  • i've sadi it once and i'll say it again she and her voice are truely beautiful

  • Ah'm scunnert wae Scots singers yasin English in Scots songs. Is it embarrassment that they seek to distance themselves from the language of our fathers? Ah like yer voice hen bit yer cringe is showin.

  • Shes a good singer but Isobel Baillie is much better at singing this, also Karen Matheson for me is a better singer but Eddi is good also

  • I'm transported back to the Strathclyde. Thank you.

  • Totaly addicted to her Burns CD. The Bard's Poetry transformed into Music. Inspiring and truly beautiful. I recited this Poem when I was 10 years old for The Burns Competition. lol

  • jfbecks17 this version is better

  • Okie Dokie folks. Here comes that asshole Starr to burst the bubble. My God this woman has such an incredible voice. I watched the video and her EYES. The eyes don' t lie. Here is a woman that is repressed. I can feel in the tone and the eyes that she wants to take the mike and kick the stand and sing it her way. And I would predict, she will just blow you away/.

  • If anyone wants to hear an especially beautiful version, try to look up John Anderson by Mhairi Lawson.

  • Just love this! Many thanks to you and to reliablebow who shared with us! Bright stars and hugs..Jan and Susan ♥

  • beautiful all the way around

  • Thank you so much for this wonderful share dear friend. Bless you..Jan and Susan ♥

  • I had to recite this when I was 9 years old for The School Burns Competition. I was up sick during the night with worry, and the next day when I stood up to recite it my hands were sweating and my teeth were chittering (Pathetic or what?) needless to say I didnt win - Childhood Memories - or should I say Traumas lol

  • Jo is a term of endearment such as, bumchiner said, My dear or my darling.

  • This is a nice song.

  • Jo is just a shortened version of john.

  • jo is a term for love in auld scots, listen to the lea rig also by burns my jo is like my darling

  • its actually the scottish pronounciation of joy. They tend to cut out the last sound of the word

  • rosstyuk Thank you, I will go with the Joy thing as John is a man and Rabbie did he do both ways ? :) Wat eva the reason this Song as sung here, is now super glued in ma Heid

  • love her vocals but really annoyed by her hand movements

  • keep yer hands in yer pockets then

  • Can anyone explain wat "My Jo" means as eddi sings this in Rabbies songs, Yup as a Expat Scot,,,,,, I feel a Numpty oer this, my ignorance

  • Keirfree, there are 2 possible translations: one is it's short for joy and the other is that it means sweetheart.

  • such a pure beautiful voice, amazing.

  • i love this version of the song it is fabulous!!! does anyone know where the sheet music is avaliable for this arrangement?
