  • intuitive as well as easily understandable

  • Great video, a perfect example of the blind fast punch, is Sergio Martinez against Paul Williams part 2. Again great video!

  • Ha agent smith

  • Bas Rutten used to also wave the right hand some times before delivering a kick to the liver. Thanks for another great and knowledge packed video.

    Peace.

  • Good, solid advice. Thus far, from what I've seen, all of your technical information is spot on and based on good verifiable scientific fact.

You obviously know your stuff. There's alot of crap out there, and its nice to see someone keeping it real. Thanks for your uploads.

  • great vid i have troubling using back fists with any effectiveness in sparring so i don't even practice it anymore could you show me some simple and valid back fist combinations ?

  • Has anyone ever told you that you sound alot like agent Smith?

  • for how long time have you practised martial art ?

  • I enjoy your info as it is not too difficult to understand....from a regular good fellow!

I think you could be a v. good 5k or 10k runner too. anyway,,,thanx for sharing!

  • I used to train for marathons with my brother back in college. I never did compete in one, however. Thanks for the comment!

  • hi balletman how long do u really take to develop the speed in ur arms and how do u know if u hv developed it ? thx pal

  • Thanks for the tips man :-)

  • ok it is goood

but the wing chun punshes what he does it calles chain punsches and u don´t rotate ur hips... its a little bit different to normal punsches but they have a lot of speeeed and speed is power.... the taekwondo moves are good but by the practise u didnt turn ur hips because u have to train ur legs.. u can search the TKD double roundhouse kciks and u will see that this kind of training really hart is and different to this video ( look up :P )

  • and no i´m not a master but i can say somerting about that because i´m a TKD and VT fan an some of my friends are in tkd ore vt ( wc )

    ....

    peace

    greetings from germany ;)

  • Right on, I'm glad I subscribed to your videos.

  • thank you speed master

  • i ones was fighting in a karate competition in denmark, and the dude i was fightng started screaming like a monkey:P that was the weirdes fake i have ever seen! i just startit laughing during the fight:P(srry for my englisch, i'm from holland)

  • That's funny. My niece uses a similar distraction technique when we spar, she'll start shouting random words, it's hilarious.

  • hahaha LOL, i would like to spar with her:P i realy liked your vedios btw i realy learnd from them.

  • i learned that from hmmc in honolulu, its a kickboxing academy, but i didnt say all the numbers, 7 is lead leg push kick, 8 is back push kick, 9 it lead leg switch roundhouse, 10 is back round house, 11 is lead leg knee, 12 is back knee

  • Sounds like we use different terminology for pad-work.

  • some of ur # r off, 1 is jab, 2 is straight cross, 3 lead hook, 4 overhand right, 5 lead uppercut, 6 back uppercut,

  • Who taught you that?

  • Thanks for the speed drills brotha!

  • kool why not rate mine!!!

  • ninjutsu, tkd, boxing, etc, wow! congratulations man! and for what i saw you really know what you are talking about. cheers man, tks a lot for the tips!

  • when you spun at 5:30ish i was like, oh damn.

  • Hi, hey Please tell me: what I can do, to be faster with punch, I have power, force, but I'm slow with my arms... Bye

  • thin arms........

  • ...and?

  • what does the fact he have thin arms have to do with how fast or hard he hits? I bet you're one of the guys who got beat up by a 5 foot tall asian kid in school because you thought he had "thin arms" and couldn't defend himself weren't you?

  • not really but, i think its look better when your arms have muscels :D

  • Muscles twist. muscles.. you better go see mr bodybuilding. this is martial arts. for sports, fitness or self defense. thin arms or not.

  • okeeee

  • nice one.tip to increase speed- lift heavy weights slowly, yes it will make you stiff so make sure you stretch.try it for 2 months then have 2 weeks off it and you will be surprised.n.b. you will be slower during the period of lifting, don't be concerned you will be faster after the 2 week time away from lifting.

  • one time, i was in a karate fight with a dude who started to screem like a monkey:P

  • Ramsey , why not do both the set ups and main attack with speed AND power ?

  • If you have all those tools in your arsenal, use them.

  • In my opinion what You show here is very good

  • very useful tutorial, thanks

  • It's geek fighting watch out!!

  • Damned straight!

  • thats pretty sweet lol im known as like the fastest fighter to ppl lol so i understand alot of that.......i wanna learn more kicks and stuff like u had ur elbows and kicks and stuff that was sweet i know those i just dont pratice them much.......

