There is a new object in SRB2 which allows you to view other players' names when you look at them. This object takes the slot 317, which previously was the first thing free slot. Because this object spawns on a regular basis so that you can view players' names, and because the SOC was added, and that SOC used the slot 317, it overwrote that new object, and this is the result.

Thing Free Slot being a space for custom objects. The Super Monitor is a mod, and it uses that slot.
