  • 6 people couldn't become a hero

  • This song is so wonderful...

  • How can 6 people don´t like it!?!?! i can´t believe

  • This song is just epic...everytime i hear it, i get a strange feeling of sadness...even though we knew what would happen in the end...it´s just unfair what happened to him!! This song ilustrate that!!

  • This game NEEDS to be a PSP Remaster-thingy. Crisis Core in HD? YES PLEASE.

I also want it to come out on ps3 so my friends will be able to play it. Suck an amazing game shouldn't be tied to just a handheld IMO!

  • Zack died as he lived: A hero

  • This song is so beautiful.

  • One of only two games (the other being Lost Odyssey) to make me cry. Best ending to any videogame, ever.

  • Wow... Its been awhile since i played any FF games... Im... Almost crying... This game was FUCKING AMAHZINGO!

  • No words to describe the hype i get from this music. And when you go through the game, the moment in wich this song plays is memorable. This is, indeed one of the best VGM ever.

  • No Moonlight Wanderer? No Under the Apple Tree? No Melody of Agony? Seriously man, you suck on that point :s Even if I like your selection of musics, on that point you suck :(

  • @Witsarunemitea umm on what point does he sucks?... the one when he dind't put the music YOU like on the list?... well if you read the descripcion box you'll see something like "A collection of MY favorite videogame music".. So....

  • @attoloco I think I noticed it already thank you. Does that mean I can't give my opinion about his list?

Everybody shall shut their mouth because of that? :o

I'm just sayin' he could've put these musics in the list because they're also beautiful.

    Whatever...

  • @Witsarunemitea i'm not saying you can't give your opinion...but saying "you suck" is not really that much of an opinion... but you know ..."Whatever"...

  • Comment removed

  • @Witsarunemitea I respect your choices, but think about this: by mentioning one epic song, people will relate to the others, such as those you mentioned. Personally, i liked this one more than the others, but i wish he instead chose "Fufilled Desire".

  • @Victor7Wolf Well, I know choices must be done, I think I'd be a little more OK if he had put only Under the Apple Tree at least =s

  • I've cried too many times tonight.

  • best game ever

  • Damn it, Supra, I need to go to bed.

  • I'm crying right now. Mainly because of this music, but also because i'd like to own a PSP.

  • Finished this game a few months ago and enjoyed it all the way through. Storyline was fantastic, music was wonderful, gameplay was fun and even though the battle system was hard to get into at first, it still was good. This scene made me cry so much though and when this song came on, I just put the PSP down and watched the scene.

  • this song has a nostalgic memento to it... It's been maybe 2 years since i have heard it? and brings me back to a different time and place... what happens when I am actually a whole decade older and i stumble across this

  • @JamesLamon thats what im thinking... :D

  • I cried during this scene ...

    >,>;

  • @BoysBoysBoysify i did too. if someone did not cry during this they must be either a communist or part of the Shinra Corporation

  • FF 7 CC was the only FF 7 game i enjoyed

  • @HuskersAlex get out

  • this game was pretty good, the only thing i did not like, the thing that almost made me HATE the game, was how easily you could tell where a battle will happen. Those huge open circle areas randomly, walking down a corridor and it mysteriously open up into a circle, like everywhere, was kinda annoying =/ i like random battles, not knowing what your walking into, being like o SHI* damn monsters...but in this game it sadly let me down how you could tell where the encounters were =/

  • @lilprplebnny Some people, however, would love FF7CC because of that. I think this is a good system, and I really loved playing this game. I just want to do it again when listening to this track. God, why did you finish so soon, Crisis Core ?

  • Song totally belongs on this list, this game had it all and this song summed up. It gave you the feeling that if you just tried ALITTLE harder you could have gotten Zack through it. What a masterpiece game and epic song to close with.

  • I want this song to play when I'm fighting a hopeless battle. I'd still do as much damage as I could, though. A legacy?

  • "The price of Freedom is steep."

  • how could 3 people not like this song? they are heartless fools

  • this song is brilliant even if u havent played the game but then if u play it u realise the meaning behind it...

  • Ain't That Cid's Theme but just a lil bit slowed down??? I can clearly hear cid's theme in this one

  • Thanks a lot fuckin video, now i gotta clean the mess off my pants

  • This song reminds you of something sad will happen and whatever actions you take, it is futile because it will still happen =(

  • Tears in my Eyes..

