  • I'd love to know how Universal Mind Control is in any way related to this

  • Eight people listens to gay lil wayne and justin bieber

  • Eight dummy dislike thie what the heck lol

  • This is that sh*t the world needs...

  • This shit is genius!!!

  • My bad... Of course 9th too!!

  • Yesssiiirrr!!! All 3 of them RIPPED IT!!!

  • This song has a nice flow and a bangin beat. Scudda did his thing on this song.....

  • This album got me hooked on rap by Phonte, Big Pooh, and of course 9th Wonder. It's a shame that they broke up, but I was exposed to a lot of great hip hop on the account of Little Brother. This was a great song and excellent video. I even discovered a Stylistic song that I previously didn't know about. And as for the 8 or more people who wasn't "lovin' it", you don't know sh*t about real hip hop! " I wonder why.....".

  • [wait! i'm confused]

  • Too intelligent for me...

  • REDDIT

  • @sdonaldsonjr yea buddy

  • Showing some love from Reddit.com. And, yes, fuck BET!

  • @throbbingpwner <333

  • If this is what BET considers to be "to intelligent" that's pretty sad. This is barely smarter than your average song. There are more interesting verses on a Kanye West album.

If you want to hear MC's say something real, go listen to Akala - Fire In The Booth.

  • @SubstancePrime Wow, thank you so much for suggesting that. It was brilliant.

  • @8Tails

NP, Akala needs as much exposure as he can get.

  • @SubstancePrime

I hate to call people out but I have to respectfully disagree with you. I listen to Akala and I will say with no hesitation, he's an excellent MC. However, saying "Lovin It" is barely smarter than your average song.....I think your missing point. LB had always poked fun at mainstream because of the streamlined manufacturing of garbage songs, day in and day out. Furthermore, LB was always big on allusions and metaphors. I suggest you listen to "The Listening".

  • fuck BET

  • This shit is wayyy to intelligent for me..

  • so real and it never stop's

  • where is 9th gettin that damn bassline...fuuuuck !!!!!

  • NC STAND UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • 1:29 Skyzoo

    #JAMLA

  • Damn!!! This was that FIYA!!! Love my real Hip Hop!!! I don't care if it is the radio version. :P

  • Yep, yep...I'm still LOVIN IT!!!! Patricia B in the D

  • Nice track. Not like this new school rap. Definitely for Old School Heads...

  • this song goes hardddd!!!!!!!1

  • looooooove this shit!!!!!

  • thats my shiiiiiiit

  • Play that back one more time!

  • F all the media bet bullshit that surrounded this album from the beginning. Instant classic when it dropped. Waitin' on that reunion album from LB.

  • This beat is ridiculous

  • Dude. I didn't come here to bitch about "the radio" or "lil wayne" or "drake." I came here to appreciate a great hip-hop track. How can you claim to love something when you always talk about the shit you hate and never listen to? Put your energy into supporting and cherishing good hip-hop. That is all.

  • this song right here definitely set it off for LB

  • This was too intelligent for BET?

Makes sense when you think about it.

  • i luv this beat

  • I love this beat.

  • I don't think BET was ready for Little brother and Joe Scudda. Lol.

  • This was deemed "too intelligent for BET"?

  • @jackal1221 Well Obviously, did you hear "Ice/Bitch/Hoe/Whip/Hard/Stacks" once during that entire track?

  • This song actually brightened my day :)

  • BET is for Niggers.

  • Can only imagine the direction hip-hop would be if BET and the music industry wasn't controlled by the puppet masters who's hidden agenda is to dumb down the American public with whack and unispired club music that has taking over the game. BET's refusal to play Little Brother's video because they were "TOO SMART" for there targeted audience confirms this truth. Wake up people!

  • @MrKDub77 I remember seeing this video on BET 1 TIME!!! And that was it. You make a very vaild point and I TOTALLY agree with what you said.

  • @MrKDub77

...couldnt have said it betta yo!

  • @MrKDub77 An eloquent and valid statement on Youtube? What year is it?

  • @MrKDub77 thats why i don't listen to the radio

  • @MrKDub77 Definitely. I also remember when The Source was a respected publication. And refused to give the album the original score of 4 and half mics. And dropped it down to 4.

  • @MrKDub77 Are u serious? They actually said that?!!! Wowwww, thats fuckin ridiculous!!

  • Timeless!!!

  • STYLISTICS!

  • this is HIP HOP BITCH~!!!

  • Joe Scudda went in!!!! LOL!!!

  • I'm always amazed how few views good music has, but commercial music has like 100 million views.

  • @jayross3 Power of a doller

  • fuck bet promoting that fake cartoon lil wayne shit

  • TOO INTELLIGENT!

  • @DocSkribblez that's why i don't watch BET. it's not for black people anymore only niggas.

  • wat sample did they take diz from??

  • @beatzinmyhead One Night Affair by The Stylistics

  • Man fuck Atlantic.

  • The day I brought the Minstrel Show album was the day I fell in love with REAL hip-hop. Always loved it, but this made me take a second look at what I was hearin' at the time prior to that.

