Just check the campaigns section of their website for some of their achievements or watch the movie "The Cove". While I agree that the show is played up and can appear feeble, I think you are missing the point. The show is way to help fund non-profit conservation campaigns and spread awareness.

Why not just equip their boats with underwater acoustical devices (LRAD), follow the whalers and blast their underwater LRAD and the whales wouldn't come within 10 miles. Just check the campaigns section of their website for some of their achievements or watch the movie "The Cove". While I agree that the show is played up and can appear feeble, I think you are missing the point. The show is way to help fund non-profit conservation campaigns and spread awareness.

The real whalers had not been spotted yet and the Shonan Marus job was to harrass the protestors so they couldn't find and harass the whalers. Wheels within wheels.
