Problem: New update (I think this is the reason) means that if a redstone torch is on the side of a block, redstone on top of the same block wont be linked to it. (10:23)

This means top front pistons can only be pushed out, not pulled back in. HELP

@hello2u08 That's wonderful, but this video isn't a general redstone tutorial. It's a tutorial to make a door. It should be focused on.. making a door. This video doesn't come off as a lesson. It comes off as disorganized and unfocused. If he wants to do a lesson like that, he should make a door first, so everyone can see how the door is made and how it operates, and then focus on lessons about different pieces involved in the construction of the redstone circuitry afterward.

For the close it from the inside, read the conment below.

For hiding the redstone, when you place a switch on a block and activate it, it powers the block. You can have redstone coming out from that block and the redstone will be powered. With this, you put the redstone running under grass or something.

To get that setup you have to use an xand gate, with the outside connected to one input, and the other. The output would go to your piston door. I plan to make a tutorial on how to make the more complex gates, but I will not for now. Remember, use a xand gate

got it fixed! You just need to add a repeater in front of the inverter of the redstone torches. One redstone does not get power

Oh sorry, thought that was fixing it, but it's not fully fixing it. Found a fully working one now: put a repeater somewhere near the lever. Just to extend the current.

@DarkXMedia you could just have a bridge of redstone wire over the top row of the sticky pistons in the middle to make them extend, avoiding the visible redstone at 9:16

Unless of course they'd find the switch, but I guess you'd be smart enough to remove the switch...

I have an idear about a future building, I just can't find something that encorporates 2 structures in 1 building, so maybe the most useful example of this could be a natural cliff morphing into a house, or maybe 2 works of art morphing when you flip a switch. The more different the better!

This clearly doesn't work anymore, as the top pistons will not operate. Mine is identical to yours. Basically this video is outdated and irrelevant and you'll waste your time watching it.

you can make it completely hidden wiring if you put a block on top of the top pistons that push forward and then wire on top of that, for timing keep a double flip like you have just raise it 1 so that it switches the wiring on top of it

take this video as a guide for any other you want to make. dont give too many example whilst saying your not sure what your trying to show and dont spend ages saying what your thoughts where.

also if a mistake happens cut it from the video, i too like loads of other have been messing about due to the bug with the top pistons and cant bring myself to watch the whole explanation of not gates again just to try and get a glimpse of how you fixed it.

hey when i added the last bit (inverter) when i place the torch it would start spazing out and the fizzle out and for no reason the right torch underneath the piston fizzled out 2. so i just ended up makin a crappy 2 hidden piston door

Make it with a toggleable button... One button on each side of the doorway that will toggle the state of the pistons. Not too difficult, but I would like to see a compact version. I am going to subscribe just so I can see that when it comes out!

instead of the torches that you can see, just run some redstone wire on the blocks directly above the pistons, cause that'll still trigger them, then you really won't see anything.
