  • Crap I dont' think i would be able to lift that. I have tiny hands

  • Straps for the weak only

  • getcher grip strength up girlie!!!!

  • metal up your ass!!

    \m/ METALLICA \m/

  • She can jerk my "fat bar" anytime.

  • @tempac91 lol

  • lol at the description of this video. Thats what she said!

  • ahaa dude its perfect...Amanda wraps her hads around the fat bar. Jerkin' it was easy, it was cleaning it up that was the problem...to funny

  • @clud18 rofl

  • shes pretty cute. ha.

  • rubber weights bounce more. and the thick bar is not a traditional bar. it is not solid. it is a pipe or hollow. solid bends pipe doesnt. therefore more bounce.

  • thats because they are olympic rubber weights dumbass... its wut they use for hang cleans and many other lifts in the olympics. they are not gonna drop regular weights, because that can break floors.

  • lol! ditto!

  • just throwing this out there, but when she dropped the weight it bounced pretty high and quite a few times. Ive never seen that before.

  • bumper plates...

  • the bar may be lighter than 45 lbs. and may be less bendy.

  • so what your saying is that since this bar is "less bendy (which it could be due to its larger diameter)" when she drops it, it stays more rigid and bounces more. Where as a standard olympic "thin bar" has more flex causing it to absorb more energy when its dropped and thus bounce less? I still think that this girl is using fake plates.

  • the plates probably weight 45lbs each. the total weight is probably around 135lbs.

  • Those are rubber. They're probably 10ish pounds. It's been a while since I've used the big black rubber weights, but it seems like the ones that look like a regular 45 are really considerably lighter. 45lb rubber weights look like small tires :)

  • The clean and jerk was awesome. It's just, why use a fat bar if you're going to strap it? Wouldn't the same weight with a normal bar work?

However, I understand that this was an "in the moment" situation.

  • this

  • What's the name of the song?

  • Whiplash by Metallica. 1983.

  • what's the point if she can't even get her hands around the bar? not really helpful to her is it.

  • Fat-bar trains for stronger grip and forearms dipshit. Please do tell me you know what grips and forearms are.

  • oh, badaaaass

  • haha owned lol....

  • fun stuff!

  • how much does the fat bar weigh?

  • typically less than a standard oly bar. Usually 25-35lbs.

  • really? whats the point of bigger bar but lighter weight, its supposed to be for grip strength

  • it's the thickness of the bar that makes it more difficult

...they can just add plates onto it to make it heavier

  • true, i would just think they would want the same weight feel just bigger just what i would think

  • Just FYI, the hollow fat bars are less weight, but there is a 7' olympic solid fat bar that is 80+ pounds. It actually looks like that may be the one she is using.

  • I said typically. And that axle doesn't look 7 feet to me.

If you want a 80+ lbs axle you've to make it youself.. It looks like an IronMind axle to me.

Her hands are just too small and can't double overhand an axle. nothing to do with her grip strength, really.

  • omg thats great. that would have entertained me

  • What's the most important part of this video. METALLICA IN THE BACKGROUND!!!!!! WHIPLASH!!! Internet yodas can go screw. Well said Amanda!

  • thats hilarious

  • I could watch this a million times. Your amazing, girly hands an all.

  • lol

  • thats phat!!!

  • it already looks like more than I can manage, dare I ask how much those plates weigh?

  • total weight 123# BW 130#

  • not bad

  • where do u get them fat bars from

  • ironmind apollons axle

  • That's just mean. Good on here for getting it.

  • thats perfect lifting for a bar that dosent even have knurling! you wouldnt even be able to apply chalk to that thing :)

  • that's just wrong - no knurling on the bar at all? :) ... oh and the yodas will say something like "there is no try ...just do" ..while doing a set of squats on a bosu ball to improve their core strength :)

  • Haha I bet this entire video was a reply to that guy talking about the straps!

  • no it actually sprung up as a conversation between some of us last saturday night.

  • Tee hee. :-)