  • Song is so fucking great. It's such a shame that not that many people know about it.

  • "Too intelligent" for EBT, I mean BET, huh?

    Damn Right!! #fuckindummies

  • I still don't understand why BET chose to ban this. Intelligent music elevates people.

  • @mrcoldheart they acting like god damn slave masters. its an all out battle royal of keeping your reading rights.

  • Fuck you BET for not playing "intelligent" music.

  • Comment removed

  • Not even 300000 views, ahaha what? smh

  • This is what real hip hop sounds like, aww my ears are enjoying this great track!

  • So apparently this video was banned from BET because it was "to intelligent for its viewers" what does BET stand for again? -_-

  • Hello, I'm a BET viewer, and I don't get this video.

  • After listening to this album...I started listening to a lot of underground and old school hip hop...thank u little brother for influencing my ears :)

  • Finally! What took so long?

  • didnt wale go use this beat?

  • Lil Wayne's version has more views that the original. So sad....

  • YO! if you like little brother and 9th, check out this new upcoming producer i just found by the name of Maze Rockwell on this track he did wit an artist from NY called Lou... its TOO nice to pass up! :)

    youtube dot com/watch?v=JjfTDNE8wto

  • This sample is too fuckin' dope.... make ya wanna blow a pound at the light....

  • @ TheBillyKiller Gd look homeslice!!!!

  • 9th Wonder's Long-delayed solo album The Wonder Years....

Phonte's Solo debut album Charity Starts At Home...

Even J. Cole's debut album Cole World: The Sideline Story...

are all scheduled to come out on September 27th.

Man, if all these projects drop on time it will be a day i remember in hip hop for the rest of my life.

  • "Deemed too intelligent" That is the one of the most ignorant things i've ever heard. This is really what BET became? Brainwashing the next generation with all this dumb effortless bullshit?

  • God, Little Brother got me into hip hop like 4 years ago and this is till my favorite song ever...

  • Damn all the times I've seen this video I just barely noticed buckshot shorty at 1:52. Dude still looks the same lol.

  • what song is the sample from?? btw @faine6publishing yu aint never lied homie, FIREWORKX!!!

  • 9th wonder is the greatest...

  • ONE OF MY MOST FAVORITE SONGS IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD... LUV IT...

  • I still play this song!! fuckin love them

  • I heard they hittin in Philly cause im bumpin it

  • SO B.E.T. OFFICIALLY SAID THAT THIS VIDEO WAS "Too Smart"... BUT THE STATEMENTS IN THE VIDEO ARE MADE IN SUCH A SIMPLE WAY!

TRUTH IS THEY RECOGNIZED THE VIDEO AND SONG AS AN ATTACK ON THEM!!! AND THEIR DAILY MINSTREL SHOWS!

This video was actually a very polite way of addressing all these cliches and stereotypes!!! ive yet to see something poignant!!!

still a great video tho... a shame these guys had to break apart!

Some shit happened in my life and for some reason this slid by my radar. I finally discovered it and goddamn not only did they live up to the potential i thought they had, but hit it out the park. This is one of the tighest albums ive ever heard.

  • that stylistics song was PERFECT to sample for a hip hop song. It just sounds golden in this context.

  • remember this??

  • Black EVIL Television

  • I missed this song. Havent heard it since probably 07. This shit was good and is good. Luv the beat.

  • I swear, the wackest niggas get the BEST beats. Goddammit, this shit is legendary but since "Little Brother" used it, its fallen into obscurity.....

  • @LeoxSevered what?? u tripping if u think little brother is wack. Phonte of little brother especially is FAR from being a wack rapper, hes one of the best rhymers out (thats if u know who the fuck he is, otherwise ur probably not up on ur hip hop shit). Just sayin

  • @yugang08 hahaha.... even Joe Scudda has a better flow than Phonte. JOE SCUDDA. LOL. The guy who said "dont settle for the average, rap cabbage, heads" can body Phonte on his own track. Im mad you even wrote that lol. You need to listen to some mixtapes homie.

  • @LeoxSevered LMAO! Phonte not only has betta flows but is a WAY better lyricist than scudda. U could have said elzhi was better, but joe?? u lose credibility w/ that comment. Their is barely any underground/hip hop fan (that knows about both mcs n their catalogs) that will back u up on that. I get this isnt a lyrical but i suggest u look up LB's albums The Listening & The Minstrel Show and give em a real listen B4 u deem them wack (especially phonte). Scudda>Phonte, seriously?? lol *dead*

  • @yugang08 I said he bodied him on this track, which he did. Although thats not much of a prize cause it's one weak verse killing an even weaker verse.

  • Comment removed

  • @yugang08 whoa whoa whoa, papoose, washed up? He just dropped a mixtape a month ago thats bananas. Where's Little Brother? Disbanded. If Papoose drops a single, the entire country will be on it. Phonte? Touring in UK with a dutch producer. Also, if you're saying that "making better music" (pretty ambiguous, by the way) to listen to is paramount to lyricism, then every single mainstream rapper is better than Phonte. Yes, even the southern retards like waka flocka and gucci mane. Think about that.

