I didn't know he played Kano till 2008. I found out he died that year too. Does anyone know what religion he was? It is sad he died at only age 40. :-(. He sure was handsome though.
Very well done, Trevor played a great (if not stereotyped) character in JAG. The producers only got one thing wrong though (and a minor point), the ribbons on his uniform (see 0.27); more than an admiral when we first met Cmdr Brumby. Fortunately as the series went on they got it right.
Wtf? Waltzing Matilda? The guy was British, some fucking tribute when the person who made it doesn't even know what country the Trevor was from and didn't even spend the 30 seconds or so it takes to look it up. Fucking moron.
@tronk9 Goddard was indeed English but he passed himself off as Australian in Hollywood, presumably to get roles. The dreadful fake Australian accent fooled the yanks because no-one can copy an Australian accent. Also, as another comment on this page points out, Waltzing Matilda was used in the ep of JAG, for which Goddard is best-known, when his character left JAG & returned to Aust. The scene was also replayed as a tribute to him after he died. HINT: Chk facts b4 calling ppl effing morons!
I read a December 2002 interview with Trevor Goddard about the then-rumoured third MK movie and he expressed his enthusiasm about reprising the role of Kano if asked to be a part of the film which unfortunately will never happen now as he's sadly gone.
great video. i'm from perth, western australia where trevor claimed to be from and always thought his accent sounded a bit odd, but i loved his work. rest in peace mate.
Goddard was the most underrated actor of all time. That man deserves so much more credit than he recieved. I firmly believe that after his career was going to go to new heights after his role in Pirates of the Carribean. Such a sad shame he died so young. He was such a beast. He played all his roles to perfection and was a true party animal in and out of the spotlight. R.I.P Trevor. You're in a better place.
in 2003 Trevor was found dead in his home in Los Angeles California He apparently died from a drug overdose Although he was often cast in Australian roles he was actually English This truth was revealed by Goddard's father at his son's funeral something attempted to tap into the Hollywood demand for Australian actors by disguising his thick London accent with an Australian one
Although he was often cast in Australian roles he was English. This truth was revealed by Goddard's father @ his son's funeral, something tat not only shocked the entertainment industry, but also shocked his fans.Goddard apparently attempted to tap into the Hollywood demand for Australian actors by disguising his thick London accent with an Australian one.He was so successful that he was accepted by the Australian entertainment industry as one of its own.He is survived by his wife and two sons.
From Wikipedia ( I know, not the most reliable source):On June 7, 2003, Trevor was found dead in his home in Los Angeles, California. He apparently died from a drug overdose of heroin, cocaine and the prescription drugs Valium and Vicodin.
I was at school with this bloke - Ravensbourne School For Boys, Hayes Lane, Bromley Kent, England, which is neither in Australia, and most certainly not a rough neighbourhood (as claimed in some press releases). It was incidentally also the school Billy Idol went to.
Soon after his death, I read in the newspaper that Trevor's father said that he had never been Australian. He just had made it up, or he had chosed to be believed one for convinience. Apparently, it was easier for him to get some roles as Australian.
really?? i thought he died from a drug overdoze...either way it is sad that a life is lost way too soon! Liked the way he portraied Mic Brumby.. even though Mac never really belonged to him, he certainly brought out the passion in people, especially Harm.:-)nicely acted.
A very touching tribute to Trevor Goddard and Mic Brumby. Particularly the last part where the JAG bunch sings "Waltzing Matilda" to Mic as he leaves McMurphy's to go back to Australia. It's so sad that he's gone, just like "JAG" itself. I still miss it.

Trevor wasn't Australian. He pretended to be Aussie to get the role but his bad Aussie accent gave him away in Australia. RIP Trevor.

Simple, he was a good actor. His character in JAG was a good guy... He only played a character. This does not make him a bad person...
