@amosschorr93 Synyster gates, or Brain Haner Jr to be morally correct, is quite possibly one of the best guitarists in the world. Satriani and Vai are awesome too but brian uses it more regularly in his bands songs. look at the song afterlife by a7x, and listen to the solo. you will be amazed
I fail to see how this has any effect on my lesson... Yes, Satriani, Vai, Vaughn, etc. are biggies but Brian Haner, Jr. and Darrel are more applicable to what I play and to the cover that I did that People asked for a lesson on.
@tjeeta12 You dont even do it right, your supposed to let off the string with your left hand then, drop the whammy bar, then hammer the harmonic on, thats from dime bag himself watch his correct lesson
@jaymzosborne111 this guy is teaching the simpler way cuz dimbag is teaching the way to get his signiture squeal and this guy is teaching the basic idea that dimbag used. so use your brain befor you start being an asshole.
You will be able to get the squeal on any guitar with decent pickups and a trem bar but the tone will be different depending on what guitar you have. The basic concept will be possible though.
Hey I've got a few hardtail ibanez and esps, i'm goin to buy a kh-202 w the floyd rose, but my brother has a regular whammy that can go down in pitch but wont go backwards. i'm tryin to do this kind of stuff, any ideas?
Well, you can't really do the squeals with a fixed bridge but with your brother's guitar, you can push the tremolo bar down and hit the natural harmonic and then slowly bring the bar back up. you wont be able to bring the pitch up higher than the original harmonic but you can get close to the same effect.
If you get that kh-202 though, you will have a much easier time.
ya that's what i've been doing, it's killin me i want to nail that high-pitched scream lol. im prob. just gonna get that LTD. i heard a floyd rose was a pain to tune, keep in tune or change strings on but i know somewhat how to do it. thanks!
Yeah, the floyd can definitely be a pain to re string and tune but once its in tune it will stay there nearly forever. you just have to learn how to balance it. get's easier over time but it's a beast.
Thanks alot man that's helped me ALOT! your video is really accurate, all the other videos explain it and it confuses me but yours explains it soo much better and you produce that harmonic so easy lol. So again thanks alot, btw your Schecter sounds bad ass :D
dime did do it often differently where he would dump the whammy and then catch the harmonic on the way up. but i can guarantee that this is how syn does it.
I'm scared of pulling it back to hard incase my strings snap

thanks man...i finally figured it out after watching countless videos and finding the perfect amount of distortion and delay
tvtuber12 1 year ago
@3:44 You're probably partial to that harmonic because it plays the 3rd of a Dm chord. Syn uses That key a lot.

I've got the cheaper version without the whammy bar. D:

What you teach is not what you think ! It's dive bomb. Harmonic squeals don't need any pick ;)

@egnite2500 I didn't say anything about dimebag, I because I know how a dive bomb is done and have before that, why mention him

Only on beast and the harlot. and City of Evil stuff. live versions of Critical acclaim he does it the dime way. Another good squealer is Matt Heafy.
