you nailed it. I used to watch Fox for a good laugh, but now it just seems there is way too much "counter-insurgency" against our President. He was elected by the people. Get over it Fox- good thing Rove just has a silly opinion and no real power. We gave Pres. Bush 8 years to mess things up. Fox pounced on Pres. Obama within a month after he took office and they haven't let up since... however, They are pretty good at propaganda... that is definately their Niche

Wonder why more and more people hates America? It is people like Karl Rove, Sarah Palin, Christie ODonnel, Rumsfeld, Behner, Miller,, Bachman, and a few half witted idiots call themselves governors and Meg Whitman are destroying America today. These are ALL SHORT TIME politicians with NO brains. They should be kicked out of the country along with the Fox people like Hannity, O'Riley, Glen Feck and Rush Limbaugh. What a pathetic bunch!!!
odd that u never see who the armed forces are shooting at... i support em the servicemen, but why does the media never look down range? I mean if u can see a target down the iron sites of an m-16 why cant we see them from the camera?
Just a thought. The POTUS personally choose this general and has no battle experience of any kind. In that situation he must make an informed decision while trusting in the people he put in place. The decision has been made and we will see how it plays out. For my part, a surge doesn't take 2 years. That's a trickle.
It's not a matter if Rove was honest in his analysis or if Scott asked too much or too little. If you take away the Fox format it's no longer propaganda, it's just news. I can watch CNN if I want news. Tuning into Fox for news is like driving to a Chevy Dealership for a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk. -
It was the other way around during Vietnam. The war was run from the Whitehouse. The administration wouldn't let the military run that war nor would they listen to them.
I was there. Imagine if you will briefing 3 separate bombing missions from the ready room to the flight deck and those mission briefs coming from the administration NOT the pentagon or command. Westmoreland had more say than some but he never got what he wanted. At one point we had over 500,000 personnel in country and we still failed.
Lets also not forget Westmorland reporting great success month after month, year after year and it was all lies.
the new world order has hijacked our republic/world..wake up sheeple!..we all have an obligation living in the united states to defend the constitution, stop getting sucked in to the non sense, and start caring about your kids futures..go research operation northwoods, operation paperclip, project mockingbird,cointelpro,eugenics..go learn about the privately owned federal reserve that has stolen trillions and destroyed america
Huh? Ohhhh, I get it. Youre stereotyping Conservatives as ignorant, poor speakers and generally lagging. Haha. Thats funny. And, it makes sense. I mean, Im a Conservative and I know I must seem very ignorant even in this post. Is this the sum of what youve learned on MSNBC? I know they talk about more than just how backward Conservatives are. You should pay better attention. By the way, New Jersey and Virginia were taken over by a couple of dumb Conservatives in the elections yesterday. Crazy.
Nice job, ass hat. I don't watch televised news a-hurr, durr. I understand MSNBC is Bias. That doesn't change the fact that Conservatives are a bunch of jingoists hell-bent on destroying America if Liberals get into power.
New Jersey's a shit hole that has had a horrible choice in governors for a long time. I doubt Corzine will change his corrupt ways.
Hyuck? Looks like the "Conservative lingo" has become contagious. It suits you well. I say keep using it.
No televised news? Guess its YouTube all the way for you. Nice. Objective.
"Biased". Not "Bias". You should work on your spelling and curb your ignorant, low-class cursing.
Yes. We Conservatives are all identical in belief and approach. Keep believing that. And why would we need to destroy America? Liberal Democrats are well on their way without any help from us.
Rove is being disingenuous, Scot was shamming the reporters roll. In short, they were doing their regular roles at Fox.
But I think the real issue here is Pakistan. If Pakistan does not remove the safe haven on their side of the border, and does not allow U.S. troops to do so, then all the U.S. combat troops in the world can't do anything to end this war. So why send them? Right now, Pakistan has some work to do... Otherwise, the Taliban gains ground in both countries.
As I last heard(in passing only, not much detail) some of the Swat Valley strongholds have been negotiated away from the Taliban. What his means overall I couldn't say, but it may signal a repeat of the "Awakening Council" strategy used in Iraq. I.E., pay your enemy to be your friend.
Obama was elected Nov 08, so he has had 11 months to consider Afghanistan. In 2008, there were NATO meetings to consider the strategy for Afghanistan war. That NATO report was given to Obama in the Fall of 2008, and he made his adjustments to it, and announced the Obama Afghanistan Strategy on March 30, 2009. That's when he picked Gen McChrystal to run the war, and he was approved by Congress in Jun 09.
Its been 6 months since Obama's war strategy was implemented. Where is the leadership?
The bigger issue in Afghanistan is that Obama sent James Carvelle (worked for Clinton) to Afghanistan to direct the campaign against Harmid Karzi's! Carvelle was working for the guy who wanted to oust Karzi.
Why would Karzi want to cooperate with someone who wants him out of power?
Even is Karzi is a dictator, you don't change horses in the middle of a war.
The object should be for us to win. Forget about Bush & Rove, and lets get it done. Why has Obama taken over 5 weeks (and counting) do decide if he should put more troops in? He has had just about a year to think about this, where is the leadership? Does he want us to fail?
Why does he want the US to fail? How did he have 1 year to think about this? All the news that McChrystal leaked plus the Afghans voter fraud issue just came up within a few weeks ago... We have been in Afghan 8 years, and 5 weeks upset you? McChrystal may have asked for 40k troop, but if that would not work, the blame will be on Obama, so having to rework the strategy to adapt makes sense to me... The object is for us to win, even if it takes a few more weeks to sort things out...
Does he want us to fail? Of course not, you've got to realize how deep afghanistan goes into other problems. The opium production and trade not only fuels Al-Queda and the Taliban, but plays into the Drug War. So pulling out of Afghanistan is foolish seeing how that is where we needed to be. As for Iraq, we didn't have a reason and completely decimated the country causing further problems with Iran.
You can see how this is turning into a bottomless pit, and Obama has inherited it.
I feel like you could have nailed Fox news harder if you stuck to just the facts. I noticed several statements that felt like opinions, but clearly there is a gold mine of facts in there with which to show Fox news is biased.
Yes and yes both were fair considering they are partisans.
As for what should be done in Afghanistan, I am becoming more and more convinced the US needs to leave the region to its own devices and let the people there decide their future.
It seems to me, with the most recent "battle" between the White House and FOX, that LiberalViewer would be a key player in the debate with legit evidence displaying FOX's lies and mis-info. Every now and then when I watch Fox, I hear them cry about it and then ask for evidence to support the claims that they lie (especially O'Reilly). I contend that LV can send all the video's either to the WH or MSNBC or CNN.
No and No......and to confuse Fox News with journalism, is a mistake. The prez would do well to make the points that you make in your video. I believe as the time approaches for esculation, he'll do just that. The right seems to have a problem with a prez who is intelligent enough to recognize changing facts, and act accordingly.
wow. this dude is just full of fucking irony on 2 counts : hes talking about unreliability of somebody, i cant even name all the examples(cass sunstein, obama backtracking on marxist beliefs, and just other people like Van Jones.)and the fact he says fox news doesnt question his policies, why doesnt msnbc, the big 3 networks and cnn ask obama's czars such as Cass Sunstein why they think dogs and cats should have lawyers....i cant even fit all the irony and double standards from this in one post!!
