  • @xtremecatcher4 what the heck r u talking about? it's not even a song?

  • Hey Lillypad!

My brother Darren Haverstick wrote this song that Cedar Hill did an awesome job with. I showed him your video and he thought it was AWESOME! If you look at the CD cover for "Portrait of a Song" (the Cedar Hill CD this is from) there is a picture of a man and a Walker hound. That is our dad and the real Pearl. Thanks so much for your great video! Dale Haverstick

  • This is a awesome song.makes me think of my beagle rabbit dog buddy he passed away a few days ago.rabbit season will nvr be the same.its gonna kill me when one of my coon hounds go.rip buddy miss ya i knw ur running rabbits up there.

  • Great song & excellent video. I had a tan & white beagle & she won my heart like no other. She didn't have no little high pitched yippy bark...no, her bark was deep & wall shaking resonant ....had to be, had to be a giant voice like that coming from one of the biggest hearts I've ever been blessed to know. How such a immense soul could be wrapped up in such a little beagle body- I'll never know. She died over 8 years ago & this song & video hits the mark dead on.

  • This song, makes me cry everytime!

Such, an amazing song. :') I will learn!

  • This is my FAVORITE Cedar Hill song. I was working 80 hours a week for a long time and I would literally sing this all day long and couldn't wait to get home to my beagle Sadie Mae.

  • I want to thank you all for the comments. I enjoyed doing this video and hope to do more some.

  • i apsolutely love this song i heard it on my dads cd and im goin to learn it :)

  • Thank you so much for this wonderful song between a man and his dog. My Dad and I used to take the dogs every chance we got. So many memories waiting for me to come and pick them up and hold them close to my heart. My Dad is resting now no more pain, and most of my dogs are gone. But I do have three that will be with me till the end. How can a guy go through life without a good dog by his side, I know that I won"t.So thank you from the center of my heart. an old Vermonter

  • I love your video. Certainly none of us in Cedar Hill could ever be offended by such a heart rendering video as you have made. Thank you. I just happened across it today, don't even know how actually but am glad I did. It blesses my heart. That is a beautiful, true song written by a wonderful Friend about his dad. They were from my part of the Ozarks. The group on this recording was Mel Besher, Kenny Cantrell, Irl Hees, my daughter in Law at the time Lisa Ray, and myself, Frank Ray.

  • @ozarkmando Thank you sir.

  • This is my absolute favorite song. I have a golden retriever, that is my best friend ever. We go hunting, fishing, running, and sleeping together. :) I just love the melody and tear-jerking words in this song!. :)

  • I just heard that song this morning on the radio. It's a sweet song and your video is well done. Thanks!

  • Beautiful. Love it! Thanks for sharing. It brought tears to my eyes. Pearl is here in the pics.

  • @luvthemusic73

I used some pretty 'pups' pics from the pc. Thank you.

  • @69Lillypad you found some dandies. Cedar Hill would be proud. (I was the fiddle player and harmony singer on the song). Speaking for myself, I love it!

  • @luvthemusic73 And you done a beautiful job Sis.
