  • @cladiusw3 also I will point that while ASU has some nice chords goin on in their arrangements, they also have a shit load of intonation and a lot of LOUD ass wrong notes. Their saving grace is the trombones. @4:58 the 14k just shitted all over the silver bullets lol. In this battle, I rank as follows

    PV- 2 (excellent)

    ASU- 3 (Moderate...but needs work)

    (gotta love Texas UIL....lol)

So this battle goes to PV.

  • @cladiusw3 I miss this old PV. I mean PV now is...ok, I guess, but this PV had a solid bass sound and a full fat tone from the whole band. I miss that dark brassy blend PV had. Ppl think that balance and tone means playing at a triple pianissimo....so wrong. Balance and blend helps make a more intense sound that will travel. Its pure science. Hubba Prof. Edwards...RIP

    "Pac Man" aka Super Mario

  • @hellomrwest2k10 i feel the same way and I marched for PV. Us, JSU, TSU all had our own styles and were great at it. But nowadays everybody is tryna "out-Southern" Southern.

  • Yes All Blues!

  • this was the end of the season and we were almost halve the normal size. You know PV sound is PV sound. and even being almost an eighty piece band at this performance. stil the pwr and toncity goes to THE STORM.

  • THIS WAS MY CRAB YEAR IN THE STORM AND I REMEMBER ASU HAD SOME FIRE, BUT NON-THE-LESS. THE NEXT TIME WE MET, THEY WERE SPOOKED.

    PLUS THEIR CYBOLS WERE SUSPENDED.

  • THIS WAS MY CRAB YEAR IN THE STORM AND I REMEMBER ASU HAD SOME FIRE, BUT NON-THE-LESS. THE NEXT TIME WE MET, THEY WERE SPOOKED.

  • ASU SOUND WAYYYYY BETTER

  • @drebatton nope...just bigger. Bigger doesn't mean better. It means bigger.

  • @supabone CHECK YOUR BIASED EARS.... LISTEN AGAIN....ASU HAS WAY BETTER THING GOING.....

  • @supabone Very true. Bigger does mean bigger...lol Now because ASU is bigger than PV they are a bit louder than PV but does it matter if you are not phrasing together, playing as a band, nor in tune??? ASU did have a couple of wow moments but that was far and in between. PV showed more musicality and technique than ASU but it was a nice showing from both. Good job to both bands...

  • I should have known that would have been the first number (All Blues) Prof. Ed pulled up first in a 5th Quarter Battle....lol Good ole’ Prof....... From this particular clip, I have to give PV the edge on the basis of overall musicianship. ASU's articulations are muddy and intonation is suffering in some spots due to embouchure control.

  • Great showing from both. But whats with the three heavy characters in front of the band dancing their lives away

  • And I wonder why we stopped playing that Intro to PYT, i thought it was pretty nice....

  • Man i been lookin for clips from this game, my crab year @ PV. Wish the WHOLE band could've went but couldn't because of testing and some didnt think administration was gonna let us go... just like they pumped us up and said yeah yall going to AAMU, and everybody was at the band hall ready and NO buses ever showed up....

  • Man you always have the clips...I was wondering who we played (ASU or AAMU). appreciate this.

  • I didnt think they ever saw each other lol needs to happen again.
