  • IF SOMEONE COME TO MEXICO - GUADALAJARA I GLADLY DO SOME OLD FASHIONED TRAINING!! (i do muay thai, karate kyokushinkai ,taekkyon, soo bahk do,box, jiujitsu)

  • -.- someone steal my video damm u cowards this was a memory when i use to love soo bahk do,why dont even ask for use this!?

  • excellent !!! i love Soo Bahk Do....

  • so who here is a soo bahk do midnight blue?

  • @villainoussnakedr me lolz

  • @Rashomon1989 nice bro, whats you don bom number?

  • @villainoussnakedr um ,i dont remember actually most of my belts,i trew them...they were kinda useless for me,but i like the smell of a dobohk *3* aldo a karate gi its good.

  • @Rashomon1989 yea ot's has a distinctive smell to it. I just don't like how stiff it is. I always fell like I have to fix myself when I wear it lol

  • @villainoussnakedr its have more quality the soo bahk do dobokh than the karate or tkd gi, i love to use it,still i comeback to do tkd(Yup i quit muay thai and mma XD)

  • @Rashomon1989 I love the art. it's one of a kind,but I feel like It's becoming commercialized now

  • @villainoussnakedr Sadly, but true...still i love training : 3 so if someone come to mexico, guadalajara call me !! and we do some old fashioned traning!!

  • @Rashomon1989 well If I ever go back to mexico, I'll be sure to hit you up friend

  • Thank you Neutrino78x! I hear a lot of people that say "I practiced Soo Bahk Do or Tae Kwon Do for 5-6 years and it wasn't effective." My question for some of them is, why didn't you leave or ask the instructor some questions if they felt that way? It's usually either the instructor, the curriculum's emphasis, or the practitioner that is the issue in these instances. It would appear that you're in a good class and I encourage you to stick with it!

  • I'm so sick of people saying that classical martial arts are useless. What works in the ring doesn't necessarily work in a real confrontation. Some of these people who bash arts like SBD/TKD in favor of "mixed martial arts" fail to understand that many mma schools focus on tournament and NOT self protection. There are Mc Dojos out there too but, not all of us practice and teach useless concepts.

  • @42Cleve right on, at our studio we did the anti-grappling on day 1 (where you practice how to break someone's grip etc.) also our studio was all about keeping your hands up, and they tought you how to fight with hands first and then taught kicking afterward.

  • @TheShotokankarateguy I humbly suggest that some practitioners are weak on stances, not the art. It just adds some Chinese soft style influence to the Shotokan, so it's not entirely a hard style.

  • @ChessWCM888 already i won alot of fights using sbd,but still its only my opinion, i was a kid when i began to study sbd(already i love the kicks of sbd, like the axe kick *3*,also the punches of kimayase position),but then i realized ,that i was going to need ground fighting, close attacks, also more stamina and endurance for vale todo/muay thai fights

  • SOo Bahk DO translates as a lame version of shoto kan Karate. Kee aided in the Japanese occupation of korea during wwII. Kee learned a limited version of Shotokan and has tried to pass it off as a martial art. How sad.

  • My kwanjangnim was a personal student of Supreme Grand Master Hwang Kee. Our style has undergone many name changes thru the years. While we have always been MooDukKwan, we've been know as KongSooDo, TaeSooDo, Taekwondo, and now SooBahkDo, My Dan reads TaeKwonDo MooDukKwan, While our style name seems to continuously change I will always be MooDukKwan 1st. then I personaly prefer the Tang Soo do designation. I prefer the White top / Black trim / Black pants combo! :)

  • did for 6 years in England and was 3 months off my back belt, I'm 15 now and when i moved into another school far away i didnt get time to do it anymore so i had to stop :(

  • @alfiedabomb do mixed martial arts,or kickboxing

  • @alfiedabomb SOo Bahk DO translates as a lame version of shoto kan Karate. Kee aided in the Japanese occupation of korea during wwII. Kee learned a limited version of Shotokan and has tried to pass it off as a martial art. How sad.

  • @alfiedabomb U didnt have to stop, YOU CHOOSE TO STOP! You know what u know and no one can take that away only u can. If u practice what u already know u will be as good as any black belt out there, but then again only u can inspire u.

  • @alfiedabomb U STOPPED?! or got lazy!?! Just because ur not in a school is no reason to stop training. Do yourself a favor and start training yourself in what you already know. Then after a couple of years apply for your Shodan.

  • 2 weeks till i get my green belt sweet!

  • after 5 years training sbd, i move on,to practice mma/kenpo/muay thai, its nice sbd,but its pretty useless in a fight

  • @Rashomon1989 pretty arrogant statement

  • @Rashomon1989 useless in a fight? Perhapse u were not taught well. SBD is nothing more than japanese karate with more kicks. But then again if u learned it before 1980 then I can see why u say that.

  • @Rashomon1989 I've used my SBD skills to defend myself in several real life violent encounters. I'm not talking about "let's meet after school and settle this" or in a ring. I'm talking about gangbangers and other violent criminals. You go ahead and roll around on the ground in a street fight. I'm going to put the guy down hard and fast, exactly like I train to do.

  • hi everybody can someone tell me where is the volume 1 book online see im going for my dan test and im wondering where it is online and my instructor told me its online and i cant find it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @shaunfleury Since you posted 8 months ago, I assume you have already tested...I think volume 1 is still in print on the SBD site. I have one of the original releases....Just got to see Kwan Jang Nim Hwang Kee last weekend in Texas..( sept 25 and 26 2010 )

  • @avionicswirenut yeah im not in it anymore haha

  • whats with that kick! it looks odd! i wanna see it in live action! any links to vids with that kick would be great!

  • @cardonaman which kick are you referring to? the one at 0:39/0:46? it's called a twist kick...

  • what's the real difference(technical and philosophical) between soo bahk do, moodukwan taekwon-do and moodukwan tang soo do? What's the real difference from them to shotokan karate? Just some questions
