I don't think Lara could ever forgive Shadow for destroying her house and killing someone dear to her. I think any suggestions that they might -ever- be 'friends' in a future game or even be on the same side is ridiculous, unless there is far, far greater evil and only because of this.

@Visionsdreams , well the spinoff "lara croft and the guardian of light" is coming out sometime next month i think and there are rumors about a new Tomb Raider in the making, thats all i know :)

The Doppelganger is aware that it is just a tool, but is sentient herself. Being a Doppelganger, she also shares the same memories as Lara, but she knows how to distinguish herself from the original.

Being a doppelganger, she is most likely immortal. I guess this would be the new protagonist for Tomb Raider if the developers wish to set the series 40 years into the future....

Either that or she'll be recurring character who will eventually be killed off after sacrificing herself at some point

Actually, she was just a weapon against Lara and her friends. She had no choice, she just had to obey who said the magic words: Ohk Ashivar (something like that). Once Lara freed her from this magic, now she doesn't have any problem with Lara anymore. =)
