  • took a ride on this lrt system while visiting edmonton, nice cars but they are very slow for some reason

  • This video of the Edmonton southbound LRT from Clareview to Health Sciences is good but now the LRT runs to Century Park and minion986 made a timelapse SD 160 LRT video from Clareview to Century Park and the underground parts turned out much better then in your old ones.It will make you think of coming back to Edmonton.

  • What kind of movie maker did you use?

  • you driver or looked at window

  • What city?

  • @SickTechShow Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

  • one of the stops i get off at is beside a stadium and is also known as South Campus Station.

  • great video !

  • how many minutes would it take from claireview to south campus?

  • @PhotoBurst 20-25 maybe even 30 minutes

  • lol nice video

  • good for Edmonton having an electric train but it seems pretty stupid to run a rapid transit line across city streets like that.

  • EdmDude, I have been to the LRT of Edmonton:

    Central-Coliseum

    Grandin-Coliseum

    University-Belvedere.

  • Stadium Station was my most used station. I doný know why they copied the C-Train style bing bongs, lol.

The old Edm announcer girl, alot of people said she sounded hot, lol.

  • ^_^

  • lmfao coloseum and stadium arent bad... coloseum used to be bad but it was me ands my friedns who started getting cops there and we grew up lol i know half the damn city i use to live 6 blocks away from coloseum ahahah ,,, but i do miss edmonton so bad

  • I had no comment about that ~,~

  • @jackieliem2007 me too

  • taking university to stadium lrt and getting off at the LRT at the stadium is scary lol, my friends got mugged almost at stadium station.

  • sometimes Stadium and Coliseum are the dangerous place on ETS transit center, because I used to live somewhere near stadium ^O^

  • Cool!

  • thank you !

  • im frum edmonton

  • lol i am in edmonton.. how u get the 66 route lol i take that every day for school, not eveyrday

  • I miss these trains.I had a set of songs I listened to while riding them. Sometimes ride for fun. *sigh* Imma go back.

  • I miss those LRT too,

I hope I have a chance to go back to Edmonton !

  • Drive is very fitting :P

  • On a cold and grey Edmonton morning

    another baby child is born

    in the ghetto.

    and his mama cries

    then she sparks her pipe

cause if they'res one thing that she don't need

its to push a baby stroller up ninety-seventh street,

    in the ghetto.

  • Why don't they call it the E-Train like Calgary's C-Train?

I used to take the LRT to work when I worked at the UofA hospital and lived in Clareview.

  • I have no idea why =,=

  • Why doesn't Calgary call its system "LRT" like Edmonton does?

Calgary may be a fine city but that doesn't mean other cities need to answer for being themselves.

  • Because it was where light rail was tested first in NA. No marketing names.

  • ???

  • I live on the west end of edmonton so I hardly get ride the train. I wish it came to

    the west side.

  • I think they had a plan for the West LRT to WEM !!!

  • hey thanks, jrailfan! cool video with cool music :)

  • you welcome ^^,

your video also nice for me too @@

  • I rode that thing everyday last year! Cool vid.

  • Thank ~

  • Curious, how much is this video sped up? how long does it take in real time to get from one end of the line to the other? I live in Winnipeg where all we have is buses, and they really suck. a drive that takes me 20 minutes takes over an hour by bus, I really wish they would consider something like this here.

  • Hey,

I speed this video by 4 times,

meaning the real ride will take 22 minutes ^^

  • is that the whole route???!!!!

up here the main line takes 1Hr.1/2 one way the branch is 8 miles long and takes 17-20 min

i also wounder why they didnt use

    concrete ties

man i wish i could make a vid like this but if i tried metro would shoot me

they go nuts when someone is fliming the train and the gaurds are now armed

btw great vid love it five stars

  • yep !

this is the whole route for now,

and It will longer in next year.

p.s: the gaurds are armed ! lol!

