There's a video of a Viper doing the 1/4 mile in 6.75 seconds. It actually registered 8.75 seconds, but that's only because the driver didn't start revving until after the go-light flashed (and waited a good 2 seconds before launching off) causing his time to register much slow that what it would have been had be got off right at green (6.75)

@soccerpeve actually, yes. The fastest stock time for a C6 ZO6 is a 10.9xx. Just look on YouTube for "Ranger c6 zo6" and you'll find videos of several 10.xx runs. The zr1 has much higher traction problems than the zo6.

@mj20042 Yeah, the fastest stock ZR1 I could find did a 10.73 on *drag radials*. Full stock with the OE tires, it does just around 11.5 or so. The Viper is more of the same. The problem is they both have so much power that the stock tires lose too much grip to be much faster. If you were an excellent driver you might be able to squeak out an 11.3 or so on full stock, but the tires and the power don't allow for much more, even in absolutely ideal conditions.

@Milehighsnake98 Absolutely factory spec? No changes whatsoever? Somehow I doubt it. If the manufacturers could manage faster than 11.0, they'd publish it. They wouldn't stick with saying, 'oh, we've only managed high 11 second quarter miles'. If those went high 10s, it wouldn't be on the standard tires, and/or full weight. They'd have either wider or better compound tires, or they'd have lost a few pounds. Even the ZR1 hasn't broken 11.0 from the factory, though it got damn close @11.2

@Milehighsnake98 ..the fastest C6 Z time is mid 11's, not 10.9. The ZR1 might hit the 10's, not the Z06 (Stock that is). Plus you are basically saying the ZR1 is the same speed as the Z06, while the ZR1 has over 100hp more, that doesn't add up.

ZR1 - runs high 10's 638 Hp

Z06 - runs mid 11's 505 Hp

C6 - runs mid 12's  400 Hp

@soccerpeve There's a video on here of Ranger going 11.02 in a 100% stock C6 ZO6. Elsewhere on a forum I found someone who went 10.98@129. Ended up going 10.74@130 after he swapped to drag radials. Ranger is also the person who went 11.x with a 100% stock C5 ZO6, the 405hp one. Sure it takes a phenomenal driver, and you're not likely to run across these people, but the point is, the cars are capable of it, even if the driver isn't. And Ranger went 10.73 from a stock ZR1.
