2.- what happened to the sound since 4:32 . i mean the mix isnt the same .is it direct sound.. ?

3.- on the keyboards... dr. house !!

  • 6 pessoas sao loucas!!!!!! mestre do blues!!

  • This guy is sick!!!!

  • fucking genius....another great one who now plays only for GOD

  • Ive seen these posers with stratocasters and they had there initials on there pickguard just like his. People need to be individuals and stop ripping off other peoples shit. R.I.P S.R.V

  • This is nothing short of genius...many can play fast, but to play with such soul and technique is remarkable...RIP, Stevie Ray...

  • I like how SRV could melt into the shadows and let his band mates shine. Musicians like that are few and far between.

  • Yes sir awesome

  • Amen!

  • This may not get the airplay that it deserves, but it is one of THE best instrumentals ever recorded in my opi.ion!

  • SRV was the master of the Strat.

  • @delazzuro SRV was the master. Period!

  • @STRYPER41 very true!

  • The greatest thing Mr.Stevie Ray Vaughan ever said or played was Take care of yourselves so you can be there when your brothers or sisters need you........Amen

  • the author of all things really outdid himself withe S. R. V. god bless!

  • SRV makes love to his guitar paying intense homage to his music. his music stirs intense feelings in the listener. i like to believe he would appreciate these small words of praise

    RIP SRV

  • Its really sad to realize that he was really reaching toward his true potential right at the time he died...too bad....he was really having clarity and coming together with all his skills in force....wow, the '89 and '90 concerts i saw were amazing (esp '89...he looked a bit burned toward the tail of that '90 tour, god bless him)

  • I stood at his feet many nights and no matter how "tore up" he was he never disappointed!!

  • Amen

  • As I sit here listening to this, there are tears streaming down my cheeks. I still feel that tragic sense of loss from SRV's passing, and this song captures the emotions so beautifully. Yet, I also know these are tears of love and appreciation. I feel honored to have been alive to experience his artistry first hand. God bless you and RIP SRV.

  • my heart skipped a beat when the music stopped for several seconds around 4:30

  • What a smooth song!

  • My kinda job Mutt

  • Sad to think of the legions of kids who will never hear or understand this sound. I honestly believe those of us who heard him are better off for it, and I think that was exactly what he wanted. It's not just about the music or how well he played. It's about what he gave away every time he played.

  • I Truely send thanks t the people who follow me on the comment ive made. Stevie has shaped my life and Me as a person. i truely give me heart to the people who believe in my Belief that Stevie Is the one and only Human Being!!!THANK YOU EVERYONE!! now listen to what Stevie has to tell you in a Masterpiece known as Riviera Paraise..

  • five people are miley cyrus and justin bieber fans.

  • perfect song for when youre about to make love haha

  • I was at this show! I'm pretty sure it was the Tri-State Fair in Amarillo. If it was, I was there and a freshman in high school. My brother worked security and got me and my Dad into the show. They were short on security so I got to put on a shirt and work the front of the stage! It was awesome!

  • I had the pleasure of seeing SRV about a year or so before he passed, something I'll never forget...simply mindblowing! Funny though, he opened for Robert Plant. Now who in their right mind would want to follow SRV?? Plant's promoter didn't think that through too well!! RIP Stevie

  • workmanbob- biggest thank you,, this is my fav SRV tune,,just look at his expression,,he knew it too,,,thanks man

  • I just bought a 1990 camaro and my favorite part about it is that it has a cassette player. Nothin better then driving around listening to SRV. I wish I could have seen him live. I was born into a shitty music generation were everyone has to rely on computers to help them play. RIP Stevie

  • I think this is 1 of the finest songs SRV has done, and a favourite of mine as of all his music, god bless u SRV!!!!! Oh, n yess, seeing him perform this song live, I'll never forget!!

  • Happy Birthday Stevie! Love and Miss You Every Day:(

  • the best song, jazz, jazz, blues, feeling...

  • How can you not help falling back inlove with this man and his guitar...... OOOOoohhh man!!!

  • Another song that Frankie Crocker used to play on NYC's WBLS FM back in 1989 - 90 when I had never heard of SRV...a huge loss when his plane crashed an we lost him. Great tune!

  • Some of the best 9:46 min i've ever spent

  • awesome, fucking awesome

  • God Damn if im not in tears right now lisening to this:) Incredible!:) Love You Stevie:)

  • are there any songs similar to this?

  • Chitlins con Carne by SRV is a very good instrumental, but I have to say Riviera Paradise is decidedly DISsimilar to any song by SRV I've ever had the pleasure of hearing. Masterpiece!!

  • @mamaredify chitlins con carne is by kenny burrell but stevie did it very good

  • My favorite song Ever..

  • just a preview of what was to be. R.I.P

  • Still sends chills up and down my spine.

  • Amen..

  • Lets just please all remember that even tho Stevie was The Best, he never wanted to be thought of as a *God*.., he didnt like that. To him, the music was simply his way of speaking, and he spoke Beautifully. Can i hear an Amen...

  • Amen! I read where he said he didn't think of himself as a guitar hero, he just enjoyed playing. The more you listen to his music, the more you are saddened by his untimely death. Like B.B. King said "the only thing that keeps me from crying is remembering how great he was."

I'm getting ready to get married and drive through Big D on my honeymoon. Think I will stop by and place a rose on his grave.

  • @rexanater - lay a rose down for me when you go:P..i do miss him

  • He is burries in a cemetery in oak grove in dallas. but there removed the head stone because ignorant kidsd kept screwing with it.