  • Look at 8:51, simply awesome. The legs blurred for a few seconds.

  • cok güzell gercekden pırovo pırfösönlce vurşlar ism neydi nerden bu arda senin gibi hocam olsun ben dünya şanpyonu olrum

  • lol the ending was awesome/ hilarious cause the camera couldnt catch it. I was wondering how tall you were and what size gloves you wore. i am looking at a pair of hayabusa mma gloves and im 6"3 and scrawny as a skeleton so i was wondering what size youd recomend or if i needed to buy larg/ x lrg and wear wraps underneath to fill em out. you seem to have a good handle on this sorta stuff.

  • hey i know that u know that stuff better than me but i do not agree with you on the speed and illusion for ex:when i see alex snaddon (muay thai profetional):go check his highlites his very fast on his kick ,faster then you (im not saying that his better than you ) he just did only muay thai and u did mma and i respect you for that But im sure there is some fast guys who can knock ppl easly i saw alots of them bruce lee his really fast and strong .

  • thanks man great help

  • U want a good exemple of an illussion type fighter just watch any roy jones fight. He distracted his opponents and landed the KO punch right after. Some called him a show boater but thats just how he won fights

  • I know what you mean. Roy Jones is a perfect example of a good set up.

  • student:"master, how can i kick faster?"

    master:"kick faster"

  • Hehehe... pretty much. That's what it comes down to.

"Possunt quia posse videnture", a Roman proverb (They can because they see that they can)

  • I don't think this guy fully understands muscle fibres but he makes some good points.

  • you are, fucking awesome lol

  • I had a discussion with my friend about power punching lately. He said the best way to increase speed/power is to work out in a gym, build new muscles. I said the best way is shadow boxing and punching while holding weights (I use 2kg), condition the muscles. Who's right?

  • Neither. Resistance training won't increase speed- only tensile muscular strength.

  • Really? It actually worked for me, I see that my speed has increased. And I know that for example Fedor from PRIDE does shadow boxing with weights. It's also a common practice in both Chinese and Japanese Martial Arts.

  • Your right it does help. It doesnt make you grow anymore fast twitch muscle fibers, but it does make the technique easier to throw and it developes muscle memory, so it is easier for the muscle to make that motion.

  • Slow twitch/ red (highly vascular therefore endurent) = Long distance athlete

Fast twitch A/ pink (intermediate blood supply) = Boxer/ strikers muscle

Fast twitch B/ white (lots of muscle fibres short burst anaerobic) = Wrestler/ power lifter. Red = High reps low resistance. White = High resistance low reps.

  • Pink = ?

  • Midrange resistance or alternating work outs. Your body will adapt to the stresses you place on it. Your muscle type is determined both by genetics and training so be aware of your own bodies abilities and keep training broad.

  • where did you learn that

  • I could be wrong. Im just a remedial masseuse and i think it was covered in the sports physiology module. We did quite a lot of musculoskeletal stuff.

  • oh thats cool im in medical assistant school and they dont teach us stuff like that but i think its cool to know

  • See gang, this guy knows the MMA game!

  • Your videos are freaking awesome , I've been looking for instructionals like these forever, these have really helped me. And I've just ordered my new punching bag , so I've got alot of new things to practice on it!

  • as usually this guy is really good thanks man u hv helped me tonnes of times and now and won many matches casue of u . I hope u could make anyother vid about how to increase speed in kicks that 1 i would really aprreatiate. bb ! thx

  • Nice. Well-spoken and intelligent approach to helping people with the basic elements. Look forward to seeing more from you. Thanks.

  • just what i nedded since my boxing skillz are so poor lol XD please i would like you to watch one of my videos wich is called Anthony Vs Firaz since your criticism is actually constructive criticism and thats what i need from a pro like u... THANKS i really like this videos keep it up!

  • that would be great, and if possible could you do some tae kwon do set ups as well?

  • Sure I'll probably have some time later this week. I can tell you right now- in WTF TKD, use your side kick with your front leg as your jab, and just like the jab in boxing, you can use it to set up combos. I'll show you how.

Not too many people do that in TKD competition and hence many TKD matches often turn into fits of sloppy flailing round kicks with very little technique involved.

  • thank you very much for this video i for one appreciate it,i do tae kwon do and so that one is gonna come in handy, though is there anything else one can do to speed up kicks?

  • Absolutely. This video focused mainly on boxing. I might just have to do a TKD specific kicking drill video. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Sorry, the audio is slightly off. Not sure why.