Wow. You can't even answer the question. You sound like you have ADHD. His question was about Afghanistan and whether or not the Fox news correspondent or Karl Rove were "TRUTHFUL" about possible options? Your Beck tirade sounds like you are deflecting and caught in a rock and hard place. Just say uncle or don't reply.
I wasn't disagreeing with him on that, i personally don't care for Karl Rove and if u had read my post instead of the first sentence u would have known this. I just think its pretty funny and petty how this dude cherrypicks issues.
1. the Afghanistan war is one of the biggest "issues" facing America (hardly cherry picking).
and...
2. Fox news prides itself on being fair and balanced, a motto that doesn't seem applicable to democrats or liberals.
The main issue isn't whether or not you LIKE ROve ...its whether or not the reporter asked the tough probing questions of a prior employee of the last administration who got us into Afghanistan. Instead of deflecting answer the question.
well hello, looks like we have a fox news representative. "Lets not talk about the issues lets just distract people from the real topics". Thank you so much for posting your worthless thoughts
For getting mad at me for distracting everyone from uhm "the real topics" (which i think is a pretty funny thing to say since there are MUCH more pressing things to discuss politically than whether or not an advisor/czar from a PAST administration was completely honest or not. ( if u really need a list i can make one)
See you did it again, its not that hard to keep a conversation in topic. The video is supposed to dictate where the conversation goes, i know thats hard for fox news people to understand but i commoner... man "trickle down" much hahahahah
You see the past has something to do with with present. When Fox News turns to an employee of the Bush administration, who literally dropped the ball in Afghanistan(one of the major issues of the day),and asks for advice and doesn''t probe or ask him about other options....it doesn't give the audience an adequate representation of the PRESENT issue. Do you get a chuckle calling the Afghanistan war a NON-issue?
once again.....you're trying to intimidate me. He's finding minor faults with Karl Rove based on HIS OPINION of the Karzai Government. Since Liberalviewer is no military strategist anyway....how do you discern the "present issue" from opinion media like this? I would like to think that you aren't that stupid.
Intimidate you? or just bring logic to the conversation, while you desperately try to to be evasive and off topic. Corruption within the Afghanistan government would have an impact on our goal of trying to promote democracy in the region... would it not? 2:38 Thus influencing whether or not we should put an additional 40,000 troops and give billions of dollars to a corrupt country. Liberalviewer quotes Generals in 3:10, Do you view the entire clip or do you just give a knee JERK response?
Half of your comment is moot. It is once again opinion that the Afghanistan Government is corrupt. I personally think someone is considered corrupt the second they disagree with america. We arent giving money or troops to support afghanistan, we're giving money and troops to promote democracy amongst impoverished people who've lived through the taliban. These troops arent there for the karzai administration theyre there for the wellbeing of the people of afghanistan and to keep our asses safe k?
-It's a widely known fact that the Karzai government is corrupt. Stated everywhere from Fox News to the NY times.
Independent European election observers also reported widespread fraud in the last election.
-How can you promote democracy with a corrupt government?
You do understand its the government that's responsible for distributing food, supplies and protecting its people. Right? US only in a supportive type role
Karzai was a UNOCAL consultant who worked on the ENRON trans-Afghan pipeline project. That alone does not make him personally corrupt but he surely runs in corrupt company.
"Promote democracy with a corrupt government"? Truly democracy in America suffered under BUSH.
You're contradicting yourself. You said in an earlier post "whether or not we should put an additional 40,000 troops and give billions of dollars to a corrupt country" If we were just in a supportive we wouldnt be giving them that. And the way you said in the last bit that the government is responsible for distributing its food is an awful left extremist note to leave on. Once again your post is moot as corruption is in the eye of the beholder.
Are we adding Afghanistan as a state of the United States?? OF course not. Do you think before you post?We were in a supportive type role in Iraq as well, providing assistance to their GOVERNMENT, helping with elections, educating their troops, giving logistical support. A stable government is pivotal in transferring aid and resources to the people of Afghanistan, the alternative is throwing money away into an endless pit, where our goals are not met.You are living proof why GOP is out of power
-We are trying to help the people of Afghanistan. How?
-by fighting the taliban and freeing them from their tyranny.
-Almost comic book type fantasy portrayal of events with no succinct plan of how to achieve it.
-So US is supposed to be in Afghanistan indefinitely fighting the Taliban? What's the exit strategy. Are we nation building? If so is our money and troops being used wisely ?Can we afford it?These are common sense questions that your rhetoric doesn't seem to answer.
We're not there JUST for the people of afghanistan....by leaving afghanistan you're giving terrorists a safe haven, and not just anywhere, but in their spiritual home(afghanistan). And...."Is our money being spent wisely" oh wow...just wow....from your previous post your obviously a democrat. I need to get started on the stimulus, cap and trade and Healthcare....cap and trade...they told house republicans it had to be signed THAT night and they we need to read it so they hire a speed reader.
Less than 100 Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. We don't have to nation build in order contain Al Qaeda (Specific terrorist that's giving us trouble). Try to use a little less ambiguous propaganda to state your point. Specificity is not an enemy. There are more Al Qaeda in Sudan than in Afghanistan. The US needs to use its resources wisely not use a hammer where a surgical scapel is required. 5 year continued stay in Afghanistan close to 500 bill to 1 trillion dollars.
As i was saying before i ran out of characters, cap and trade , house or senate republicans say they need to read this bill before it passes, democrats say no time, so they hire a speed reader ( a person who reads it REALLY fast) and hes reads the whole bill at a pace no one can understand, the bill passes in that house of congress. Stimulus...dont get me started...There are pages obama hasnt read and pork out the wazoo....10 million dollars to a research as to why men dont like condoms...wow....
As you are trying to run desperately away from the topic of Afghanistan by giving ...lame, almost child like non SPECIFIC propaganda. Your solution simply throwing more money and troops at the problem. Noted. Why don't you leave this comment section because you've showed your hand?
Im just simply showing the irony and hypocrisy of your comments. If you'd like to call what im saying propaganda id think that'd be pretty kickass considering its not propaganda. You continuously try to end this conversation....sigh......
Or you can face the reality that obama has the lowest approval rating of post ww2 presidents in october of their first term (aside from....dum dum dum dum duuum...bill clinton)
LOL....he has 50-56%approval rating. I'm facing reality are you? My God conservatives really must grasp at straws to find something wrong with that. How can you recover from 21% END approval rating of Bush? Making up dum da dum dumb points to make your own reality better than what it actually is. GOP at one point had an approval rating in the teens. I'm sure they have a higher approval rating in your dreams.
First of all. I'm not associated with GOP. Party Lines is a big part of what is destroying this country. And just so you know Republicans are tied with democrats in the public opinion for 2010 for who they would vote for (gallup polls) next election, it wasnt like that 8 months ago....someones doing SOMETHING wrong.... and im not bothering with talking to you abotu afghanistan. It'll just go back to you sayin OH WELL ITS CORRUPT i have better things to than argue with a stubborn liberal...
