WOW !!! Written by Marty Robbins, given to Frankie Laine, made a little more famous by Elvis.This version by Jerry is 5*****'s. Perfect in every way - voice and music ! It does rival Frankie's version. Both are absolutely GREAT. Too bad the only version by Frankie that's on You Tube is not the original recording.

Yes Jerry sang very beautifully, but so did Frankie in his own unique way. Listen to Frankie's 1969 version on Youtube. Which one sounds more like a man whose mother died giving him life, who spent time in prison, and whose wife is leaving him and taking his son with her.?
