  • Great lesson bud, such a simple song on the face of it but filled with lots of nice wee techniques.

  • @peacefrog1916 Thanks - very good luck with it!

  • Hi Jim, thanks for doing this video. I've bought every music book and most of them are rubbish. Your lessons are brilliant, could you tell me if I could vary the picking pattern on the chords or wether I have to keep the same pattern throughout. Is there any chance you could do "Make you feel my love", it's beautiful song. Thanks a lot

  • @fylde223 One thing I forgot to mention was that Dylan varied his picking pattern on this song - it's good to vary the style here as it's a long song with no harmonica breaks or other tune changes. I do plan to cover "Make you feel my love" sometime.

  • Thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into all your videos and lessons! You are a great teacher and I love your style. Best wishes!

  • @jensoluf Thank you - very good luck with this and other Dylan songs!

  • Niceone, like it cheers The Makem Folk Singer

  • Great lesson Jim, as always! What I always found peculiar is that Dylan wrote this song which is so similar to "Girl From The North Country". You never mention the fact that these two songs are almost the same.

  • @johnkanis Cheers John; when I did my "Girl from the North Country" tutorials back in 2009 I promised to do this song also, as it was basically the same chords and song structure. I've only now done lessons for the song because of requests - I thought back then that if folks learnt GFTNC they wouldn't need further lessons on BOSL. However, I've deliberately chosen the Witmark demo version rather than the "GFTNC-style" version

  • This is wonderful Jim. Love this song and you add so much to it. Happy new year to you. Your instructional videos are so much appreciated by aspiring guitarists. Many many thanks as always.

  • @tony59able Happy New Year to you too Tony - and thanks again for your continuing support and encouragement.

  • Oh yeah! I'm loving this...you have been such a help so far & I thank you again, kind sir! =}

  • @Gingerjake2 Once again, you are very welcome "Ginger" - good luck with the song!

  • Very nice Jim. I may never learn to play this song well, but I am trying. Thanks! Michael

  • @1949Sidewinder Thanks Michael - I'm sure you'll make a "rattling" good version of it!
