Best song ever<3 i'm a coon hunter, its been in my family for 100's of years, i absolutley love it. aint nothing better, this song reminds me of my female dog rosie every time:)
My brother Darren Haverstick wrote this song that Cedar Hill did an awesome job with. I showed him your video and he thought it was AWESOME! If you look at the CD cover for "Portrait of a Song" (the Cedar Hill CD this is from) there is a picture of a man and a Walker hound. That is our dad and the real Pearl. Great song & excellent video. I had a tan & white beagle & she won my heart like no other. She didn't have no little high pitched yippy bark...no, her bark was deep & wall shaking resonant ....had to be, had to be a giant voice like that coming from one of the biggest hearts I've ever been blessed to know. How such a immense soul could be wrapped up in such a little beagle body- I'll never know. She died over 8 years ago & this song & video hits the mark dead on.
This is my FAVORITE Cedar Hill song. I was working 80 hours a week for a long time and I would literally sing this all day long and couldn't wait to get home to my beagle Sadie Mae.

I just happened across it today, don't even know how actually but am glad I did. It blesses my heart. That is a beautiful, true song written by a wonderful Friend about his dad. They were from my part of the Ozarks. The group on this recording was Mel Besher, Kenny Cantrell, Irl Hees, my daughter in Law at the time Lisa Ray, and myself, Frank Ray.
This is my absolute favorite song. I have a golden retriever, that is my best friend ever. We go hunting, fishing, running, and sleeping together. :) I just love the melody and tear-jerking words in this song!. :)
