Casual racism? That accusation is funnier than this sketch. Did you miss the point that the joke isn't the accents themselves, but that it would be absurd and inappropriate if a presenter did this? Just the same as it would be if such a show existed as 'Prejudice'? Do a search on Youtube for 'Monty Python - Prejudice'. Jeez, you better not search for 'Never Be Rude to an Arab' by Python. @midianholic I'm not sure where the lazy European stereotypes are here, all I see are people making fun of the Eurovision Song Contest, especially as it was back then. Sure, it involves imitating some accents, is that what you're getting at? British comedy frequently consists of over the top imitations of people, voices, accents. At what point does it become 'racist'? Most people who find this sketch funny (and personally, I don't think it's great!) won't be BNP members or even casual racists!

@andylornastuff Totally! It is laughing at Eurovision, not Europeans. I get where midianholic's coming from, I really do, but this isn't racism, it's just silly! I mean, if someone does a comic impression of an English person, no one calls them racist, it's just funny. And in defence of Python, there's a lot of anti-prejudice stuff in their comedy, as well as the funny voices. It's like, there's all those gay refs in Python, but everyone knows they're not derogatory. Same with the race stuff.
