Your recipe looks amazing! You are so fun to watch as well! Will be checking back for more! :)

Also, you made mention of 1 beaten egg in the dressing recipe, but I did not see where that was used.

HI. When you said that this recipie will probably feed 6 to 8 ppl. Now are you talking about the actual cornbread or the dressing itself? Thank you.
BarbeeLuv1 1 year ago
@BarbeeLuv1 The dressing itself. And we're talking 6 to 8 large portions. You could probably get a few more if your family isn't greedy like mine LOL