Love how the conservative who is biting tooth and nail protecting GOP, (ROVE, BUSH, all things republican, Fox News, ect)...isn't associated with GOP. Your just providing bogus polls in support of them.
If it smells like duck, talks like a duck, by golly you're a duck. Closet republican/conservative...try to find common sense...you lost him with that comment.
I'm not associated with the GOP, just people in it. I dont like Rove or bush that much either. And i'm no secret conservative. If you want some common sense How about looking up someone called Thomas Paine or even Glenn Beck's book. The message is synonymous. Republican and conservative are not interchangable and i never denied being a conservative. Im a libertarian kthx.
Quoting Glenn Beck? Hurting your case. Its obvious you're a closet GOP fan. Libertarian lol...the great escape clause of not taking any responsibility for the GOP. SOrry it doesn't work.
No.....and i'll quote Glenn Beck any damn time i want to. People pretend he's lost credibility in order to pretend his questions and facts aren't there. And then they point out his famous racist quote. I'm sure all of this bias is why Glenn Beck's ratings are soaring ( i mean 2nd on television...#1 is bill o'reilly...both fox:D), in addition to fox being the most watched station on television by a (rather) large margin. go figure.
Look at whom Fox (Faux Pravda) broadcasts are aimed. You can always win market share programming to the LCD. Fox's message appeals to racist bigots and fundamentalist zealots (two groups who largely overlap). Hitler's popularity was based on just such a simple formula.
sorry i missed the part about BOGUS polls.....Gallup is the UNDERSTOOD medium in modern polling. Completely unbiased. I'd like to believe a lot of their polls are wrong, but theyre not. You can go to Rassmussen Reports if you'd like....some people call it biased but dont understand they survey likely voters in lieu of young adults so the numbers are usually a bit lower.
Did you miss the part that the GOP is out of power? and most polls show they aren't going to regain power anytime soon? If you want to pick an outlier to boost up your confidence, knock yourself out. You're a REPUBLICan er uh libertarian right?
The biggest problem for Karzai isn't his corruption (though it is a problem). It's his lack of legitimacy and the weakness of the Afghan state. He can't properly tax his people, nor is he in control of his military (which has smaller guns than the warlords throughout the country).
Giving him troops would make him stronger, but only as long as we kept them there. He needs to raise his own army if he wants to stay in power. to do that, we need to improve the tax system.
and bring in trade and business no doubt western business to get an economic system going the main problem is the warlords have more money per capita because of the drug trade they control
In the late fifties there was a book written about the American style of foreign relations and the way we try to respond to our enemies efforts in third world nations. It was written by William Lederer and Eugene Burdick and called "The Ugly American". It seems that Cheney read the book and tried to pattern his life after it. In so many ways, American businessmen have acted abominably overseas and through lobbyists have spread that to US foreign policy. It is a tragic mistake,
the islam will dominate the world because is the real truth of the religion isthe last testament for this world because the christianisme+ the judaisme= the ko in this world please please look the destiny
usa kill tortured a lot muslim you country is not religious because the devils it s you you patrie and you sectaire gouvernement burowsky you is the commanditaire in afganistan the usa you regreted this disgrace vous avez tué violé torturée des centaine et de centaine e civils musulman your society american is the burn
hey, man. the devil doesn't exist. just thought i'd let you know. plus religion doesn't even apply to today's society. its nutjobs like you that think your religion is better than someone else that allows genocide to happen, because thinking that you are superior to someone else dehumanizes them and allows for extreme violence to take place.
anyways, just calm down and let everyone live their own lives in peace.
Notice, they keep touting "democratic government" when they damn well know that the better system is a democratically elected representative/rule of law type of government. Notice, too, that that latter mentioned system is what the Founding Fathers meant the US to be and felt that a democracy on its own was a tyranny of the majority.
My impression is not so much that McChrystal (sp?) was taken to task for his advice but for giving it in public. It's true presidents have to make policy and set goals. But you need military men to make war, and a president must respect the military and those who give miltary advice--unlike the way Bush did with Shenseki (sp). That said, I don't really know enough to have much of an opinion. But nothing is too credible when it comes from Karl Rove or the other 'bama bash bots.
It's hard to tell if they are outright liars or blinded by their hate of Democrats. The fraud in the Afghanistan election and its evidence of corruption is overlooked by those wanting to make Obama look like he's a flipflopper or afraid to make a difficult decision.
we can solve this problem by sending in additional troops, like karl rove said, consisting of karl rove, dick cheney, bush jr, sarah palin, and all the other republicans and their families.
then we can pass the uncompromised version of obama's healthcare plan haha.
"This is a limited program designed to prevent attacks on the United States of America -- and I repeat: limited." -George W. Bush (January,1, 2006) Regarding NSA warrantless surveillance programs.
"The government will make use of these powers only insofar as they are essential for carrying out vitally necessary measures...The number of cases in which an internal necessity exists for having recourse to such a law is in itself a limited one." -Hitler (March,23,1933) Regarding THe Enabling Act.
Our government has kept us in a perpetual state of fear - kept us in a continuous stampede of patriotic fervor - with the cry of grave national emergency. ~General Douglas MacArthur
"It is part of the general pattern of misguided policy that our country is now geared to an arms economy which was bred in an artificually induced psychosis of war hysteria and nurtured upon an incessant propaganda of fear."
Why is it that Rove can ignore a subpoena? Aren't they in any way legally binding? Do they carry the same heft as an invitation to a birthday party?
And along the same lines:
Why has Rove not been charged with treason? Wasn't he deeply involved in outing Valery Plame? Outing a covert CIA agent is a crime against the state, no?
And now, to answer your questions.
Rove is just one pathological liar among everyone else at Fox.
Huh? A Veto Pen? Someone (presumably Bush) had the power to veto a subpoena? I thought he could only veto bills. But hey, excuse my ignorance, I'm not even American.
Afghanistan is a cemetery for fallenempires and the US should have checked the tombstones of the ones that tread there before them and they will come to the same fate...R.I.P †
Karl Rove does not know the meaning of the word "honesty", and should be behind bars.Aghanistan is the graveyard of empires.........there will never be a democracy , it is a tribal nation. Stop the debt and death and bring home the regular troops . If necessary leave an undercover special ops force in, till things cool down.
First question: Rove and Fox are dishonest asses and to expect anything less is naive.
Second: I don't think our main goal should be the establishment of a liberal democracy in an area that has never seen democracy (at least on a non-local level). Nation-building in the former Axis powers and other countries were easy because they had native democratic institutions, but I think the best we can hope for in Afghanistan is a regime that's stable and anti-terrorist.
fixed news guy should unload a shitload of diarrhea into rove's gaping lying mouth and have doughboy rove returning the favor to dumbed down fixed guy!!!
I always wonder why people focus on troop numbers. It's an important aspect, but one of many. If you only look at numbers you're probably going to lose the war.
