    Thanks!

  • I love your interpretation. It brought back childhood memories and a tear to my eyes. :) Thank you.

  • Thanks for your sweet recording, troubleclef.

I wonder if I could use a recording of you, with link to this site and appropriate attribution, for a limited time only, on my class reunion wiki? It seems very appropriate, and having a click-and-play recording would be much easier for the oldsters in my class.

    Thanks--

    Elizabeth HST

  • absolutely. feel free.

  • i have a guitar like that and it does nothing of the sort, i think it must be possesed and you are some kind of devil child.

  • Re the video description: "My Favorite Things"

or, if you prefer the British spelling

    "My Favourite Things".

This reminded me: Something unusual is happening with the UK YouTube site right now; it's been going on for a couple of days. When I have this site set to its UK page (which always do), it displays British spellings. However, recently, the word "favourite" (as in favourite videos) has been changing its spelling to "favorite" and back again. Strange.

  • thank you so much for your playing! when I listen to you, my heart fills with so much joy and love! you should definitely make a CD!

  • thanks!

  • Loved it but..., thought it needed a more "fuller" sound (more chords filling in the melody)--just a thought. Oh, 5* as always--your "neighbor"

    --Van

  • superb just about sums it up - thanks for sharing

  • Flawless.

  • please make a CD trebleclef

    great job :)

  • you should seriously consider releasing an album. i would so buy it. you rock!

  • me too. and the second. and the best of.

  • are you in standard tuning?

  • yes

  • you are amazing.

  • hey mate- i read one of your comments about learning by ear, do u reckon u could give edelweiss a try, its that beautiful song on "thes sound of music" which i think is also the austrian anthem. i dunno. but its beautiful.

  • Hey Troubleclef, I really like the sound. I have a Martin as well -- best purchase I've ever made. Anyways I see that you started this in Bm, and that key change to C#m was great. The version I learned from the film is Em...any reason for the change? Keep up the good work!

  • thanks. i bought the soundtrack on itunes. em and bm are a long ways from each other, are you sure Julie could still sing it?

anyhow, i learned it by ear from that soundtrack recording (possibly with a capo on one to make cm play like bm)

i did however notice from watching the movie clip that the song is handled differently (the entire song is split up because the Baron walks in and interrupts it in the movie but obviously not in the recording). Maybe it's a completely different key too?

  • On a scale from one to ten, you sir are fuckin awesome. Question? I'm sure you read music, but for those of us who don't how can we get some tablature for these songs you are playing...yes, i have watched all your vids, you inspired me to learn Rain Song, it was actually rather easy, anyways later

  • always 5 stars on you; cuse you're the best!

  • i love u

  • I love your arrangement very nice

  • good!

  • You're GOOD!!!! :)

  • Hey Troubleclef, is this standard tuning? I have 2 older sisters and I've seen this movie 10000 times lol. I'd like to learn it off your video, I just wanna make sure it's in standard, because it seems to be. Don't want to be learning it wrong =D

  • yes, standard

  • nice.

  • 10 stars! Perfect!

  • Outstanding! You really captured the flow & rhythm there. Thanks!

  • awesomeness!

  • it's a wonderful privilege just to watch and listen-faultless-absolutely love it-it puts julie andrews in the shade

  • beautiful

  • Ahhh...i freaking loved it. Made me want to watch Sound of Music.

  • one word...beautiful

  • nice, you really brought out the melody. haunting...it is gorgeous.

  • This is lovely!! Congrats ;D

  • nicely played 5*****s ,one of my favorite movies, great job

  • i absolutly love this song, and you played it very well.

  • I love how you can hear a piece and work out how to appropriate it to classical guitar. I enjoy doing that a lot (when I have a classical to hand) but stuff like this, because of the complexity of the chords, is impossible for me. Well done!

  • once you hear the diminished chords it's not so complex. what *is* difficult (and still makes it very hard for me to play) is remembering it all.

  • outstanding!!!

  • FANTASTIC!

I know you don't have tabs or anything, but could you tell me how you arrange these amazing pieces that you play? I mean, is it all from hearing?

  • well, in this case yes. but not always. sometimes i use the piano sheet. depends on what i'm trying to do. thanks!

  • Oh, thanks!

  • Beautifully played! Thanx that was awesome.

