ALL these shows seem to have illustrious actors in them! It's amazing. But I guess this one was pretty cutting-edge. Who is that host? I know his voice.

That was the time Reynolds changed their ad campaign for Camel, moving away from doctor and celebrity endorsements, and using James Daly to "pitch" the brand. Remember the line he used in 1959- "Are you smoking more, but enjoying it less?".

James Daly was Camel's chief spokesman during this period (and was until about 1961)- R.J. Reynolds was one of the primary sponsors of "PLAYHOUSE 90", and they got their money's worth!

Pretty straightforward -- no pretenses about how "doctors recommmend" the brand or any of that. Just a manly appeal, which I'm sure worked quite well.