I think Obama should just send 40,000 troops over there, just to get the Republicans off his ass. Keep them in a safe base, playing ping-pong for a few months. Make sure nobody gets killed. Then bring them back home. Obama is a big hawk war president, so the right-wing cant criticize him. And nobody gets hurt.
Yes it would be stupid to spend all that money to do that, but when Republicans are involved, politicians have to do some stupid things to make them happy.
How does it matter????!!! Perhaps because BUSH LIED TO AMERICA to start these WARS FOR PROFIT. TYPICAL NEOCON TRAITOR trying to cover up the crimes of a Republican and place blame elsewhere. This will CONTINUE until Americans DEMAND that BUSH/CHENEY be put in prison for their crimes.
FORD should have been IMPEACHED for pardoning Nixon and there is a good number of progressives that are talking about impeaching Obama for not prosecuting BUSH. You cannot promise change and then do the same.
When I worked for ENRON, they had a meeting along with UNOCAL with a group of foreign leaders to cut a deal to build a pipeline from the Caspian Sea to the Indian Subcontinent where they were building a large power plant. The foreign leaders objected to doing business with ENRON mostly on moral grounds.
Immediately after the ENRON board began discussing regime change in that country but they needed to get THEIR GUY in the WH to make it happen. The foreign leaders were...the TALIBAN.
LiberalViewer is a radical leftist who thinks all media should be left. So when you speak for fairness you are talking about making all the media left. I wouldn't vote for that in a million years. FOX is just one station that's not Liberal. All the other are Left. How in the hell can you fight for fairness when the Right has less stations than the Left? That's what makes Liberals liars.
What about the dead soldiers the liberal media put on TV prior to last years elections and telling over and over everyday how many were killed? YOur whining about something that you already did.
As to the Afghanistan question, I think a true Rovian would rail against the current de facto dictatorship, and give it Iraq's former spot in the Axis of Evil. Then he would do the patriotic American thing of spreading democracy and freedom to liberate the oppressed Afghani people.
The sad thing you point out is how Fox hires this guy who obviously has a conflict of interest. He's still working on behalf of the Bush administration, trying to salvage its legacy by rewriting history.
Did you notice you were the only one with a leftist view on this video? Seems the country is aware now, and even Youtube, which used to be 10-1 lieftists, has flopped over to Americans.
Leo Strauss, the NEOCON guru, taught that it was OK to LIE to the PEOPLE if it brought more power to the NEOCON elite. Strauss came to America on a Rockefeller grant arranged by Carl Schmitt who was the German lawyer for Fritz Thyssen, Prescott BUSH and....ADOLF HITLER. NEOCONS are fascists without the anti-semitism.
I think the phrase 'faux news' is acceptable. Why? Because they purport to be a news reporting agency, when the easily observable fact is that they are - almost exclusively - an editorial enterprise that focuses on rhetoric and personal spin.
I know what you're saying, of course, and it's a fair point. But Obama's middle name has nothing to do with his policy, where Fox claims to present the news, and basically does not.
Nix ~ isn't trying to be totally black and white, of course.
Yeah, you're right of course. For myself, I don't listen to any of them for 'news'. So, to call me a liar is somewhat silly. What I said was the truth. I didn't for a moment suggest that other stations do a better job - just that Fox claims to be the best source for public 'news'. They are not. Nor is Capitalist Neuvaux Nincompoops. That make you feel any better?
Nix ~ is not a liar, for pointing out the truth. And, has no major media bias.
I served TAD on the USS Turner Joy some time after the '64 incident that LBJ used to officially start the war in Vietnam. NO ONE that I met on that ship believed that they were attack in the Tonkin Gulf. Even the Navy and Robert McNamara now admit that the "attacks" NEVER HAPPENED. See what happens when a Texas cowboy president gets too much power.
Bullshit, they where fighting and losing against Russia before Reagan had the CIA help them. At the time it was the right thing to do and Afghanistan has been in a very fluid state ever since. We are not responsible in any way for the inherently violent aspects of Islam nor are we responsible for the radical fundamentalism being seen around the world. Unlike Obama, Ronald Reagan knew how to deal with radical Islam and he demonstrated that in Operation Preying Mantis.
GOVERNMENT of the people, by the people, and for the people -- IS GOOD.
Hello!!
I love being a progressive. All you have to do is tell the truth, and quote Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln -- and talk about how great our American system of government is, things which everybody already knows are true.
Well, surely the President can't change his strategy for Afghanistan. If there's one thing I learned from the Republican smearing of John Kerry in 2004, it's that changing your mind in the face of changed circumstances or additional information makes you a "flip-flopper."
Karl Rove is the Anti-Christ. Having said that, I unfortunately have to agree at least partly with what he said on Fox. It doesn't matter that the current government of Afghanistan is rotten to the core and as corrupt as can be. In order to give the country at least the chance to have a democracy, everything must be done to win the war there, although this might not necessarily mean that a troop increase is required, as several military commanders have pointed out.
BUSH was the greatest recruiting tool that the Taliban and al Qaeda ever had. They called America the "GREAT SATAN" and when BUSH was in office, they were right. The Bible says that Satan does not fight Satan and therefore BUSH does not fight the Taliban and al Qaeda. With BUSH in the WH BOTH have grown enormously. So WHO suffered in Iraq and Afghanistan? Estimates are that over 100,000 innocent people have died in Iraq alone. Men, women, children, babies. Now isn't THAT Satanic?
No, that is called, fighting a war on terror. Better to fight it there than here otherwise, eventually they would take over this country. So what's better? You work against yourself and eventually you will loose everything you are and have. That IS common sense. You Democrats are so screwed up and are screwing other Americans with your lies everyday.
So you want to IGNORE the terrorists operating in America? That is VERY dangerous to Americans and American democracy. The BUSH terrorists family needs to be exposed, arrested, prosecuted and imprisoned, THEN and ONLY then will we be on the road to peace.
There's no internationally agreed definition of terrorism. But a common on is: "the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion". You know, things like COINTELPRO? During the 60's, when the FBI practiced terrorism and targeted American minorities, civil rights activists, and almost all groups protesting the Vietnam War? So tell me, since you would probably call those groups leftists, are you opposed to that kind of terrorism?
If you learn someone is going to kill you and even if they have already killed some of your fellow country men and women, you do something about it. That, to me, IS the war on terror. As long as they keep teaching IT, IT will be there.
So are you saying that the BUSH family should be killed? I oppose that. I think it would be enough to put them in prison and confiscate their wealth under the RICO laws against organized crime. You ARE correct that as long as we do not put the BUSH family in prison, they will continue to murder people for money.
Hey New Video - If it were true that if something might or could be a danger to us that we are required to do something about it - someone would or should grab you and sterilize you so that we don't end up with any of your offspring
Ok, we've learned from the past that the FBI and CIA have killed fellow country men and women for political and unjust purposes. Even people like Martin Luther King were targeted by the government. So by the logic in your previous comment, you should be against the conservative principles that are responsible for inflicting violence and segregation on other fellow countrymen who speak out against such unjust policies. But instead, you choose to believe that violence solves violence.

