lots of factors contribute to that. first of all, the music vid is the recorded studio album version of the song, fine tuned and edited to perfection, so naturally it would sound better. you also have to consider that this video is not only live but recorded with a camera and uploaded on youtube, all factors that contribute to a lessening of the quality of music and auditory perception. honestly, what else did you expect?

What the heck? no trumpet solo? why don't most bands ever play exactly what they record. Isn't that the reason people come to concerts: to see their favorite songs performed, not just the "abridged version". If a band records with a full blown orchestra backing them up, i'd expect to see an orchestra when i see them live. thumbs up if you agree with me

Songs usually sound "Different",not worse when they are performed live.

The reason is because that in the music videos, its the version of the song that was performed in the studio (meaning if a mistake is made, it can be edited)

Some bands actually sound better Live (Like the Eagles)

Singing is sorta rap-ish, pretty good when you consider the way it sounds like when it comes out the studio. It's human. But what impresses me is the their level of skill with the instruments. Very well played for a live performance.
