A nearly new A330-200 operated by Afriqiyah Airways crashed on final approach to Tripoli On 12/05/2010, killing 103 of the 104 people aboard, including 11 crewmembers. The accident was the deadliest so far in 2010. A boy from the Netherlands reportedly was the lone survivor. The crash occurred as Flight 8U771, en route from Johannesburg, was attempting to land at Tripoli International at about 6 a.m. local time. RIP
The visibility on landing was good, and the aircraft was very new. So there can only be one other explanation, there were spectators and officials that watched the plane explode before landing and disintegrated. this is just terrible, this crash should not have happened, i believe it was done on purpose, now only the black boxes can tell us. And that dutch boy was a very lucky strong person to survive it.
@kingshane94 You obviously have no idea what your talking about. I've actually flown on an A330 that a spoiler malfunctioned on approach. There's actually about 12 incidents with the plane, some terrorist, but most mechanical problems that caused emergency landings and crashes. Wikipedia the A330 for them. Some airlines that have had incidents wit the plane are: Cathay Pacific, Air France, Qantas, Air Transat and plenty more. So before you speak do some research, OK?
@Daniel7681 I think you're wrong because Air France is the only one who had an DEADLY accident before. So shhhh. And don't act like you 'know' so much.
@kingshane94 Actually saying this is the second A330 in history is pretty open ended, so before you comment you might want to think. Also so many of the accidents where also deadly, and greatly depended on luck. The Air Transat A330-200 almost ended with everyone onboard dyeing because both engines failed and they had to glide down over the Atlantic ocean. If you knew so much you'd know this is the most dangerous commercial plane to fly on compared on years in service and accidents.
@Daniel7681 Air Transat case was actuality use of wrong parts (manifolds links of the fuel lines to the engines) The company had used spares that were not compatible with the model, and they leaked after some hours of use.I have saw this particular craft fly with out one of his wiglets witch means the plane suffered some damage recently ,despite being 8 months old.... it looks like bad maintenance again! But it is still early days to make a comment!
@rmirandauk Yes I know that, and so does anyone else who watched Air Crash Investigations -_- I'm simply going over the history with this aircraft, and it's not a pretty one. So I really have no idea what your trying to prove here.
@Daniel7681 I'am not trying to prove anything!!! i'am just saying if like in the case of Airtransat , the plane had a failure due to bad maintenance or repair, that is hardly an Airbus design problem.

@rmirandauk All agree with you there, but I personally don't fell as safe as I would on that plane weather it's a mechanical problem or not.

I don't like AIRBUS anymore !!
Gallagher205 1 year ago
@Gallagher205
no, this airbus was new, delivered in 2009, there was speculation that the aircraft exploded before hitting the ground.
qwertyguy76 1 year ago
@Gallagher205 you must hate Boeing then...
rmirandauk 1 year ago
@Gallagher205 This accident was pilot error, nothing to do with airbus. It can happen boeing too.
