Very true...technically speaking, it is very much like the triangle offense in basketball...as long as it is executed correctly it is unstoppable...the only true way to defend the run and shoot is with a godd D-Line... to be able to reduce the QB's time without sacrificing personnel from your secondary..

Best way to stop this offense with very good DLs...Tackles that can push the OL into the QB;s face and disrupt his vision, and speed DE's who can get up field in a hurry.

If you have to blitz to generate pressure against a run and shoot team, you are in for a torching.

Georgia in the Sugar Bowl stopped this attack. The score was 41-10. Every time Colt Brennan tried to pass, he got hit. June Jone took him out in the fourth quarter because he was getting beat so bad.

Folks, the original Run and Shoot is what Paul Johnson is running. That is what Tiger Ellison invixioned for HIS Run and Shoot. Mouse Davis' Shoot, June's Shoot, and John Jenkins Multiple Adjsutment are vastly different than what Tiger envision and what Paul is doing.

the houston oilers ran it with warren moonand the were pretty successful withit going to the playoofs prettyconsistentlyduring the90s when jack pardee was there. the only thingthat kept them from going all the way one yearwas when buffalo came back from a 35-3 deficit to win the game and evetually go the the super bowl,but that was attributed to the defense not holdingthem down at all in the second half.again the offense still works but you still need a great RB to compliment things often
