Hi, im an thinking of buying this guitar, is it a good guitar? doos quality and sound? im think of eather this one or a gibson les paul studio, what do you think?

@hassekarl Hard to say ... I would consider buying a Gretsch Electromatic and put some Gretsch-Filtertrons in (Instead of the stock Mini-Humbucker) But thats just what I would do ... You want to buy this guitars, so I would recommend testing them side by side.

I can honestly say I was more compelled to buy it than any other guitar I can remember, so I bought it..

@joeyrempe Also für White stripes und Raconteurs mMn ideal, da Mr. White auch zu den Gretsch-Fetischisten gehört ;) Für hendrix oder Nirvana bietet sich eher n SingleCoil Humbucker an, von daher kommt man mit dieser Gitarre vielleicht nicht so nah dran, wie es mit einer mit SCs der Fall wäre, aber das muss ja auch nicht unbedingt sein xD

@guitarkid222 Its your choice! I just can say that this Gretsch is a very cool guitar, I dont want to miss anymore ... and with the Filtertron it sounds different from any other guitar I played

@GuitarMats with 9 or 10 String Gauge its

a very goog lead guitar. is not as good in the high frets as an SG, but you can reach till the 17th fret without any problems

Im sorry but I think there is no left-hand version :( But maybe its possible to change the Bridge and Nut of it and the rebuild it as an lefthanded ... but it might look funny with the volume and tone knobs on the topside^^

Man, I can tell you really love this thing, and I am totally with you.. I used to have a silver one.. but the strap button stripped out and instead of filling it with putty I took it back to samash but they only have the singlecut and I settled for it cause I didn't want to make my parents make the 3 hour trip again.. take care of it. it's an amazing guitar.

On the original High Voltage LP (released in Oz in 74 & where most of the 74 Jailbreak is from...Jailbreak was originally on the Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap LP) they jus about shared the lead parts. Soulstripper was very much a 'twin lead' song with both exchanging lead parts. Malcolm did do the lead on Showbusiness, but Angus did Baby Please Don't Go & Love Song.

True. Malcolm played the majority of the solos on the album '74 Jailbreak, just like snookerkingexe said. Angus plays the solo on the title track, and another one I think, but listen to Malcolm, his style is EXACTLY like Angus's! Listen to Soul Stripper.

These are the so calles Gretsch Mini Humbucking Pickups. Low Output, so very good for clean and crunchy stuff ;)

is it hard to keep the strings in tune with the bigsby trem?

well if you modify the nut for 12-gauge strings (no modification for 10-gauge strings needed) and you let the strings go OVER the roll between bigsby and bridge and not underneath it, its no problem to keep it in tune ;) some graphite on the bridge and the nut and everything is OK ;)

It was 353€ new on ebay. It sounds absolutly awesome to me. perfect vor clean stuff und killing with a little bit of distortion, I love it!^^

And yeah its comfertable for ME, but I do not know whether it is for someone other ;) espacially with the 12th string gauge ;)