  • @Vaughanaddict maybe his riviera paradise was heaven...amen

  • @Vaughanaddict amen from me on that one vaughanaddict!! not only would stevie and all the greats laugh it down , its a tad OTT to say the least , but we rest in the knowledge its just people expressing their deep and everlasting love for people that changed their lives and in some cases made life worth living. RIP

  • @Vaughanaddict AMEN

  • @Vaughanaddict - Amen...when classic rock faded in 1980 due to deaths.....SRV and the blues stepped into my life...forever..Amen!

  • @Vaughanaddict No amen.

  • @Vaughanaddict Amen!!!

  • @Vaughanaddict AMEN!

  • @Vaughanaddict Amen.. preach on brother

  • @Vaughanaddict AMEN!!!

  • @Vaughanaddict Amen me bredren

  • @Vaughanaddict Amen

  • @Vaughanaddict To say that he was the best is, of course, pure opinion. Claptom still leaves SRV behind. Reality being what it is, it is great that you think he is the best, but there isn't really a body of work that surpasses Eric Clapton.

  • @atty1chgo I agree clapton is badass,but.......shut the fuck up,thats my opinion.

  • Can't get enough of it.Really miss Stevie.R.I.P

  • nobody will ever play a guitar like him, this is a great version of a great tune

  • My favorite SRV song so far

  • I believe I've told you this before workmanrob, but this is my ABOSOLUTE

favorite 1 take by Stevie....just amazing....

Thank you SO much for posting this gem !

    xoxo -c-c-

  • god i love to get fried to this song

  • Stevie looking clean and lean.

  • Aahhhh....Deep in the Heart 'o ......^_^!!!

  • One of my favorite songs of all time!

  • 5:36-5:50 look at how high the string action is on the low E! Good grief.

  • Where in Amarillo was this? I used to live there. This is pretty cool.

  • he makes it look so easy he plays so effortless its like hes barely touching the guitar fucking awesome.

  • Tata je to!!!

  • I agree with turbokevin. I often felt the same about Hendrix. How would he be playing nowadays? But with them dying when they did they never had the chance to stagnate. It is amazing to hear how his playing matured from the early days to the El Mocambo performance. I love the light and shade in this piece. It is very intense but so quiet so much of the time. Immense! His playing pays homage to Albert King and Hendrix while making it a style all his own.

  • They both showed the world that they are the greatest guitar players ever, only sad thing is that they both died tragically at young age and that they had so much more to show and give to the world, they were both brilliant and unique!

  • Artists like this would never stagnate! They always excell!

  • This concert was on my 25th Birthday.. I'm so glad I got to see him as many times as I did (10) but I sure wish he was still here.. I'd love to see how he matured and evolved as a player.. He was simply brilliant and I can't help but wonder how much more so he would be now~ RIP SRV

  • one lucky man to see stevie live...i was only 2...little did i know back then i would fall in love with his music. rip stevie, jimi and all the crew.

  • the God in action.

  • A true legend and genius! Heavy sucker strings and an action nice and high like a cheese grater! That's how it's done you pansies of the modern guitar era!!

  • RIP, Stevie. We miss you.

  • SRV!!! WTF... He is the best!

  • Stevie Ray is the shiznit! Hands down, the best.

  • good song makes me tier up o well hope he"s in paradise now jamine on his guitar .

  • Gorgeous. Missing you.

  • For some reason I'm not a huge fan of SRV either but this song is beautiful

  • The most beautiful instrumental Stevie has ever done. I miss him and can't believe he has been gone 19 years already. I was lucky to see him in Syracuse, NY in August 1989.

  • Interesting how he chooses to play all those subtle neck position pickup tunes with Lenny.

  • We have to teach the generations...in my house...my kids know Coltran to SRV...the pop SH*& that is out today...cannot compare - RIP

  • Thanks workmanrob! I remember vividly hearing this song for the first time and not knowing who it was. I knew it was a genius, and I was pleasantly surprised that this was SRV. He was taken from us early because he was just tooooo goood.

  • Ah!!!

    The Inspiration...it's so smooth...

    RIP

  • Comment removed

  • Agreed, that's what i'm thinking about..SRV is incredible..i don't know what to say and how to describe..it's just beyond description....but there's still millions of people listening to something like Jonas Brotheres.. i don't even know how to spell tihs shit

  • JMO but you are friggen clueless...

  • RIP SRV

  • To me, this song, is by far, the best romantic song ever written, SRV we love you n miss you very much!

  • To algonkin64 . . . that may have been the time he heard about it!

  • I'm pretty sure Lenny was his wife...

Other than that, I'm with you.

  • The soul and emotion SRV put into his guitars is awesome. You can seriously make some serious love while Riviera Paradise is playing. The pure soul is just flowing out if that strat like water. This music is moving and will forever be here.

  • Lenny is also a good sex song

  • He died two months before I was born. I would have loved to see him play in concert. Such a great player who left too soon.

  • Stevie Ray Vaughan is the best !!!!!!

  • Love the B3 in the background. Blends in so well with SRV's style of play...

  • Does anyone know in what key this is in?

    Thanks!!

  • Ebm

  • Usually SRV tunes 1/2 step down.

  • E minor

  • great as always!!! LOK AT HIS FACE AT 8:49...hehehehehe

  • doesn't get anymore beautiful than that my friends. i know you know.

    he is sorely missed.

  • his loss verified to me there is no loving god. completely unnecessary event. no one gained from that. his music spoke to me, can't explain.
