I DONT THINK I HAVE EVER SEEN OR HEARD HER TALK ABOUT THE FUGES PROBLEM! I KNOW IT WAS ABIT SHORT, OBVIOUSLY SHE DOENST LIKE TALKING ABOUT SAMPLING COS ITS NOT FAIR AS SHE SAID BUT YEAH!
i honestly think we should not worry about her money but about if people understands her messages .... some people hears the music and do not care about the message...the message is most important ...because like it or not we live as what we hear ..rock music message is violence drogs and stupid other things...rap is about the same ...trance and dance are better but enya is far different ...her message is love compassion unity and peace
@myyvaine so do u think a christian rock bands' message is drug and violence ? maybe heavy metal music ye, but rock?i bet uve heard tons of rock songs that u didnt even know was rock that u liked and not see a message of violence and drugs in
Enya composes every song and play every instrument and every voice The lyrics are mostly wrote by her friend Roma Ryan, and the producer is Roma's husband, Nicky Ryan. Only these 3 people make everything, so the money goes to the record company and to them too :)
I like the Fugees too, but it is just plain rude that they used the track without asking permission. You have to give credit to Enya though...she is just to peaceful to make a fuss about it.
Surreal! Enya and the Fugees discussing the use of samples on "Ready or Not", a hip hop track. And I'm sorry Enya fans but the only reason she approved the use of the sample was because the Fugees were already huge in the UK and the royalties would be huge. If it'd been 5 years earlier, there's no way she would've approved it.
Enya has now sold in excess of 50 million albums worldwide, listed has the 3rd richist artist in the uk and ireland, she is okay for the money and was at her all best between 1990-1998, I do love the fugees ready or not but the song would be nothing without enya's track.
Don't be fool 'tomate182' and 'ohlife2live'. The religion of a person is personal and should not be discussed. You don't know, so you can't say that she's your religion. You do not pass of fools. Do you really think that her Religion will make difference? You are too small-closed-mind.
I love Enya. I have a Guardian Angel (and no, I don't care how silly you might think that sounds) and although I have never heard her singing, I imagine that she sounds just like Enya.. The song 'Only Time..' is my angel song and I play it whenever I want to 'talk' with my angel.. Enya is otherworldy and supernatural.. X
Out of all the music I've ever heard (which is a lot), I would say her music would be the closest thing to what I think music in heaven would sound like.
Her music is divine. I have in fact sensed something from her and her music that I haven't found in any other music ever created. It has real power; real, divine, power.
I've never seen her speak prior to looking this up. When I was younger (back around the early 90's) her voice and music accompanied me during many (lonley) nights. It's magic when someone can touch your soul the way she did for me... and I now realize for so many others.
'wise words from a wise woman', mmm:)I love her attitude to music. Enya always talks about it as if she's just entered the studio for the first time! she never mentions the routine and seems so enthusiastic [even though the journalists have been asking her the same questions for past 20 years :) ]
I thought the hip-hop thing was interesting. There is some guy/group called Prodigy. They have taken several Enya songs and 'meshed them up'. I assume they went through the right channels.
I love Prodigy, which of her songs did they use do you know? And which one of their songs used the mash up or whatever? If you know, cool, if not, don't worry about it
Actually, the mesh up sounded great. The reason is these two music genres are worlds apart. When they blend, and there is a sort of harmony, it actually shows us that music at its core has similar roots; from there, it assumes varios paths. Kudos to both Enya and Prodigy though. One reason they sounded great, inarguably in the mesh up is they are both 'pioneers' in their respective genre.
Now that is a rare interview, love enyas work, so magical. i didn't know about the fugees how disrispectful was that. I repect enya highly for her talents
