I don't think Maher is a wingnut, nor is Olbermann, for that matter. They tend to be very articulate and fairly moderate in their views. They simply point out facts and wuote people as far as anyone can tell acurately. Let's put it another way: Hannity, O'Reily and Coulter defend the worst president we've ever had. Olbermann and Maher merely point this out with facts! Valerie Plane, Gonzales, etc. were debacles in the Bush legacy. Olbermann is more articulate and is obviously mad about what Bush has done to this country, Maher does it with a sense of humor which neither Hannity, O'Reilly or Coulter possess.