  • You gotta love the FInal Fantasy VII compilation! The compilation is proof that VII is the most successful Final Fantasy ever! Let's hope more additions will be made to the compilation!

  • the song is making me teary eyed all over again

all zack wanted to do was be a hero :'(

  • @ConvoyGTR

To me, he turned out to be one of the greatest of all FF hero´s

  • I kinda want to get a PSP just because of this song

  • To be honest, I thought this track would be MUCH higher. Top 100 easy.

  • @Light513

    Lol, the list isn't ranked.

  • i first time i got to the last part of the game and this music played, i tried to survive forever... the batteries were dying and i finally lost to some lameass chopper missle+grenade combo orwhatever. i honestly think it wouldnt be stupid to buy a psp just to play this game

  • Zack is a true hero. He fought millions of men armed with guns with just a sword and all for his freedom. I know this may sound gay but Square Enix have made such an inspirational character. And whenever this song plays I think about the last scene and think to myself "Now Zack is the hero of video game characters."

  • One thing I hated about Crisis Core was how there was about five different tracks which were edited and repeated. Game was enjoyable but the music were not even close the goodness of the old FF7 musics.

  • a single man vs an entire army... the last scene was simply awesome... slowly every feeling and memory fading away...

  • Damn.

I was THISSSSSSSSSSSSSSS close to cry when he died.

    AMAZING game love FF7!!

  • @ayw9898 I did start crying when he died xD

  • In living memory of a dear friend, a fierce fighter, and a true hero,

you will be missed Zack Fair.

    Cloud Strife

  • Man... I cry every time I hear this song.. It's so touching... Zack is definitely a million times better than Cloud and Sephiroth combined.... So sad that he died though.... This song gets me every time but I still love it. Zack is the best! "Protect your honor.... As SOLDIER!"

  • @JDoran24 HEY! true hero's never die :')

  • zack u are and u always will be so much greater than cloud !!!

    hail !! :)

  • Zack is the most likable, down-to-earth, friendly and heroic protagonist I've ever seen. He didn't seem cliche, either, just very.... human. I'm 21 years old and not ashamed in the least to say I still see him as a sort of role model, even if he is just a Final Fantasy character...

    Man, I loved this game.

  • I wouldn't say the most...but he definitely places very high. Yes he would be a very good role model to follow.

  • @Solvanderlyn

And you shouldn´t be...i see him as a role model in a way too...in my opinion, he´s greater than Cloud

  • greatest song evar

  • best song

  • but I still ask the question "Why does Sephiroth turn side?" Is it because of his mother's jenova cell history that made him realize he wasn't really human?

  • When he read the books at the Shin-Ra mansion, he believed that his mother, Jenova, was a Cetra. He believed that humans betrayed and destroyed the Cetra, and that he, as the last survivor of that race, was the only living creature that could inherit the entire planet.

He then wanted revenge against Shin-Ra because they created him in an experiment and used his "mother" as a guinea pig.

He thought humans were inferior, treacherous beings.

  • But he wasn't the last of his race. There was Aerith. !!!!!SPOILER!!!!! So then why did he kill Aerith?

  • When Sephiroth thought he was an Ancient (Thing that probably lasted less than a day, anyways), maybe he just didn't know about Aerith being an Ancient?

  • Ok, so ignore my previous message, I remember now. By the time of Final Fantasy VII, Sephiroth already knew that he was NOT an Ancient.

He knew what JENOVA was, he knew what he was.

His new objective was to absorb the Lifestream to become a god. Aerith was trying to stop him by summoning Holy, so good ol' Seph had her killed, thus removing his main obstacle.

  • ohhh. that makes sense.

  • cos the person that killed aerith wasnt sephiroth, it was .........

    JENOVA.

And Jenova knew Aerith was doing.

Anyway Sephiroth was already dead before the game even begins. Despite appearing multiple times in the games, it is revealed that it was Jenova who was taking his shape.

Sephiroth's body was sealed in Northern Crater all along.

  • Does that mean that when its 1 on 1 with cloud and sephiroth, that was actually jenova?

