  • So humble and intelligent. Love Matt Cutts!

  • Google may not want to hear this or believe it, but we ran a serious controlled A/B test of page caching that delivered a consistent 0.5+ second page load performance improvement but delivered ZERO conversion or profit per visitor improvement for our e-commerce site (PR7). The test was so counterintuitive that we repeated it twice, eventually splitting over 20 million visits. Performance of the faster cached pages actually started to lag the control. We could not justify the expense.

  • The link between speed and money is real. A one-stop shop increasing website speeds at low cost is SPEEDILICIOUS.

The service automates more than 25 of the sorts of techniques Matt mentions...and gives you Akamai-like Content Deliver Network (CDN) functionality to bring your site closer to viewers.

  • Nice strategy. I bet it is effective. Look at Google now.

  • Faster and faster speed to save Google server time and cash

  • yes, sometimes just getting everyone's approval on an SEO plan is the most difficult part. If everyone can see eye to eye it makes the whole process much easier.

  • Very good for 2011 strategy

  • Hi Mat,

How exactly do i know if my website is slow or quick...I want to optimize for speed?

Is Speed Optimization a key factor when deciding on a Hosting provider? if so, How do can we make sure the hosting we are choosing offers great speed optimization?

    Cheers

  • SEO is obviously still right at the top of the list and this is stipulated here. It seems that the more unique content that we have with excellent articles on a single website or blog will help to speed up that website/blog to the top of the search engines for the keywords it pertains too.

Best to keep our well written pages to our own blogs.

  • I think it was already happening in some ways, but is now universal. Google always anticipates where customers are and helps connect them to quality content when they are looking for it. Social Media is where audience interaction begins and that's where you need to get your content put out in various forms.

  • Hey Matt, well we have been telling our customers this since we began! Nice to get it from the top. Cheers

  • Good Question!

  • Good Video Matt... SMM=throwing stuff at the wall!, the more you throw the more sticks.

  • The thing that slows down a website more than anything else is analytics and adsense ads. maybe google should think aout speeding their end up.

  • @phlaktrak Oh, yes could not agree more. After beating my head using Yslow and Firebug to trim my pages, what really slows down is adsense...

  • Google is all about Social, Local, Mobile & Video!

  • Is Matt kicking his desk in this video?

  • Can someone please tell me how I ask Matt a question?

  • This is by far one of your better videos. Very informative and to the point. Thanks for the tips!

  • Why does everyone kiss this guy's a%%? Everything he's saying is common sense for any professional SEO.

  • @businesstimeinc Because not everybody is a proffesional SEO.

This channel helped me understand a lot of things, back when I was just starting out.

  • @businesstimeinc Why watch if your so above it?

  • Thank You!

  • Wow, great help.

  • This was good. Amen.

  • Please add captions to Webmaster Help videos. I cannot understand the speakers without them.

  • don't go on reddit and spam, its annoying and ends in a DDOS , don't spam!
