AN IDEAL STRONGEST FORM OF DEMOCRACY INCLUDED (See Chapter 3.1.2.1 of Part One.)
All Arab countries need to learn from the Native Americans past.. If the Native Americans stood as one, the "United States" may still be thier land.. Boy, that would be the end of "The American life style" ... But, like the the Native Americans, they are falling for the same crap....
I'm not necessarily vindicating what's being spoken on above, BUT <----- All the Non-Westerners who've watched this video need to accept and realize that placing the blame on U.S. (or Western powers in general) is all to easy and not realistic that nearly the same strategies and techniques would be and have been implemented , historically speaking, by Non-Western countries as well... in their own manners and particular reigns of power and influence.
This is why Egypt's revolution is far from over and why the Egyptian people keep fighting - they know that as long as the military is in power there will be no freedom.
I would argue that the U.S. does prefer democratization, especially democracies that desire global trade. But in countries that own the global industrial life-blood, it's the responsibility of the U.S. to support stability and uphold free markets. Since WWII that is the responsibility that the U.S. has taken on. Not an easy task for a state with prior tendencies toward isolation.
@Quigleydownunder The US has consistently supported dictatorships in resource rich areas and strategic military areas.. Not sure why people should believe that the US supports democracy when we bomb Iraq with the pretext of WMD's, then democracy, but later start shitting ourselves when Egyptians got rid of our puppet. The list of corrupt governments and mass murderers we've been in bed with is way too long..
It's not really a "free market" when it's done at gunpoint.
Only time will tell what our actual policy can/will be. In five years, if Egypt is a stable democracy that allows international trade through the Suez and supports free trade, do you not think that we will support them?
Egyptian should do what ever work and is good for them, and not for you …
democracy is about freedom not pleasing the trade, military,or any other industry. We will see if the army will let true democracy fill Egyptian life’s the way it's intended
@Quigleydownunder The Us has no say on what it does. Israel is one who orders your country what to do! Once you accept that and start investigating the lobbys and brainwashed Christian Zionists then you wont recieve bombs on planes
''don't bite the hand that feeds'' comes to mind...Israel want a big part of Egypt to created ''greater israel'', an attempt to resurrect to old Phoenician empire by the guise of religion. With jews, ''wolves in sheep's clothing'' couldn't be any more accurate.
I guess an Israeli or US invasion can be possible if someone was to stage the right event which would generate enough anger... But it's would be hard to do at the moment thou. But i thin B. Neat&yahoo might be crazy enough to try it.
BTW, where is that video with that Israeli guy name Michael who said he feared Israel might stage an event to start an other war in the ME? Anyone? Has it been deleted? I think i might have post an unfair comment.

It is all about the U.S. policies and interests, all over the world, and the majority of people everywhere pay for them in different ways, including the poor citizens of the U.S.
What sparked the protest, riots, and self-immolations were high food-oil prices, government subsidies being cut/inadequate and high unemployment.
The high food-oil prices are caused by speculation-price distortion thanks to Goldman Sachs. Wheat prices are high due to Glencore lobbying for Russia export ban. Unemployment to due to IMF "economic" reform.
Real News should do some new videos on food speculatio and on Glencore and the IMF's "economic" reform.
@nilbud The US clearly has allot to do with the future whether you like it or not, they will be having a part in the future, now its what amount of a part they play that can be under speculation.
@TheMilitaryTactics The US is finished due to an uneducated populace and an inability to pay the bills. No one wants to play WWII any more and everyone is tired of US piracy.

An excellent piece of journalism.
Gilbert Achcar is accurate, concise and straight forward. He gives the Realpolitik version of whats going on.
This puts what passes for news in the mainstream media to shame.

The Egyptian military has close ties with the US military as far as I know, so another US backed dictatorship would be all too predictable.