The generals should work the civilian government not the other way around, lest we would like another Vietnam.
qanazir 2 years ago
It was the other way around during Vietnam. The war was run from the Whitehouse. The administration wouldn't let the military run that war nor would they listen to them.
lindo745 2 years ago
This analysis is rather apologetic for the military leadership. Westmoreland had, by all accounts, a quite large say in what was going on in Vietnam.
Though Johnson did of course play a large role too, he sadly lacked the courage to not escalate the war further.
qanazir 2 years ago
I was there. Imagine if you will briefing 3 separate bombing missions from the ready room to the flight deck and those mission briefs coming from the administration NOT the pentagon or command. Westmoreland had more say than some but he never got what he wanted. At one point we had over 500,000 personnel in country and we still failed.
Lets also not forget Westmorland reporting great success month after month, year after year and it was all lies.
We should never have been there.

The object should be for us to win. Forget about Bush & Rove, and lets get it done. Why has Obama taken over 5 weeks (and counting) do decide if he should put more troops in? He has had just about a year to think about this, where is the leadership? Does he want us to fail?
FL337 2 years ago
Why does he want the US to fail? How did he have 1 year to think about this? All the news that McChrystal leaked plus the Afghans voter fraud issue just came up within a few weeks ago... We have been in Afghan 8 years, and 5 weeks upset you? McChrystal may have asked for 40k troop, but if that would not work, the blame will be on Obama, so having to rework the strategy to adapt makes sense to me... The object is for us to win, even if it takes a few more weeks to sort things out...
ricezman 2 years ago
Does he want us to fail? Of course not, you've got to realize how deep afghanistan goes into other problems. The opium production and trade not only fuels Al-Queda and the Taliban, but plays into the Drug War. So pulling out of Afghanistan is foolish seeing how that is where we needed to be. As for Iraq, we didn't have a reason and completely decimated the country causing further problems with Iran.
You can see how this is turning into a bottomless pit, and Obama has inherited it.
MetalEagle95 2 years ago
Exactly. If we ended the war on drugs and legalized all drugs, the major source of income for the taliban would literally evaporate over night.

