See, this is why I hate this shit. The guy is "good" in their eyes so they praise his talent and pretend he's not fat and ugly, but if he would have sucked they all would have laughed and made him look foolish and untalented, lumping him with the fat, ugly, untalented crowd. the way you pronunciate while singing in english is the same way you do while talking with an american accent. Some people you can still tell their accent like Danny Warsnop, but often the accent dissapears because the American accent allows you to hit all the notes. Plus you more focused on pronuceateing and many singers learn sining by listening to others sing who often sing with an american accent. Sining and talking are practicaly different languages when learning to do either.
