When judges were on a talk show few weeks back, they admitted ai show ratings have gone down. Continual bad treatment to current and past singers on the show & thru YT, Fox/ai show needs to change its attitude. To RETAIN and GAIN LOYALTY to the show is to treat singers badly? ha ha that doesn't work

He was the best singer the show ever had & I've been following his career ever since, seen in 3x in concert, met him once, can't wait for his next CD!
It is so much fun to watch the early-Idol youtubes of Archuleta. This was top 24 week and he was true to himself then and true to himself now. There is nothing contrived or calculated when you hear him sing on youtube or in concert. The music just pours out of him and everytime there are different nuances to the song. He is a really great musician with a wonderful tone to his voice and the music is part of him and it connects with those listening.
Simon didn't give this kid enough credit while he was on the show. David is extraordinary. I youtube the videos just to hear him. I'm comfortable calling him the best male singer ever. That's a huge achievement for his age. David Cook is cool though. He had a cool personality and deserve to get far. I'm old school. I think the winner should be the best singer not the most unique.

llozcalai - it had nothing to do with confidence why he came in second or the votes.He always had it. It's the guys behind the curtains who decide who to give the title to. It's those guys of Freemantle who are now connected with Jive that continue to play games with David's career. Hopefully their contract ends real soon so he can have legit people who can sincerely represent him
and guide his career the way it should have from the very beginning. Jive, Freemantle have his career controlled.
I agree with you, Sakura52296! David was one of the best singers in Idol history--if not THE best. AI started playing games with him from the beginning by not airing his 1st Hollywood audition, claiming they didn't have broadcast rights (a lie). They didn't want David to win because he was a sure thing--he'd make money even if he lost. Jive is just yanking him around; the sooner his contract expires, the better. They don't appreciate David's talent, he's not just another teenybobber idol.
I actually thought they played with the viewers because I think a lot of "teenyboppers" were in love with that Jasiah Lemming dude and like when he finally fell short and got eliminated, guess who they for the first time revealed? David and in the misery of the teenyboppers, they quickly found a new favorite, haha.
@wlhardy - yeah, I'm real concerned about the super boy wonder David Archuleta. Why would they want to string him along? I mean literally no promo's of any kind. for David. No heavy duty promo like Bieber has gotten. David should have had this kind of promo since day one. He worked hard for it not Bieber. This was the very first performances of top 24 contestants, the first tv performance with audience, Jan. 2008. David came out with lots of energy and sang with great up tempo. Great job.

What the heck happens to all Archuleta high-count videos? One by one the million, two million, three million view-count idol vidoes are disappearing. The funny thing is that anyone has seen the Crush video with 14million views knows that his amazing idol performance videos had multi-million view counts too. Someone just doesn't want everyone to know that. Wierd - you'd think they would be proud of it - after all, it reflects well on idol for the high view counts to be seen.

I love watching this video. I think that the judges were surprised because up until then, they had only heard him sing "Crazy" and "Heaven" and this song was totally different and showed the power of his voice. Followed by Imagine must have been a real shock for them.
I'm afraid I'm so spoiled by DA's incredible talent and character that I couldn't get interested in anyone in season 8. I love David in this performance. It's probably my favorite.
David is what made Season 7 so good and that's the only reason I watched. I knew that Season 8 would not have anyone who could hold a candle to David's talent and refused to waste my time with it.
He burst on to the stage with so much energy and charisma, same kind that he has in current LIVE performances. He is now living his dream and enjoying more. Go David.

llozcalai - it had nothing to do with confidence why he came in second or the votes.He always had it. It's the guys behind the curtains who decide who to give the title to. It's those guys of Freemantle who are now connected with Jive that continue to play games with David's career. Hopefully their contract ends real soon so he can have legit people who can sincerely represent him
and guide his career the way it should have from the very beginning. Jive, Freemantle have his career controlled.

I agree with you, Sakura52296! David was one of the best singers in Idol history--if not THE best. AI started playing games with him from the beginning by not airing his 1st Hollywood audition, claiming they didn't have broadcast rights (a lie). They didn't want David to win because he was a sure thing--he'd make money even if he lost. Jive is just yanking him around; the sooner his contract expires, the better. They don't appreciate David's talent, he's not just another teenybobber idol.

I actually thought they played with the viewers because I think a lot of "teenyboppers" were in love with that Jasiah Lemming dude and like when he finally fell short and got eliminated, guess who they for the first time revealed? David and in the misery of the teenyboppers, they quickly found a new favorite, haha.

@wlhardy - yeah, I'm real concerned about the super boy wonder David Archuleta. Why would they want to string him along? I mean literally no promo's of any kind. for David. No heavy duty promo like Bieber has gotten. David should have had this kind of promo since day one. He worked hard for it not Bieber. Bieber was helped by other artists and is just going along with his ride.

David clearly won all three Rounds from the judges on the finale performance. The judges got it right to pronounce him as the best singer of season 7 2008.

This was the very first performances of top 24 contestants, the first tv performance with audience, Jan. 2008. David came out with lots of energy and sang with great up tempo. Great job.

One of my favorites, David showed he could sing up tempo songs as well. Just listen to Zero Gravity! And he can sure move when he needs to. Love you David, whatever you sing. Can't wait to receive my pre-ordered Christmas From the Heart!!!

This is great - he had just turned 17 and now he is almost 19. From this to "Zero Gravity" and "Contigo en la Distancia" in such a short time. He has grown to a truly amazing performer!

yes he is i wish he's could be like michael jackson .. be a legend or something .. great performer .... but the best that i wish is he's more famous,richer than the jonas brothers cuz he's more talented then them in voice .. What the heck happens to all Archuleta high-count videos? One by one the million, two million, three million view-count idol vidoes are disappearing. The funny thing is that anyone has seen the Crush video with 14million views knows that his amazing idol performance videos had multi-million view counts too. Someone just doesn't want everyone to know that. Wierd - you'd think they would be proud of it - after all, it reflects well on idol for the high view counts to be seen.

Whata difference a year makes!! He was fabulous back then, but if oyu haven't go and view his most recent performances, anyone of them and the difference is unbelievable. I love watching this video. I think that the judges were surprised because up until then, they had only heard him sing "Crazy" and "Heaven" and this song was totally different and showed the power of his voice. Followed by Imagine must have been a real shock for them.
