This is an even better performance that another video I saw of her with a big bad sound. That was famous Steve Cropper, guitarist extradinarre on the intro.
Carla Thomas was a bad mam jamma back in the day, OMG this chic was bad, singggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg, wow I remember dancing in the basements at parties and singing to my bedpost all the females songs and this was 1 of them,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, thanx for sharing
For those of you who were'nt fortunate enough to grow up in that era you missed this type of entertainment. This lady could sing and this song made you dance close to that special person. What a voice and what a song. You had to live it to understand. Ron
And that is how he plays the keyboards. Watch the videos of Darlene Love on Letterman (any year) for her annual Christmas appearance. Paul Shaffer is always pounding the keys and bouncing up and down, like in the Carla Thomas video. Just an interesting note; not all that important. Thanks for all your contributions. Many are the best videos I have on my playlist.

Gee Whiz! What a great voice this young lady has and she's very attractive. Her style is similar to the 50's artists but her delivery of this song is definitely her own. This song is pretty - this is the first time I've ever heard of it. Her accompaniment is really great, too. I like watching the musicians as they play. My best wishes for much continued success for Carla. Thanks so much for posting. - Paula
Wow! What a delivery! This is the real deal.

Today's singers still have something to learn...........there is a difference between singing from your soul and just performing.

What show was this? It looks like Paul Shaffer from the Letterman show on the keyboards.
pjclawoffice 2 years ago
I do not know the name of the show, only that it was in New York City in 1988.
And yes that does looks like him when he had hair!
