No dude trust me on this. Take your intake assuming you have one, and take the filter off. Get a rubber spacer so you can fit your filter directly onto the throttle body..I did it to mine..I got a MUCH deeper sound, and no CEL.

For gods sake make it sound good! Get a resonator or a good chambered muffler. A friend of mine sounded like this and he got a good chambered muffler and removed the resonator and now it sounds good like a tuner, not a rice cooker.

The WRX has a turbo though so it's not REALLY a free flowing exhaust. It has the turbo to muffle some of the sound.

But again, the RS doesn't sound raspy and that has no turbo...

Sort of. I put 4-1 headers that are about 90 percent equal length(I know that doesn't make sense but I'm too tired to think of how to say "closer to equal than stock"). I am running no stock exhaust parts whatsoever. Even exactly equal length headers are not raspy.

Turbo's do stop raspiness, maybe not on an STi, because most of those cars are just in their own category, but my exhaust sounded like shit N/A, but after my turbo is on there it actually sounds like a 600 dollar exhaust, rather than 150 off ebay... I'll post a video soon..