Wow. You can't even answer the question. You sound like you have ADHD. Notahappyperson 2 years ago
Considering ..
1. the Afghanistan war is one of the biggest "issues" facing America (hardly cherry picking).
and...
Instead of deflecting answer the question.
bms4lifem3 2 years ago
oh yeah, fox news is totally fair and balanced........(and the moon is made of old green cheese...)....

tai006 2 years ago
For getting mad at me for distracting everyone from uhm "the real topics" (which i think is a pretty funny thing to say since there are MUCH more pressing things to discuss politically than whether or not an advisor/czar from a PAST administration was completely honest or not. See you did it again, its not that hard to keep a conversation in topic. The video is supposed to dictate where the conversation goes, i know thats hard for fox news people to understand but i commoner... man "trickle down" much hahahahah
tai006 2 years ago
You see the past has something to do with with present. When Fox News turns to an employee of the Bush administration, who literally dropped the ball in Afghanistan(one of the major issues of the day),and asks for advice and doesn''t probe or ask him about other options....it doesn't give the audience an adequate representation of the PRESENT issue. Do you get a chuckle calling the Afghanistan war a NON-issue?
bms4lifem3 2 years ago
once again.....you're trying to intimidate me. He's finding minor faults with Karl Rove based on HIS OPINION of the Karzai Government. Since Liberalviewer is no military strategist anyway....how do you discern the "present issue" from opinion media like this? I would like to think that you aren't that stupid.
Notahappyperson 2 years ago
Intimidate you? or just bring logic to the conversation, while you desperately try to to be evasive and off topic. Corruption within the Afghanistan government would have an impact on our goal of trying to promote democracy in the region... would it not? 2:38 Thus influencing whether or not we should put an additional 40,000 troops and give billions of dollars to a corrupt country. Liberalviewer quotes Generals in 3:10, Do you view the entire clip or do you just give a knee JERK response?
bms4lifem3 2 years ago
Half of your comment is moot. It is once again opinion that the Afghanistan Government is corrupt. I personally think someone is considered corrupt the second they disagree with america. We arent giving money or troops to support afghanistan, we're giving money and troops to promote democracy amongst impoverished people who've lived through the taliban. These troops arent there for the karzai administration theyre there for the wellbeing of the people of afghanistan and to keep our asses safe k?
Notahappyperson 2 years ago
Your points don't make any sense at all.
Right? US only in a supportive type role
bms4lifem3 2 years ago
Karzai was a UNOCAL consultant who worked on the ENRON trans-Afghan pipeline project. That alone does not make him personally corrupt but he surely runs in corrupt company.
"Promote democracy with a corrupt government"? Truly democracy in America suffered under BUSH.
exenrontexas 2 years ago
You're contradicting yourself. You said in an earlier post "whether or not we should put an additional 40,000 troops and give billions of dollars to a corrupt country" If we were just in a supportive we wouldnt be giving them that. And the way you said in the last bit that the government is responsible for distributing its food is an awful left extremist note to leave on. Once again your post is moot as corruption is in the eye of the beholder.
Notahappyperson 2 years ago
Are we adding Afghanistan as a state of the United States?? OF course not. Do you think before you post?We were in a supportive type role in Iraq as well, providing assistance to their GOVERNMENT, helping with elections, educating their troops, giving logistical support. A stable government is pivotal in transferring aid and resources to the people of Afghanistan, the alternative is throwing money away into an endless pit, where our goals are not met.You are living proof why GOP is out of power
bms4lifem3 2 years ago
-We are trying to help the people of Afghanistan. How?
-by fighting the taliban and freeing them from their tyranny.
-Almost comic book type fantasy portrayal of events with no succinct plan of how to achieve it.
-So US is supposed to be in Afghanistan indefinitely fighting the Taliban? What's the exit strategy. Are we nation building? If so is our money and troops being used wisely ?Can we afford it?These are common sense questions that your rhetoric doesn't seem to answer.
bms4lifem3 2 years ago
We're not there JUST for the people of afghanistan....by leaving afghanistan you're giving terrorists a safe haven, and not just anywhere, but in their spiritual home(afghanistan). And...."Is our money being spent wisely" oh wow...just wow....from your previous post your obviously a democrat. I need to get started on the stimulus, cap and trade and Healthcare....cap and trade...they told house republicans it had to be signed THAT night and they we need to read it so they hire a speed reader.
Notahappyperson 2 years ago
Less than 100 Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. We don't have to nation build in order contain Al Qaeda (Specific terrorist that's giving us trouble). Try to use a little less ambiguous propaganda to state your point. Specificity is not an enemy. There are more Al Qaeda in Sudan than in Afghanistan. The US needs to use its resources wisely not use a hammer where a surgical scapel is required. 5 year continued stay in Afghanistan close to 500 bill to 1 trillion dollars.
bms4lifem3 2 years ago
As i was saying before i ran out of characters, cap and trade , house or senate republicans say they need to read this bill before it passes, democrats say no time, so they hire a speed reader ( a person who reads it REALLY fast) and hes reads the whole bill at a pace no one can understand, the bill passes in that house of congress. Stimulus...dont get me started...There are pages obama hasnt read and pork out the wazoo....10 million dollars to a research as to why men dont like condoms...wow....

