  • Rouke was robbed.

I seen both Milk and The Wrestler.

Penn was good, but it was an imitation.

Rouke created a brand new character, and I cared more about him than Milk.

Oh well, at least Ledger won.

    He put Nicholson to shame.

  • I love how people actually thought the Dark Night stood a chance, not against Slumdog Millionaire.

  • Slumdog is a great film, but I can't help but find its hokiness with Jamel's question on the show being exactly related to his life. What r the chances of that?

  • The whole moral of the story is that "It was written" his whole life has led up to this moment. Through all the horrible times he has head they have paid up to this moment.

  • Picture: Frost/Nixon

    Director: Ron Howard

    Actor: Frank Langella

    Actress: Meryl Streep

    Supp. Actor: Phillip Seymore Hoffman

    Supp. Actress: Amy Adams

thos are my picks. I didn't realize until now that I've only been supporting Frost/Nixon and Doubt. Doubt should be up for best picture if you ask me. It was the best movie I've seen in a long, long time. Revolutionary Road was really great too, and I love Sam Mendez (American Beauty is an inspiration to me as a film maker). But Doubt was just great

  • pretty close. what do you think the winners will be (now that the nominations are out)?

oh and you gave the dark knight way too much credit, sorry

  • best picture: slumdo millionare

best actor: brad pitt, benjamin button

best actress: anne hathaway, rachel getting married or kate winslet, rev. road

supporting actor: heath ledger, dark knight

supporting actress: marisa tomei, the wrestler

  • best actor: mickey rourke

  • leo might not get nominated, let alone win.

    best picture: slumdog millionare

best actor: mickey rourke, the wrestler

best actress: anne hathaway, rachel getting married

best supporting actress: kate winslet, the reader(even though she's a lead)

best supporting actor: heath leadger, the dark knight

    best director: danny boyle, slumdog

  • I'm PRAYING Meryl will get it for Doubt. She was fabulous.

  • she better. The academy is fucked if she doesn't

  • here are my predictions:

Best Actor: Leonardo DiCaprio in Revolutionary Road

Best Actress: Merlyn Streep in Doubt or Kate Winslet in Revolutionary Road

Best Supporting Actress: Viola Davis in Doubt or Amy Adams in Doubt

Best Supporting Actor: Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight

Best Director: Ron Howard in Frost/Nixon

    Best film: Slumdog Millionaire

  • ha ha I would love for the Dark knight to win all of those awards.

  • I hope Leo wins!!!!

  • If Batman wins, it will be a dream come true.

  • Just thought i'd let you know i fell asleep during TDK. I was so bored. (And i loved Batman Begins.)

  • it seem everything u said is how prefect the performance of Heath Ledger, how wonderful he potray that character, but no one ever said how prefect tis movie was,how wonderful tis movie was etc. Batman Begin was a great movie too, it receive great critic as well, earn a lot too!But y no one said it should nominate in the Oscar? Now TDK release after the death of Heath Ledger, then everyone start saying TDK should win this n tat.

  • TDK is great movie, but winning oscar? I think tis movie will so success is bcoz the death of Heath Ledger. If not, this movie won't became the talk of 2008.Heath is great, even greater than Jack Nicholson,he definitely will win best supp. actor. but movie n director is way way impossible. Anne Hathaway will get nominated, she is the dark horse.4 actress is guaratee nominate-Anne,Meryl,Kate n Angelina.totally agree wif Supp Actress.Actor gonna b Sean for sure. Leo not 100% will get nominate.

  • kristin scott thomas should have been on the list. however, i would love to see Kate winslet win....her Oscar is way overdue.

  • anne hathaway for best actress!

