Home-made Ribbon Microphones 100% The genius behind these ribbons is a 97 year old WWII veteran from Finland who was a radio-operator during the winter wars in Finland/Russia 1939-1945. He has made a lot of ribbons and other non-categorizeable microphones during his lifetime. Many of them can be found in studios around in Europe. The microphones are unnamed so it's hard to see those he has made. But he used to carve initials of his dead wife on the microphone, which are "DS"
what microphones are you using?
