If no one has said it before... item guy was right below where you fight Porkey. However, I lost my first Claus battle. When I tried again, I back tracked a little bit to do some grinding, and found him right below the capsulized Pokey. So I loaded up all the mementos I had, only to finish the Claus battle without using one lol.

i personally think that this might replay itself later, as much as i hate to say it, the world is being reborn, not just the islands, the entire planet, maybe this has happened before, whether a century or a millennium, this might be a series of events meant to play out for an eternity, humans are reborn, they destroy the world, find the islands, or until one with no heart takes the needles and the world is gone for good, just the dark dragon, it isnt my theory, but its a logical possibility

I suppose the ending could be open for interpretation, but really I think it's just the programmers inability to make a conclusion to their own theories. If you've seen any single anime to the end you would understand what I mean.

There's just something so creepy about the fact that after the game is beaten, it just shows you the title screen again...is Lucas doomed to repeat a lifetime of losing Hinawa and Claus, all his adventures, all the battles, and all the people he's met for all eternity? Is his life just a never-ending cycle, a slave to fate, forced to relive the destruction and the rebirth of life, every beginning and every end and every in between until the end of time?

My favorite part of the anonymous dialogue is actually when the game tells the player's world to be nice to the player :) Especially since the game has pretty much just finished tugging at your heartstrings XD

My personal theory is that Lucas did pass his heart on to the dragon but when the dragon woke up, because it was under the island it destroyed it. But even though the dragon destroyed the island, it still had Lucas' heart and would protect the island and everyone on it. Everyone would be able to rebuild the ORIGINAL home they lost and would live like they did before all this madness occured.

Hm...I think I'll go with the theory that the island was destroyed, and in its place, a new land was created, with other new lands sprouting around it. Lucas and friends all lived happily in their new land. Hinawa and Claus were both brought back, or maybe not, I can't decide, though I know it would obviously be preferred if they were. And Pokey (Porky), sealed inside his capsule, would be rolled into the bottom of a large well. But that's me. I like happy endings. Hate tragic endings.

The two most plausible theories I've heard is that the cost of reviving life (and that the dragon could even be YOU, the player) is that you are blind during the whole ending sequence, but you can hear everyone. (Hey, "Tim" is over there!)

The second one would be that Lucas wished everyone to die peacefully to make up for everything

Theory! The world was destroyed by the dragon so it could be remade. But the world that was remade eventually became the world of Mother 1 + 2, and the cycle repeats.

I think they all died, and the dragon may have been a device, not really a dragon, but a machine that grants wishes. It's not my main theory, but the vagueness of the dragon seems to suggest nonliterary things.

If they really went back to the way things were in Chapter 1, the Pigmasks won't exist anymore in theory, because Porky is still stuck alive in that Absolutely Safe capsule, therefore canceling all the list of events Porky did since the beginning.

This was a dumb way to end the game in my opinion because all that dialogue is pretty much pointless. Plus you don't even get to see the Dragon, or how the world gets recreated, or how everyone survived. They should of made a chapter 9 and titled it as an epilogue or something.

09:05 you say what you said and I respect that, but I believe that it is wrong. The reason they were not brought back in my opinion is that the game is not about them, it's about Lucas, and how he had to live with them dead. This gave him a driving force with which he wanted to change the world, and bringing them back probably would have done more damage then good, because they would both die again. The first time Lucas lost his mother it shattered him. How would he feel if it happened twice?

Your idea about the world starting over like it was in chapter 1 actually makes a whole lot of sense.

Remember how Leder was talking about how everyone was basically a character in a story, and each person played a role. The fact that it is listing each person in the credits as the "cast" along with the other points you made makes it seem even more like things are going back to the way they used to be. At least to me.