  • I have said this and will continue to say that The Dark Knight has no chance at grabbing a Best Picture nomination, let alone win... That being sai I would choose Benjamin Butoon as the winner, not because it's my favorite, but it is the best made, and nominees being

    Revolutionary Road

    Slumdog Millionaire

    Frost/Nixon

    The Reader

  • Supporting Actress: Rosemarie DeWitt-Rachel Getting Married Tilda Swinton-...Benjamin Button Marisa Tomei-The Wrestler Debra Winger-Rachel Getting Married Winner: Viola Davis-Doubt Supporting Actor: Robert Downey Jr.-Tropic Thunder Ralph Fiennes-The Duchess Anil Kapoor-Slumdog Millionaire Philip Seymour Hoffman-Doubt Winner: Heath Ledger-The Dark Knight
  • Based on the movies that i've seen, mostly indie films, these are my predictions(i haven't see any of Kate Winslet's): Lead Actor: Clint Eastwood-Gran Torino Richard Jenkins-The Visitor Frank Langella-Frost/Nixon Mickey Rourke-The Wrestler Winner: Sean Penn-Milk Lead Actress: Anne Hathaway-Rachel Getting Married Sally Hawkins-Happy-Go-Lucky Kristin Scott Thomas-I've Loved You So Long Michelle Williams-Wendy & Lucy Winner: Melissa Leo-Frozen River
  • *Director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) Stephen Daldry(The Reader) David Fincher(... Benjamin Button) Ron Howard (Frost/Nixon) Winner: Gus Van Sant-Milk Motion Picture The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Doubt Frost/Nixon The Visitor Winner: Milk
  • For your info, I have seen doubt and Slumdog, but I have not seen the others due to the fact that they have not been released anywhere where I live. I picked Leo for actor because he deserves something after his rob for Blood Diamond, Kate Winslet for supporting for I think she won't win actress (Streep was too amazing in Doubt) but kate should get supporting because like Leo, she deserves something.

  • Obviously this guy hasn't seen any of the movies, most of these picks are early buzzers that have since lost all their momentum and LMAO @ Best Director and Picture for The Dark Knight, not happening.

  • As I mentioned in the start of the video, these are not necessarily my predictions, but what I would vote for and give the awards to. How come would TDK not win anything? Everything in that movie was great, and it got almost 1 billion in the box office. Nothing has done this well since Titanic. And people have seen it 4+ times in theaters, while movies like Benjamin Button only pulled in a 11 million on it its opening weekend.

  • "It got almost 1 billion in the box office. Nothing has done this well since Titanic. And people have seen it 4+ times in theaters, while movies like Benjamin Button only pulled in a 11 million on it its opening weekend."

Why do people use the box office/popularity argument to say that The Dark Knight deserves to win? It doesn't, you have to come up with a better argument than that.

  • Can't you get it through your thick skull that TDk is a great movie? Or are you just in the minority and think that every movie that succeeds well in gross is bad? TDK is an excellent movie; perfectly directed, edited, photographed, and an amazing performance by heath Ledger. What else can you demand? If you don't think TDK shouldn't win, then who?

  • Who said it wasn't a good movie? I said it wasn't worthy of winning Best Picture, you're just another one of those people brainwashed by excellent marketing and some actor's death, the editing and writing of The Dark Knight are far from perfect, the only things worthy of a nomination (Not a win) are Christopher Nolan and Heath Ledger, without them, that film would be nowhere near where it is right now and if you can't accept that, then, I truly feel sorry for you.

  • You have a point there vesperview. Nolan and Ledger were the driving force behind TDK, but doesn't that deserve them something? I vote TDK for the big winner because I'm tired of the glossy dramas that keep hogging up the Oscars for the last five years. I think it would be an excellent change for a popular movie like TDK to win some Oscars. Nothing has done that good since The Return of the King. You're probably right though, the academy won't give it much, it deserves everything its nominated 4

  • So are you saying that you don't like The dark Knight? It is the ONLY great movie of 2008. In the last 5 years, the academy always gives the awards to the glossy, limited release dramas. it would be nice for a change in which a huge blockbuster wins again. One that most people have seen and love.