  • wow its kinda short

    well thats neat

i still wounder why concrete ties wernt used for the whole route it would be a nicer ride

so u got armed gaurds too man its nuts u got to get the ok to flim the darn train

  • Because it is a older system, first lrt in north america. Contrete tie were not thought of back then but our new south lrt will be using them.

  • ahh

so this track is older than the 80's

concrete ties were still used back then but not like they are now

i dont think its the first lrt in north america

  • yes, we build the first LRT in N. America ^^

  • wow i thought la did so this merto is over 20 years old

i guess light rail didnt catch on in canada

edmonton has only a 20 min ride thats sad

our metro in st louis is a litle over 10 years old and is over 40miles long

same with dart rail in dallas 1996

its 45miles long and there building two more lines now green and orange that will double that should be complete by 2010

    and metro in La huge

its sad it didnt catch on

    thanks for replying

  • That was fun and nostalgic...thanks!

  • Thank !

  • I mean't the city of vancouver in BC canada

has a bigger and advance system than edmonton as well.

  • I think you have to compare the population of two cites ~.~

  • I least it will be a little bit more modern and bigger when the mass contruction is complete(SLRT,NWLRT and West LRT. Vancoucer also has driverless train and there getting a

whole new underground/elevated subway with the similiar korean made cars as hong kong.

  • There are no way to compare Hong Kong and Edmonton, that it, end of story ~\/~

  • The intro tone sounded like tokyos Yamanote line. I live in Edmonton and I can tell our

subway is tiny and ancient compared to the advance systems in asia. Jackieliem why would

you praise our system when the MTR in your

country of Hong Hong is far bigger and uses

more advance technology. "Platform edge doors"

  • I known that Hong Kong MTR is more better than Edmonton Transit LRT,

because as you said the advance technology like Platform screen door,

    and Auto Train Operation ^^

Edmonton LRT is just like an Toy for me ~.~

  • I miss that old Water Tower, lol. and the old Bing Bong, lol. now its like Calgarys...:P

  • lol !

    thank you for your comment,

and NO ONE in Edmonton like Calgary !!'

    GO Oilers GO !

  • nice music!

  • Thank !

  • That bridge is NOT Highlevel bridge,

    It is for Streetcar

LRT bridge is called "Dudley B. Menzies Bridge"

  • I visited Edmonton in Feb and Aug of 2007. At about 4:10 yu can see the higlevel bridge, i really wana see one of the ETS trains go over it. both times i was there it was closed kuz once it was winter and the second time in aug there was some festival going on and it was set up over the tracks :S:S

  • I love the underground stations.

  • Thank,

This LRT network have 5 downtown stations + 1 U of A station are underground ^^

  • Reminds me of taking the LRT home from an Oilers / Eskimoes game. "Packed inside a train, you just cant complain, on the subway, SUBWAYY!! - lol

  • It is not that bad ^^

  • looks cool i use to take the trian from stadium to belvadere whene i was like in grade 7 all the time sweat music

  • thank

  • great video st louis mo has a metro link but sadly they dont let u flim ar take pic of it (stupid rule)

  • I can Film and take picture in the station, but I had to email the ETS Security first

  • thats my city, great music too who makes it? it goes in the glorious and victorios catagory

  • Thank You ^.~

  • That is what i think ^^

  • Whoops, not Groat Road! Belgravia Road! my bad

  • Really !? Thank you for the info.

  • I passed by the T-Section of roadway on Groat Road where the Bus Lane is supposed to be built. That is a chunk of land they'll have to take out to make it! I also saw a glimpse of the South Campus Stations (bus+LRT) while on the Route 4.

  • cool

  • Nice Video Bro.....

This video can be our advertisement of Edmonton Transit System...........

  • Thank You ^.~,

Also I want to tell you about the ETS Peace officers are saying that I am a "Terrorist" . Is that really happen, or did you take any action like fire that bitch !!!!

  • yea edmonton transit kicks ass when compared to hong kong toronto vancouver and even calgary beleive me i know

  • Really !?

  • LOL are you kidding

    i live in edmonton

but the LRT is not taht great

    like its so gettto!!!

i like hong kong MRT better.