  • i was foced to sing along

  • 'My Favorite Things' is one of my favorite song ever. Am glad u perform it brilliantly. Thx!!!

  • Great job. Did you compose that yourself or did you have the music?

  • i arranged it myself. thanks

  • wow!!! amazing!!!

  • fantastic

  • Brillianet..brilliant..thanks !!

  • Nice man I am in theater so this is a popular song for people to sing for auditions nice job love it.5/5

  • Envy is a bad thing. Fortunately I have a good few years to get to where you are.

  • Mate, that was absolutely fantastic. I am going to learn it now :-) I am looking forward to posting a video response to your yellow brick road once I get a camera. It's similar to yours, I hope you'll like it.

  • Cool. glad you like it. let me know when you post it.

  • fabulous!

  • UAU

  • You are a true master, thank you for shedding with us =-)

  • *****! another great one. i went searching for more steel string tunes, and got distracted by this one... ;)

  • This is brilliant, a real inspiration, to play at least, there's little chance of me pulling off one of this magnitude for a while yet. But like they say, its not that i can't play it, just that I can't play it yet!

  • awesome, 3 minutes of paradise.

  • Bravo.... Bravo.. I am one more video from subscribing...

  • Fantastic musician.

  • why is your video starting to "stick"? very herky-jerky...too bad for such a nice rendition.

  • occasionally the servers get slow. back in the old days (spring of 2006) I *always* had to let videos load up for a minute or so (hit pause on the video bar, wait 1 to 2 minutes, then click play) before i could watch them in unbroken sequence. Still doesn't hurt to do it nowadays. (of course, i'm assuming here that you have a high speed internet connection and that the bottleneck is not on your end)

  • never heard it before but I enjoyed it.. nice ;]

  • Great version, once again!! Just a quick question, how ling does it take you to get an "idea" to this kind of standard? Just wondering if it took you days weeks, or months. Awaitng your answer with bated breath.

    Keep posting, its fantastic music.

  • hard to say really. it varies depending on the song. I was noodling around with this in bminor one day while watching the Celtics. I realized i couldn't get some of the chords right from just working out the melody so i downloaded good ol' Julie Andrews' version from the soundtrack. That's not in bminor so for a while i was working on it in the proper key with a capo on. I gave up that idead and started playing the same thing back in bminor again.

then it took several takes to get to this.

  • Very well done, as usual. Have you ever heard Stanley Jordan's version? I think you'd like it.

  • i have not heard stan play it. thanks!

  • troubleclef: ain't gunna let that spellin' of 'favorite' go, are you? hahahaha I love it! great to hear you play, as always. music=art=LUV. and i say ROCK ON!

  • Guau!!! Me Gusto mucho, que bien toca usted, no se si undia yo toque así.

Felicidades por subir musica tan bonita

  • Oh Cleffy, you made me cry again! Such beauty.

  • i like your music very much.

i just close my eyes and enjoy this product of passion

  • Brilliant. On to listen to The Rain Song again.

  • thanks, Bob

  • Thanks again for sharing your talent!

  • I LOVE this song :D

  • my favourite

  • Another stunner Tony.

  • Great arrangement Tony, and I don't like saying "as usual" man I hate that saying it sounds so Blasé as if you know nothing else to say, every recording from an Artist is unique, now how can we explain that Tony? You'll get a Vid response from me,great playing, greetings Vic.

  • this brought some of my favorite things to a shitty day. thanks.

  • Man, I love your music so much.

    GOULET!!!!

  • You want me to do some Bob Goulet? hmmm, possibly "If ever I would leave you,....how could it be in summmmmmmer?" Always one of my favorites. Did Bob sing "My favorite things"? that doesn't seem to fit his persona. I'm thinking Julie Andrews or nobody on this one.

  • Will Farrell does an impersonation of Robert Goulet singing this.

    It's really funny.

  • Ahhhh!

  • Thank you fer postin n yer wide range of music u share wif us......simply amazin.......PEACE LOVE LIGHT~~~Da KID

  • thanks, buddy. i'm still working on some more Dead. i won't tell you which one til it's done.

  • I watched that film a thousand times when I was younger. Thanks for posting. I favourited it (I prefer the British spelling, too).

  • i'm glad it met with your favour. :D

  • I saw the movie for the very first time about 2 months ago :o

Thank you for this posting - it is great.