  • Nope, that was truly sephiroth (need verification on that)

  • yes it was the real sephiroth

  • Not really, starting CD 2 after cloud disapears in the river of life. Sephiroth is back again as himself, he sets off meteor et holds still in the northen crater until you come and kick his butt. He then dies when you omnislash him.

The theory that it is Jenova that controls the image of sephiroth througout the first chunk of story is possible but unverified.

  • sephiroth was controlling th jenova from the northern cave his will was to strong

  • @Sayishere right. the sephiroth you see running around in the game is actually Jenova being used like a puppet by Sephiroth. Thats why you ended up fighting Jenova after a lot of the Sephiroth encounters. The real Sephiroth never left the northern cave.

  • Its not really a spoiler anymore

    Mostly everyone knows this.

  • "You're wrong. Those are not the wings of a monster."

    "Then, what are they?"

    "Angel's wings."

"I see. Then what should an angel fight for? What do angels dream of?"

    "Angeal..."

    "Angels dream of one thing."

    "Please. Tell me."

    "To be human."

One of the best songs and best scenes in Final Fantasy.

Gives you that sad feeling of losing a mentor and special friend and learning the actual truth behind their actions and all they want is to be free from their suffering and the lies they're told

  • Kind of makes Sephiroth seem friendlier and moe rational than in the original FF7... His actions actually make sense after CC: FF7.

  • Death ... is the Price of Freedom X__X

    I love this Song.

  • Q___Q

    I love it!!!!

    Is so beautiful *--*

    ;__;

  • *Joins in on air guitar.*

  • i knew what would happen...but...phew..that scene was the saddest thing ive ever saw...

  • The scene that plays during this song must be amazing.

  • @GebouYeah It is amazing. Most of the battle themes throughout the game are metal or hard rock but when zak gets attacked by soldier at the end this song plays. surrounded and outnumbered there was only one way it could end and this song really captures the emotions. i nearly cried before the battle had even finished.

  • @GebouYeah I've played the game and the scene that is paired with this song is actually perfect for it. Does rather drive you to tears no matter how macho you may be.

  • @GebouYeah The main character dies and then ascends

  • @GebouYeah scene and a fight but still if you liked the original final fantasy 7 youll love this one

  • @GebouYeah oh ya it is lol one of the only game that has caused me to cry and as far as i can read alot of other people to lol

  • @GebouYeah From what I remember the song plays when Zack fights an endless amount of SOLDIERS and it doesn't end well...

  • @VOLVIGAI u should play MGS3 first to give this game a title of best end in games :)

  • @xxEoLxx what is MGS3?

  • @VOLVIGAI Metal Gear Solid 3

  • Comment removed

  • I fuckin' cryed at the end of this game even if I knew what was goin' to happen :'(

  • me too, and I cried the second time

    Zack pawns Cloud so much

  • You can't compare the two..i just don't think that's right.

  • Maybe not but IN Crisis core Zack is Awesome and clouds just..there although cloud is cool in advent children

  • Man, I love this song... <3

  • I disagree with many people here, I think this is one of the more powerful songs in the Final Fantasy series.

  • "The price of freedom is steep. Embrace your dreams and protect your honor as SOLDIER!"

  • you haven't played the game. try playing it

there is something deep within this song :)

  • Oh... well I guess I'll have to get my hands on the game to see what the meaning is. Of course I'd play it for the game and not just for the song haha.

  • agree totally man

im was on verge on tears after i fin the game and hearing this song

  • i disagree, listen to it again, its quite well thought out and has a nice foundantion to lead over.i will admit it needed a 3rd solo but all the same its not dull or dumbed down for radio, its just short, it does build up but falls a little shy of a complete song.

  • The list isn't done in order.

But, yes, this is a good song.

  • I haven't played FFVII:CC but this music kicks ass.

  • i played it and beaten it. the story is an opener for sure for those who haven't played FFVII. You should play it but I will warn you the game is really short if you don't do the sidequests in the game.

I like this song too but the best song i heard on this soundtrack was Zack's Theme.

  • Beautiful music, it's very touching indeed. I'd like to play it on Rock Band or Guitar Hero, it would be amazing.

  • i would like this to be on the ps3 i had a hard time playing on the psp

  • i cried at the end of this game fucking epic music

  • same for me u_u ... i wonder why Zack die.. Zack was the best.

  • slightly different from both the original and last order if i remember correctly. funny how SOLDIER saw Cloud still alive after killing Zack and randomly letting him live.