Notice, they keep touting "democratic government" when they damn well know that the better system is a democratically elected representative/rule of law type of government. Notice, too, that that latter mentioned system is what the Founding Fathers meant the US to be and felt that a democracy on its own was a tyranny of the majority.
RyuDarragh 2 years ago
My impression is not so much that McChrystal (sp?) was taken to task for his advice but for giving it in public. It's true presidents have to make policy and set goals. But you need military men to make war, and a president must respect the military and those who give miltary advice--unlike the way Bush did with Shenseki (sp). That said, I don't really know enough to have much of an opinion. But nothing is too credible when it comes from Karl Rove or the other 'bama bash bots.

I always wonder why people focus on troop numbers. It's an important aspect, but one of many. If you only look at numbers you're probably going to lose the war.
lordcheetah 2 years ago
I think Obama should just send 40,000 troops over there, just to get the Republicans off his ass. Keep them in a safe base, playing ping-pong for a few months. Make sure nobody gets killed. Then bring them back home. Obama is a big hawk war president, so the right-wing cant criticize him. And nobody gets hurt.
Yes it would be stupid to spend all that money to do that, but when Republicans are involved, politicians have to do some stupid things to make them happy.
taoofmichael 2 years ago
No, I think as long he called himself a democrat, they'd critize him even if he did exactly what they said they wanted him to do.

