Don't pay! But don't put up with collection calls, either! My method stops all calls for good! I was a CA manager for years and know the REAL way to STOP ALL CALLS.
I say screw them all. They took billions of dollars out of our pockets already in the ILLEGAL, UNCONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT BAIL OUT - It you're in debt that you can't pay....FILE FOR BANKRUPTCY. It's not as bad as you think it is. Talk to a lawyer. If you can't afford the lawyer, call your county's Bar Association, they will be able to point you in the right direction to get legal help.
This video is so full of shit!!! If the collection agency is not the original debt holder, then don't discuss the matter of the debt with them. Ask them to send something in writing. Never give information about you over the phone. Only confirm info. They are not your friends they are committing fraud 9 out of 10 times.
@knowmoor ok but what happend went they purchase the debt. Its no good talking to the orginal creditor then casue they will just refer you to the debt collection agency who has all legal right to the debt
@badpanda84 but u dont have to deal with any collection agaency that can't verify the debt. That means they need to show u evidence that they have a contract with u which they don't have. The only way for them to get permission is to get u to discuss the debt with them. They will say anything to get u to acknoledge them as a party to the matter. Thats why they ask u to contact them about the legitimacy of the debt. That gives them imediate access
@badpanda84 Many times debt is bought or sold in bulk and bought and sold between different agencies and buyers with no supporting documentation. It is very difficult for agencies to prove they own the debt when this happens. That is why they try so hard to get you to acknowledge the debt and pay them something without ever having to show valid proof that you owe the debt and you owe the collector the debt.
Hi i got a call from debt collectors and they said this is regaring for bob slsre parent guared but im 14 and they said my name too but they wanted to talk to my parents what does that means? plz reply anyone im geting scared lol.
U can't owe anyone as a 14 year old. U r a minor & not old enough to sign a contract. A collector contacting ur parents is a joke because if they can get ur parents to discuss that issue then they can hold them responsible for the debt. Discussibg a debt issue with a collector is a way of giving them permission to collect from u. In turn ask the collector to contact u in writing & then firmly decline his entry into ur life.
@badpanda84 His parent are only responsible if they co-signed on the debt. Again if the creditor allowed a minor to contract without a parents signature then thats their loss bcuz a minor can't contract
My friend did hav2 pay his credit/card debt. Actually, he wasn't planning on paying them off @all...until he got served. Yup. He tried 2call back the debt collector but they told him it went back to Citi Bank(collectors only have a time span then it goes 2the bank's lawyers). Then Citi Bank began legal actions. He had to pay the debt, court costs, legal fees, etc. On the good side he was able to pay his other collector debts before they went to their credit card companies. Good luck to all!
This is a matter of survival. I couldn't pay my credit card bills and feed my family. I had to learn how to defend myself from collectors without spending money on a lawyer. I did, and I WON.
''so be aware and remember you must face your financial obligations'' hahahahaha!!!!!!!!! who told you that lady?? it isn't a criminal offence not to pay a debt!! you must be feeling really shitty right now as more and more people are becoming aware of their rights. we don't HAVE to pay yu jack shit!!!! why don't you get a more respectable job - like sucking a wart infested cock for a living.

I heard that if you settle for less than you owe the card companies will ten send you a 1099 and report the difference to the feds.
Anyone know if this is true?
sniper152 2 years ago
Yes the difference from what you owe and settle for you will have to pay taxes on.

Hi Sniper, I'm not sure how BK discharge works, I settled with my creditor.

@sniper152 It is considered forgiven debt which, for some reason, is considered income by the IRS so you would be taxed on it.

@knowmoor which is more that likely to be that case. I would be very surprised if that wasnt the case.
Besides who is stupid enough to sell anything to a 14 yr old on credit
