i wabt to install Open suse 11 on my pc...But i already have windows xp on a partition (C). How can i install it it on another partition (E) without effecting the windows partition??? Please help!!!
If there is the Partition manager, just delete the Partition and pick the free space to install it to... You can do it, I did that with SuSE 9.2 Pro as I was 7 :D
in my opinion ubuntu is better with drivers and provides and easy learning experience. once you get more experience'd with it then just try to find a linux distro that best fits your needs.
and yes, insert the cd and make sure in your BIOS that it set to boot of cd. then just install it over windows.
I liked the first part better.

google, dual boot, or search on the SuSE Forums. It can be done, but needs time.
