Great job! You have such a good rate of speech and teach very well. Thank you for sharing. Also, your nursery is beautiful, and so is your baby girl, of course!
This is a helpful video.. I have both the moby and the balboa baby... and it is the moby she loves best..I now feel at ease that I am indeed doing it right :)
I make these kinds of Wraps mine are called Cuddle Me Close Baby Wraps and they are only $25 each if anyone would like to get one you can order one on my website! If you have questions feel free to call or text me at 816-337-2280 and my name is Lindsey!
@sweetypie621 feel free to post your information, website, etc, but do not post your phone number. You could very easily be the target of international calling & spam. Good luck to you Mama!
great video.. i had a question.. i recently bought some material to make my own moby.. i got it from a scrap pile at the store and they had about 2.5 yards left and its about 54 inches wide.. can i just cut it in half and then sew the ends together to get the length i will need? .. i am a size 24 and would like enough room to tie the ends atleast on my side in case i need to sit.. .. much thanks for your help.
@terryandcylina Sorry for the extreme delay in response. This may be way past the point but I wanted to address your question. You could certainly do that but at every seam, there is potential for weakness & possibly ripping. If you sew them together, you want to make sure you reinforce the seams. Hope this helps.
I LOVED the baby noises before you picked up your baby, and then the kicking legs when you tucked her head under. SO cute! Thanks for the instruction. I am going to the fabric store tomorrow to make one, and wanted to find a video to make sure I put it on right. My baby is almost two months now.
Awesome vid, thank you sooooo much! I have a non-stretchable, rayon type fabric that I guess is too hot and uncomfy for my 1 month old. Gotta get new fabric!
Great video! I made my own Moby wrap too and it took me 6.5yards of fabric (I'm a bigger woman too!). I love that you used your daughter and not a baby doll! :)
5 stars and added to favorites! Thank you so much! My sis in law that lives out of state gave me one of these and we didn't have time for her to explain it to me....I was kind of dumbfounded, but now feel confident! Thanks again, and what a precious little girl! She seems so happy :)
This video is great! I was just about to order a Mai Tai because I thought the Moby was going to be too hard. But you have made me feel confident that I am going to be able to use my moby with my baby in a few weeks.
I have been watching every Youtube video out there on babywearing with a wrap and this was, by far, the most helpful. I especially enjoyed seeing a larger frame women like myself, since it answered a lot of my questions. I, also, would really appreciate if you would next do a video that addresses nursing a newborn comfortably. Thanks so much!
Great video.. I am only a couple months pregnant and keep running across these. Watched so many you tube videos, etc trying to figure out if I would want one of these.. I like them... however, not so trusting (til I use one myself)...
If I read right you made yours? I was debating if it was the same as buying a name brand like moby or I could just buy fabric? Sounds like it is just as easy to make your own :)
Thanks, the only question I have now, is how to put a new born in for nursing?
Wonderful video! You are so patient and explain everything perfectly. I just bought a new wrap to carry my son (and chase my daughter) and am overwhelmed by the length of the fabric. Your video has given me the courage to keep trying! Thank you so much!
thanks I love this I favorited it I am bigger and have 44 ddd breasts have a 15 month old and am due in 33 days with my second baby and I am going to buy a wrap Now I cant wait to use it thanks soo much
I love your vedio, thank you so much for posting it. Im a mom, who is a size bigger, and its nice seeing bigger moms wrapping cause i know im doing it right :)
I really liked the video also, I'm only 4 months pregnant but I want to know about all the beneficial things to do with a baby. (It is my first.) I actually want to go out and buy fabric now so I can practice with a stuffed animal! It is so tempting!
You are a fantastic instructor. What a helpful video!!! I am off to the fabric store now to go get material to make my own!!! Can't wait! I would love to know what types of fabric you recommend.
I use a knit for the wraps. Hobby Lobby has some new beautiful prints, approx $4.99-$10.99yd. Wal-mart has an excellent choice on the bargain rack with funky colors for cheap! You can get 3 wraps from one cut of fabric: measurement of 5yds-6yds, cut three 20 inch strips. I recently paid $1yd at wal-mart. Let me know if you have more questions.
Is it best to surge the edges of the fabric or just leave them alone after cutting it? When you say "knit", do you mean a cotton fabric? I'm not super familiar with fabric types.
No need to surge edges. That's the beauty of ease of this wrap. When you go to the fabric store or wal-mart, just ask someone to show you the knits. My favorite is jersey knit, like a t-shirt. It's kinda stretchy & usually a cotton blend fabric. Look on the top of the bolt of fabric & it will specifically say "knit." To get the 3 wraps from one cut, be sure it is 60 inches wide. Most knits I have come across are this width but read on the label to be sure.
I have watched tons of these videos trying to master the technique before I just go out and buy and I just wanted to say that your video was by far the best I have seen..Thanks so much for this! I am excited to try to wear my son now! ( and maybe actually get some house work done now) :)