  • @LeoxSevered Ok maybe washed up was inflammatory. Not saying pap is wack he can spit but dude doesnt know how to make songs, and songs that are memorable at that. Little Brother can & has. Dont know about u but i like the artists that do more than just spit lyrical warfare all the time. Phonte (the dope nigga out the group btw) is more of the complete package than pap, he can spit, rap about various tracks (even similiar to pap), can sing and can structure overrall songs that can draw u in too.

  • @LeoxSevered also who cares of they disbanded or not, their catalog is more quality than anything papoose has released. "Papoose drops a single, the entire country will be on it" maybe back a few years ago when he had more buzz & hype around him, but now? not as much. Phonte, i gurantee u more ppl are on him and will be alot more since phonte is planning to drop his solo album this yr. Also, what im saying is good ass music w/ dope rapping>>Just being lyrical. Wow, wtf?? lol @ the last sentence

  • @LeoxSevered even tho this aint a lyrical ass gem, i guess i fail to see how joe's lines topped phonte's even on THIS song. I peeped what u said about papoose, wit him its a hit or miss on whether or not he'd kill this track. Also no disrespect but pap is a washed up mixtape rapper with sometimes dope verses and even lesser dope songs overrall. Little Brother has released classic records....nuff said.

  • @LeoxSevered like those lyrics were so phenomenal ! wow u listen to more of phonte homie! joe scudda is aight but better than phonte? nahhhhhhhh!

  • @LeoxSevered Ur a fool, all ur mainstream artist like Drake and Eminem respect Little Brother to the fullest and "Minstrel Show" is a underground classic...gtfoh wit dat hatred bruh.

  • @MdotEB2dailly it doesnt even have to be mainstream, i know young guys, high school kids on my side that are way better than Little Brother. I dont know where you're from and if you only know rap by what gets played on the radio, but this song is WACK compared to even the weakest dudes in the cypher in NYC. Even Papoose could have made a better song out of this.

  • @LeoxSevered Look I I ain't bout 2 argue over the lyrics of the song...the song isn't meant to be hard, or over bearing with it's punchlines, it's a HIP HOP track. To be honest I ain't heard a GOOD Papoose SONG in yrs. Sure he's more talented, but this is a SONG, not a cypher. That's why mainly freestyle rappers will never be ranked as the best...most can't adapt to making an actually structured song. Look at Reed Dollaz, even Cassidy strugglin.

  • @MdotEB2dailly I know you wont argue over the lyrics lol. I will agree about Pap not gettin it right in the studio, though. I will say, though, that if he approached it right, that he would have done this amazing beat a hell of a lot more justice than these dudes....and Pap was just an example, of course. There are many, many others. How about Big Sean? Or does he count as mainstream now?

  • @LeoxSevered Big Sean grew up listening to them I'm sure...the production of 9th Wonder follows close to who? J Dilla. From where? Detroit. Whether or not he'd do justice doesn't take away from this song's influence is the main thing I'm sayin. And the main thing I noticed u said was "...if he approached it right...". Yea, if YOU approached it right you'd have a hit. But THEY seemed to have done just fine. Go through their catalog...this isn't their lyrical track, this is a celebration track.

  • @MdotEB2dailly so basically what you're saying, is that the justification for this track being weak is that the rest of the tape was dope? They weren't trying too hard on this but the other serious "lyrical" stuff is crazy? How does that have any bearing on the fact that I feel they completely wasted this beat? You're only agreeing with me about this.

  • @LeoxSevered 1. this track being weak lyrically is a fair criticism but it being a weak overrall song is ur opinion 2. what u mean tape? this is from their album the minstrel show & yes pretty much most of the album was dope lyrically 4. yes they got other serious lyrical stuff that's crazy (if u would give their lps a chance u would be more aware of this. Peep their track hiding places w/ elzhi spitting a crazy ass guest verse)

  • @yugang08 tape=album=LP=etc, i use them synonymously. My point is they wasted THIS beat. They were WEAK on this track. THIS one. THIS IS WACK. THIS beat was WASTED. If you're going to send me to another track, they might be decent on it. Hell, they might murder it. However, THIS beat, this one right here? See my earlier statement.

  • @LeoxSevered Not what I'm sayin at all...This song is INFLUENTIAL. And seriously u need to read btwn the lines on Phonte's verse, he just educated quite a few ppl with what he laid down. All the mc's u can name that have come out past the year of THIS record, know this record and "love it". Not ur cup of tea? Meh, I won't argue opinion vs opinion. But this track IS NOT weak in the sense that anybody that KNOWS hip hop and loves it most likely know this song. Ppl still coppin Minstrel Show...

  • @LeoxSevered In fact I want you to name artist that have come out PAST this songs video release, and tell me if they've influenced the other lyrical rappers of this new generation.

  • Chec out my page @ everybody

Im a huge fan of little brother & 9th wonder I've done a couple of songs to his beats tell me what y'all think comment n sub if you feelin where I'm coming from thanks.