ITS HIS WAR NOW BECAUSE HE MADE IT HIS WAR!!!!
joepglass 2 years ago
How does it matter????!!! Perhaps because BUSH LIED TO AMERICA to start these WARS FOR PROFIT. TYPICAL NEOCON TRAITOR trying to cover up the crimes of a Republican and place blame elsewhere. This will CONTINUE until Americans DEMAND that BUSH/CHENEY be put in prison for their crimes.
FORD should have been IMPEACHED for pardoning Nixon and there is a good number of progressives that are talking about impeaching Obama for not prosecuting BUSH. You cannot promise change and then do the same.

Yeah, because the president can magically make a current war go away when he takes office.
Or maybe you think we should leave Afghanistan in the mess it's in and take no responsibilty our actions in it.

NEOCONS are fascists without the anti-semitism.

please don't right "faux news", it's like when conservatives say "obama huessain" or something, it just makes you look stupid.
NoTalentSucks 2 years ago

See what happens when a Texas cowboy president gets too much power.

Bullshit, they where fighting and losing against Russia before Reagan had the CIA help them. At the time it was the right thing to do and Afghanistan has been in a very fluid state ever since. We are not responsible in any way for the inherently violent aspects of Islam nor are we responsible for the radical fundamentalism being seen around the world. Unlike Obama, Ronald Reagan knew how to deal with radical Islam and he demonstrated that in Operation Preying Mantis.

Well, surely the President can't change his strategy for Afghanistan. If there's one thing I learned from the Republican smearing of John Kerry in 2004, it's that changing your mind in the face of changed circumstances or additional information makes you a "flip-flopper."
eunicron 2 years ago
The only thing Carl Rove analysis is how to lie, spin and sway the simple minded to achieve a goal. Why is he still walking around in public?
WeBeGood06 2 years ago
Karl Rove is the Anti-Christ. Having said that, I unfortunately have to agree at least partly with what he said on Fox. It doesn't matter that the current government of Afghanistan is rotten to the core and as corrupt as can be. In order to give the country at least the chance to have a democracy, everything must be done to win the war there, although this might not necessarily mean that a troop increase is required, as several military commanders have pointed out.
slightlygrouchy 2 years ago
I disagree. The ends do not justify the means when the means have impacts on the future lives of Afghanis.

What about the terrorists? Just leave them alone right? They will just go away?
TheNewVideo 2 years ago
BUSH was the greatest recruiting tool that the Taliban and al Qaeda ever had. They called America the "GREAT SATAN" and when BUSH was in office, they were right. The Bible says that Satan does not fight Satan and therefore BUSH does not fight the Taliban and al Qaeda. With BUSH in the WH BOTH have grown enormously. So WHO suffered in Iraq and Afghanistan? Estimates are that over 100,000 innocent people have died in Iraq alone. Men, women, children, babies. Now isn't THAT Satanic?
exenrontexas 2 years ago
No, that is called, fighting a war on terror. Better to fight it there than here otherwise, eventually they would take over this country. So what's better? You work against yourself and eventually you will loose everything you are and have. That IS common sense. You Democrats are so screwed up and are screwing other Americans with your lies everyday.
TheNewVideo 2 years ago
So you want to IGNORE the terrorists operating in America? That is VERY dangerous to Americans and American democracy. The BUSH terrorists family needs to be exposed, arrested, prosecuted and imprisoned, THEN and ONLY then will we be on the road to peace.
exenrontexas 2 years ago
There's no internationally agreed definition of terrorism. But a common on is: "the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion". You know, things like COINTELPRO? During the 60's, when the FBI practiced terrorism and targeted American minorities, civil rights activists, and almost all groups protesting the Vietnam War? So tell me, since you would probably call those groups leftists, are you opposed to that kind of terrorism?
CodeRed001 2 years ago
If you learn someone is going to kill you and even if they have already killed some of your fellow country men and women, you do something about it. That, to me, IS the war on terror. As long as they keep teaching IT, IT will be there.
TheNewVideo 2 years ago
So are you saying that the BUSH family should be killed? I oppose that. I think it would be enough to put them in prison and confiscate their wealth under the RICO laws against organized crime. You ARE correct that as long as we do not put the BUSH family in prison, they will continue to murder people for money.
exenrontexas 2 years ago
Hey New Video - If it were true that if something might or could be a danger to us that we are required to do something about it - someone would or should grab you and sterilize you so that we don't end up with any of your offspring
hdhighway 2 years ago
Ok, we've learned from the past that the FBI and CIA have killed fellow country men and women for political and unjust purposes. Even people like Martin Luther King were targeted by the government. So by the logic in your previous comment, you should be against the conservative principles that are responsible for inflicting violence and segregation on other fellow countrymen who speak out against such unjust policies. But instead, you choose to believe that violence solves violence.
CodeRed001 2 years ago
The past is NOT today. Most All those things are gone. So now what does the radical leftist do? Insist they all do? If they do, it is very little but there are a is little in the Democrat party as well. No, you can't get away with saying that everyone is just like they used to be.
