  • This has nothing to do with deconstruction whatsoever..

  • The government bombs innocent people using your tax money, nobody cares.

Britney gives a terrible performance(shock) and everyone goes apeshit.

  • Bollocks.

  • i love how american news organizations make a travesty of the journalism profession; covering spears like its strife in kandahar. way to go, msnbc. fucktards

as for brit, imagine being the hottest shit on the planet at a ripe age, being able to get anything and anyone you want, and you give your heart and birth to two children to some loser-nobody who ends up using you for your money and makes a mockery out of you. no one would take that easily. she got hurt, and emoted, duly so. that is all.

  • he is showing us that the drive to be a celebrity (not an actor, actress, or singer) but the drive to be in the media's spotlight and be seen is usually something left over from childhood (not always, but most of the time) and that needs to be treated by a professional. he is using his own expertise to show us the reality that poor britney is a person just like us and she is suffering and the media does not need to attack her and that we do not need to have disdain for her.

  • he is the first person to say that you cannot diagnose someone over the TV or RADIO and he has gone on to say, in his own show LOVELINE, that two minutes on the radio is not enough for a deep problem that requires years of intense therapy and treatment. everyone i know who is in the medical and psychological field agree that dr. drew is right when he explains to us the reality of celebrities and how their lives play out.

  • i love britney no matter what, her situation just showed how superficial the industry is

  • You love the superficial projection the industry has given her...because thats what you want.Just like mike in your tea it's something you want, and if there is someone to buy it there is someone to sell it.

  • u dont know what ur talking about....and dont reply to my comment if u dont know what i means. so plz dont reply.

  • but dont you think that she seriously needs help? people who i love who need help will hear it from me even if they dont want to.

the industry is toxic. and then they bring in dr. drew who is in my opinion the smartest man on radio and TV to hear his opinion about a PERFORMANCE and he ends up talking about how she is struggling. and they dont want to hear that. listen, when you bring an educated man on to talk about a TV thing, he is going to tell you what it is and not what you want it to be.

  • fuck them this isn't even that bad. people were just expecting too much from her, just leave the girl the fuck alone haters go suck it

  • Faaarrrkkn hell they made this performance out to be the worst ever. He states "she looked totally out of it". She didnt look totally out of it! The performance wasnt that bad grrrr

  • they're right! ;)

  • You wish.

  • f u

  • How so? He seems pretty brillant to me......

  • He openly speculates about the diagnoses of people he's never seen as patients, which is silly on the face of it and demonstrates a total lack of professional discretion. If a doctor who'd never met you openly speculated about mental illnesses you might have based on some video clips and media reports, how would you feel about that doctor? Take Pinsky's comments about Tom Cruise, for example. Pinsky might be a decent physician when he sticks to internal medicine, but he is very naive about

  • the functioning of the mind. He seems to operate on a sort of casual neo-psychodynamic framework, which is not empirically supported. His diagnoses are laughably simplistic, and are not based on metrics or sound science. He misses the point. He open speculates, for example, that Tom Cruise may have been neglected and perhaps overtly abused in childhood, and hence has found some solace in scientology, instead of realizing that most are very naive psychologically and fall victim to the same

  • innate cognitive biases that afflict us all. Being religious, no matter what you think of a particular religion, is not prima facie evidence of emotional trauma or mental illness. There are set criteria for diagnosing mental illnesses that are found in DSM IV such diagnoses cannot be made from television studios.

  • Consider that his diagnosis is not even necessarily a testable one, as people with this mentality will often say that even when a patient who they think was neglected or abused says they weren't, they doctor may simply think they are repressing the experiences or misinterpreting them. Do you see how circular it is? The patient cannot win.

  • and zeldovich you have NO idea what you are talking about. i am in the science field and i am having a hard time following you.

  • he is not doing this half assed. he has a medical degree and he has been a psychiatrist and a doctor for years and years. you dont have this training so you do not understand how he works and how the medical and psychiatric fields work. and what do you do? you put him down because the uneducated will always have a louder voice than those who do have the education

  • thready, so you defend a diagnosis of a celebrity made in a TV studio by a doctor who admits he hasn't met the patient? Ask any doctor if that is appropriate.

  • he is not diagnosing her. he is telling the world how these scenarios play out because he has 20 years experience as an addiction medicine doctor with training in psychology and a MD in psychiatry. and he is trying to explain to us what the truth behind mental illness and addiction is. if you were to ask him how he would diagnose her, he would say that she needs to be in the care of a doctor and only then can there be a diagnosis.

  • You are trying to speak for Drew now. This is beyond ludicrous. Dr. Drew here is being unscientific and unprofessional in the worst ways. Drew even apologized for unsolicited comments he made about Tom Cruise, when he ridiculously assumed that Cruise was neglected as a child and that it was motivating him to seek something he was missing in scientology. Drew has made a fool of himself publicly and I can't imagine how his peers view him. Aska physician you know who's familiar with these

  • public comments he's made and ask what they think of them. This conversation is not worth having with a Drew fanatic.
