does anyone know the name of the song that plays at the beginning of this film? i remember hearing it played on a boombox in hanoi and in this film. any help with the title would be greatly appreciated.
@umhalil Ok good, but I did re-read it and I thnk you may have writen it incorrectly as you posted " War is a racket. Big bidnezz. If there's no war, there's no money to be made." Maybe you meant to post If there is no war for somepeople in the business of war then there's no money to be made.
@umhalil war is business but you are totally wrong and totally manipulated when you say if "if there is no war there is no money to be made." Please try to understand the manipulative proganda of "special interests". Those special interests invest billions of dollars in public relations campaigns that so easily manipulate the US public. There are several different methods avaible to achieve much higher levels of economic growth then war. Infrastructure invesment is far more effective then war
How this guy can even lied that much . . . .US never came truth the WWII . . . .The WWII created by Mongols to genocid all American, all European people . . . .The only luck for US and Europe. . . Soviet were very brave , very moral . . .Fought against to Mongols and Eastern Europe to saved US and Europe. . .
@Rico8458 I don't think that was ever seriously considered. The US pegged Ho for what he was -- a dyed in the wool communist that only used references to the US constitution for window dressing. Some in the US left like Jane Fonda actually thought he was reasonable guy who could have accepted a political solution or neutrality for South Vietnam. Not bloody likely. It was all a ruse. Like the promise to let Laos stay neutral in 1962. What happened? NV invaded and took over!
I'd encourage any of you to take a trip to Vietnam. I went there last month for several weeks. Like most of Asia it`s a thriving capitalistic society, as free as any "freedom" you'll experience in the west. But most importantly, the Vietnamese people are wonderful, the country is gorgeous and the culture is interesting. Also, it's very tourist friendly now, and accomidations range from guesthouses to posh hotels (if that's your thing).
Wars started since Lenin formed Third International with the strategy that Russia helps communist parties of Third Wold countries to take power in order to isolate capitalist countries. Capitalist countries must stop communist expansion. Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos were conflict points. Communists knew their would be deaths but they believe the end justifies the mean
Lo cakes i think it was kinda stupid how U.S got into the war they just had to push it man i mean like why the fuck were you having your warships in tonkin france allies was loseing who gave a crap.I mean really the french was asking for there asses to get kick why bother they should not have come back to rule vietnam they were even worst than the stupid japs. And U.S forgot what effort vietnam help with in WW2.
Lo cakes uh yeah they did the japs went into indochina and conquer the whole part of asia cuz during that time they were in major needs for oil for their war machines so they took over vietnam becuz vietnam had a great supply of oil and rubber.
if Americans and Frenches learnt from Japs, they wouldn't be defeated. they had to research how 20, 000 japs controlled the entire Vietnam. if Vetcongs captured Americans, they totured and killed them like pigs...but stupid americans always yelled human right war(before you kill me, I wont' shoot you)...then the result was lost.
thes also could have learnd from the britains - they reconquered burma when it faced a communistic revolution - they didn't try to defeat the enemy on the fields but they went into the villages and offered the people supplies an protection: it worked ...
haha who's that guy saying communism is synonimus of invasion? i guess he's more clever than Marx, Althusser or Gramsci... or maybe i'm wrong and the people of Vitnam will be eternaly greatful for the US liberating them with Napalm...
So very interesting, "upper class wars on lower class" peoples What have you got that I can take from you, because you don't deserve it! ie: American Indian we took their land, Veitnam peasants we tried to take their land resorces, African people their labor, middle eastern people oil of course! The working class American your social security and taxes.
we pay for their wars, inflation. The ruling rich-egotistical are slamming the American Family! To pay for their life style.
hummmmm? Social Security, Welfare, Unemployment paychecks, Public Libraries, Public Schools, Community Colleges, Medicare, All these are basic principles of Communism, and it affects 70% of Americans? So you don't think we deserve peace, well your right we have not been at peace since we founded-er-stole this country from the Indians that lived here for 30k yrs before we got here, Hahahahahahah!!!!!
the reason why american loss to a technological inferior force is that...majority of american forces are drafties and have no interest in the war in vietnam...and with politicians planning the strategy for a unconventional war, they were sure to loss
Americans are rich, powerful and technologically advanced, but they are the most uncivilised of all the democratic western nations. When the British were in Malaya they fought a similar enemy under very similar conditions but they didn't rape and torture like the Americans.
and you believe that because...? oh, because your history books paint such a glorious and honorable picture of your dainty british officers. what a joke. go have a spot of tea and shut the fuck up, moron.
And for the record some people would disagree, like Dr. Caroline Elkins who, incidentally, graduated from Princeton with a history major and is a professor at Harvard University. But you know better, right?
" They found themselves subjected to a police regime more restrictive than anything in apartheid South Africa. Dissent was inevitably punished by beatings, rape, torture and murder. This, Elkins discovered, was the reality of Britains civilizing mission.."
on the gravel should be together!

no nations had ever beat the Alliert, france and usa, exept the viets. The powerful German had tried thiis two times... and lose it.
so the viets patriot in my heart. But i know that we didnt won the war as more that the usa self had lose it.
Because the us cant win the Vietnamwar! never, how would they define their Victory? they cant!... same in Irak today.