  • Maybe they thought he was dead.

  • dead things usually don't move. My guess is they ran out of bullets after shooting up Zack and they didn't think Cloud was a threat and shouldn't waste their time on him.

  • Maybe Cloud wasn't moving, then again Zack may have hidden Cloud behind a huge rock so they wouldn't find him.

  • i remember him moving in the original cinematic in ff7, but I could be wrong, but they still walk right past him regaurdless. You can't trust the rest of the compilation since zack dies at a different point in Last Order.

  • You have to remember how long ago the original was made though.

  • It's just a funny observation. That theyed remake it and make it different in both spin-offs.

Last Order- Zack is killed in the back of the truck or they were just to cheap to finish it.

Crisis Core- Overdramatic ending were Cloud sees zack die right in front of him

In the original game I thought Cloud thought he was Zack given the way he acted in the begining of the game compared to how he acted toward the end and even more extreme in AC.

The compilation just sucks & contradictive

  • cloud had mako addiction. thts y he thought he was zack. His mind was basically fucked xD

  • Anyone who played the game should know that. though if Cloud had a Mako addiction why did I never see him in the game as a Mako fiend? I don't think he had an addiction as much as he was just fucked up by the experimentation.

CC is kind of wierd since cloud doesn't seem messed up as he watches cloud die, which actually led me to believe that LO was correct since cloud was really fucked up and it would be believable for him to wake up with the sword next to him and go... Oh! I'm Zack!

  • "Embrace your dreams and, whatever happens, protect your honor...as SOLDIER"

The gameplay was okay, the "Missions" were boring.

But soundtrack, story and cinematics were awesome. One of the best PSP Games for me.

  • it so damn touching...

If this isnt the best game in the world, then i dont know.

Maybe not the gameplay... but the story and the cinematics...

  • Its a good game. I really enjoyed the music on the game. Everyone always enjoys their soundtracks I heard of. This one is thumbs up in my books along with On The Verge of Assualt and Why. You should do more songs from this game's soundtrack. Otherwise, very good selection.

  • Wow...I haven't played any of the prequels to FFVII, but now I'm seriously considering it. Thanks for uploading, Supra! :-)

  • Didn't appreciate this the first time I heard this on your top VGM. But after playing the game and came to the part this song was playing at the end part of the game holy shit... I cried T T

  • Eh... it's pretty good. FF7 did have an amazing soundtrack, though. A shame the game wasn't as good as the music.

  • The problem I had was that they made it too damn short to be enjoyed. They should at least added more content and show more of Reno moments... Tseng sounds too much like an asshole interrogator.

  • One of the best pieces of music from that game. I liked the guitar version of Aeris' theme though (Flower Blooming in the Slums). Also one of the saddest endings i had encountered in a long while.

  • wow this is pretty good

  • nice violin melody at beginning. anyone know anything similar?

  • ahhh i love this song... =D

  • Wow, better get this game tomorrow.

  • beautiful!

one of the best in the series

  • this soundtrack really got my hopes up for the following FFs after the disappointing FFXII Soundtrack. i love the melody of this song which reoccurs in a few other tracks with the one in the ending credits being my absolute favourite

  • I liked FF12's soundtrack...

  • Not one of your best VGMs, but again I'm not a big fan of the electric guitar...

  • No I havn't, but I havn't played most of the games I've heard VGMs for.

  • the best

  • love the music in this game!! it's so awesome

  • So, who was the composer for this soundtrack? I haven't really been keeping track since Nobuo was (mostly) replaced.

Also, this kind of reminds me of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters". :-)

  • That would be Takeharu Ishimoto. Pretty new composer, he mainly did this and The World Ends With You. His next task is pretty big though since he's in charge of Final Fantasy Versus XIII. :)

  • No he is in charge of FF Agito XIII and Dissidia.

Yoko Shimomura is in charge of Versus XIII.

  • Ahh yes! For some reason I thought Agito and Versus were the same.

  • This is the only song that can make me happy and depressed all at once. :( It's so heroic and sad at the same time.

  • The man did an awesome Cactuar impersonation. R.I.P. Zack.

  • yes he did.

  • i love this song from crisis core, one of my favs

  • lol top favorited honor in Canada. 1...
