Well, being an intellectual, Pres Obama knows more than you think that he knows. He must've an analysis of CSJ's character and past record through his own CIA men. wendyneo is a oppostion ball sucker - She boast of adding 100 videos of slandering the PAP leaders and also bluntly telling the immigration authority of spore that she have a dual citizenship of AUSTRALIA & SINGAPORE thus hinting to the government , immigration , police that she is untouchable direct challenging the authority. I think this rambo lady need to be teach a lesson or else others will think the police are weak or do nothing.

Why would any country intervene? There is no gains for them. For example Obama is a believer for democracy. He will not support opposition because the PAP is already on good terms with the USA. So who wants to "rock the boat". Most people want to defend the status quo.

Dr Chee ... what is it you really want for singapore might not be what Singaporeans want. I should say that Singapore is still a rather young country and our current governmet is good enough to give us the infrastructures of a so called "democracy" ... there should be stages ... don't enforce everything for a change at one go ... singapore must not allow our economy to go down the drain ... else we will go back to a 3rd world society ...

Your economy will eventually go down the drain due to political disturbances which will lead to a decline of investments made by international enterprises, if the government abides political repression of other partys (history has proven). Believe me, freedom of speech does not undermine racial harmony in a multi cultural country. I'm from Switzerland where we have a high diversity of ethnicity (muslims, christians, jews, hindus; four official languages (German, French, Italien and Romansh).
